Fridays Next Door, dog friendly waterfront cottage

Stay at our little cabin on the peaceful and clear waters of Manson Lake. Located right next door to Friday’s Up North (contact us about discounts for renting both cabins). Located close to Tomahawk, Rhinelander, and Minocqua. Relax and enjoy the peacefulness of the Northwoods. Manson is a full rec lake with a public boat launch. Dog friendly!

There is plenty to do no matter the weather. Hang out on the beautiful clear waters of Manson lake in a provided kayak or paddle board, sit around the fire pit and roast s’mores, or relax on the large deck while watching the ripples in the water. And if the weather is a little wet, relax inside by the large lakeside windows and read a book or get the family together and play one of the many board games available.

This cottage does not have air conditioning, however with the cool breeze off the lake, open windows, and cool nights, turn on the ceiling fans and you won’t even need AC.

The highlight of our trip to Tomahawk was the fishing on Manson Lake. The grandkids had a great time catching Northerns and Bass. The Cabin was clean and well stocked with ample sleeping space. The view was spectacular overlooking the lake. The attention to detail and quality bedding etc. was apparent in the cabin. The kids loved the huge selection of board games and the fish stuffies. Overall, a terrific vacation spot. Thank you for having us!!

Property was clean and had all the amenities. Kayak and paddle board was nice, fire pit with the scenery was great. Beds were comfortable and sleep was decent even with the one mobile AC unit if you keep the doors open. Overall property is beautiful. I would just say the rust stains in the shower were a little noticeable and the bathroom water seemed unreliable. It would have been nice to know ahead of time that the pontoon can be rented but the price is great. Other than that, everything was great. Definitely would come back again.

Thanks for your review Cory! I am glad you guys had a great time and hope that you can make it back some time. I apologize for the rust stains from the water. The water softener is old and we were hoping it would clear up after some use. Unfortunately it hasn’t, so I am replacing it with a new softener this weekend; sorry that it wasn’t in time for your stay. We do have a pontoon, but have gone back and forth on if we are going to allow rentals with it. I will make a note for future renters though. Thanks for the advice!

We absolutely loved this cozy cottage! It was one of the best-stocked rentals we’ve stayed in - they truly thought of everything. From spices, baggies and every kitchen utensil you could need to grilling supplies and even a hairdryer and first aid kit, it made packing and settling in so easy. Outside was just as well equipped with a paddle board, kayak, paddle boat, plenty of chairs, s’more sticks and more.The cottage is right on the water with a clean beach and beautiful, crystal-clear water that was perfect for swimming and floating in tubes. We also loved all the wildlife - lots of ducks and loons, and we even spotted an eagle!The owner was wonderful to work with, very responsive and great with communication. This was the perfect end-of-summer getaway for some much-needed family time. We already love the Tomahawk area, and this cottage made our trip even better. We would absolutely recommend it and would love to stay again!

Property was clean and stocked. The problem was the cottage doesn't have a/c and I didn't realize it until 2 days before vacation started. We arrived about 3 in the afternoon and the house was 98 so we opened up the windows and went to dinner and get supplies, we got back and the temp dropped to 97. I did speak with the owner and he had just purchased it and is planning on installing it. He did offer his pontoon so we could cool off, but it was too late after dinner to go. We went and purchased fans which helped. It is acceptionally hot right now. Had there been AC on the premises, it would have been a great place to stay. We assumed and shouldn't have.

We experienced an unseasonably hot stretch during your time with us, and we completely understand how challenging that can be. While our listing does state that the home does not have air conditioning, we care deeply about our guests' comfort. During your stay, we did everything in our power to address the heat and try to make your time with us as pleasant as possible. Since then, we have placed a portable air conditioning unit in the property for immediate relief, and we are actively working with a local HVAC company to have a full system installed. We truly appreciate your visit and your feedback, as it helps us continually improve the experience for our guests. We hope that you can find another time to come back and stay at this property once we get AC installed, or at our adjacent property ‘Fridays Up North’.
