About this property

Point of View - 4BR Waterview - Boat Friendly - Harkers Island Retreat

A Coastal Retreat on Harkers Island

Some places invite you to slow down.-- Point of View is one of them.

Nestled on the peaceful shores of Harkers Island, Point of View is more than just a vacation home—it's a place to reconnect with family, explore the beauty of North Carolina's Crystal Coast, and experience the authentic charm of Down East living. Wake each morning to breathtaking views of Core Sound as the sun rises over the water. Spend your days boating, fishing, kayaking, shelling, or exploring nearby Cape Lookout National Seashore. Then return home to relax on the porch with a cool drink, watch the sunset paint the sky, and end the evening beneath a canopy of stars untouched by city lights. Whether you're planning a family vacation, a couples' getaway, or a week of world-class fishing, Point of View offers the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and coastal charm.

The Space
Designed with families and friends in mind, our spacious 4-bedroom, 3-bath home comfortably accommodates up to 8 guests with inviting spaces to gather, relax, and make lasting memories.

The open-concept living area provides plenty of room to spend time together after a day on the water, while the fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare anything from a quick breakfast to a fresh seafood dinner.

One of our favorite places is the front porch overlooking Core Sound. It's the perfect spot for morning coffee, afternoon conversations, or simply watching boats drift across the water. Upstairs, the private deck off the primary suite offers another peaceful place to unwind while taking in panoramic views of the island.

Perfect for Boaters
Point of View was designed with boaters in mind.

Our oversized double driveway offers generous parking for multiple vehicles and boat trailers, and the free NC Wildlife public boat ramp is just minutes away, making launching your boat quick and convenient.

After a day on the water, you'll appreciate having plenty of space to park, unpack, and prepare for another adventure.

Whether you're heading offshore, exploring Core Sound, or making the trip to Cape Lookout, this is an ideal home base.

Private Community Beach Access
One of Point of View's hidden treasures is access to the quiet Cape Point Village community boardwalk.

A short stroll leads to a peaceful residents-only beach where you can:
-Launch a kayak or paddleboard
-Search for seashells
-Watch dolphins and coastal birds
-Enjoy spectacular sunsets
-Relax away from crowded beaches
-Take peaceful morning or evening walks along the shoreline

It's one of our favorite places—and we think it will become one of yours too.

Discover Harkers Island
If you're looking for crowded beaches and commercial attractions, Harkers Island isn't that kind of place.

And that's exactly why so many people fall in love with it.
Here you'll find a slower pace of life, working fishing boats, friendly neighbors, fresh local seafood, and miles of unspoiled coastline.

-There are no traffic lights.
-No towering hotels.
-No crowded boardwalks.
-Just authentic coastal North Carolina.

Point of View is conveniently located near many of the area's most popular attractions:
-Cape Lookout National Seashore
-Cape Lookout Lighthouse
-Island Express Ferry Service
-Straits Fishing Pier
-Core Sound Waterfowl Museum & Heritage Center
-Historic Beaufort Waterfront
-Morehead City restaurants and shopping

The house was beautifully decorated with exceptional views of the sound. It was the most peaceful place to sit on the porch with a cup of coffee, watch the anglers coming back from the cape. Well equiped kitchen with everything needed to prepare meals in if the weather isn't cooperating. Host was quick to respond and very gracious to open her lovely home. My family had a wonderful time and we look forward to coming back!

About the host

I've called Carteret County home for more than 30 years and have been fortunate to live on Harkers Island for the past seven years. I love sharing the beauty, history, and laid-back charm that make this area so special. Whether you're looking for recommendations on local restaurants, fishing spots, beaches, or hidden gems, I'm happy to share as much—or as little—as you'd like. I hope that you'll experience the best of Harkers Island and Carteret County and leave with the same appreciation for this special place that I have.

Why they chose this property

Cape Point Village is a small, quiet waterfront community that captures the relaxed pace of Harkers Island. As you cross the Harkers Island bridge, you'll be welcomed by a working shrimp boat marina and Billy's, the locally owned grocery, butcher, and hardware store that has served the community for generations. It's a place where coastal traditions are still alive, neighbors wave as they pass, and the beauty of the water is never far away. I love the peaceful atmosphere and the authentic island charm that make Harkers Island such a special place to visit.

What makes this property unique

What makes Point of View special is the beautiful coastal scenery and peaceful setting it offers. Although the property is located in the second row, it provides stunning water views overlooking the Core Banks and the iconic Cape Lookout Lighthouse. These views can be enjoyed from inside the home, the front porch, or the private deck off the master suite. Guests can also take a short walk to the Cape Point Village private beach access, making it easy to enjoy the water, sunshine, and natural beauty of Harkers Island.
