We absolutely loved this place. Every detail was perfect. I was ecstatic to find the bed(s) were adjustable. That is the one thing I miss most when traveling. Communication was wonderful and Dawn was very responsive. Loved sitting on the deck listening to the water in the creek and watching the deer in the morning. We will definitely come back.

Our family had a wonderful time at Happy Hour. The property was clean and beautifully decorated, enormous windows and high ceilings let in lots of natural light. The covered porch was a favorite spot for the family to hang out and watch the wildlife that came by every morning and evening. If you are looking for a place to unwind and enjoy nature, I would highly recommend. The check in/out was very easy and the host was very nice and helpful.

Excellent home with everything you need to unplug in natural surroundings. The kitchen is fully stocked, the beds are comfortable and well equipped, the showers contained essentials. Overall really put together well and overall one of the nicest places we have stayed. The kids played in the creek and the yard during the day. Plenty of games in the house at night. A number of deer wondered through the area at dawn and dusk. Great escape from the city for a few days.

We loved our stay at Happy Hour! The communication with the owners was awesome, and the home was very clean upon arrival. The location was perfect—tucked away enough to feel peaceful and relaxing, but still close enough to Boone and Blowing Rock when we wanted to head into town.Being right on Elk Creek was so peaceful to fish and listen to the water while rocking on the deck. The home was well thought out, you could tell the owners really wanted their guests to have everything they needed. They had fire starters, plenty of logs, s’mores sticks, fishing gear, tubes, toiletries, soaps—you name it! It was the little touches that made the stay extra enjoyable. We had such a great time and hope to make our way back again. We’d definitely recommend Happy Hour.

We enjoyed a relaxing, peaceful setting at Happy Hour. This is a new home with every detail thought of for a renter - from tons of spices in the kitchen to nice brands of shower soap/shampoo to plenty of kitchen supplies - it outdoes any rental as far as supplies. It was like the owners thought of every possible detail a guest could need or want; quite considerate. The location is pretty tucked away, however, that adds to the peace and serenity. Everything from the beds (master bedroom has a remote control for elevating and personalizing the mattress!) to the huge fire pit, it is elevated and brand new. What a treat!

Wow!! Just wow - what else can we possibly say about our stay at Happy Hour. The house was pristine and had everything we could have needed or wanted and more. Dawn is the best host and was so very responsive to my many questions. We loved sitting on the porch and just listening to the creek and grilling and eating dinner on the porch with nature. The kids loved playing with the tubes in the creek and I enjoyed some wonderful reading time sitting in the creek letting the water flow by. The pots and pans and other kitchen equipment were so great we never left to go eat out! Lots of family time and quiet time at Happy Hour! We hated to leave, but hope to go back again real soon. This property is a gem and has so many special touches you will never want to leave.

WOW - What a tremendous find in the Deep Gap area of NC! This host knocked-it-out-of-the-park!! The property was not only brand new, but super clean and filled with all the essentials PLUS a bunch of amenities (rocking chairs were AWESOME). The location was very unique, close enough to town for the tourist experience, but also far enough away for a quiet retreat. The back porch was my family's favorite spot, just sitting and listening to the creek with the sunlight shining through the leaves, smelling the fresh mountain air, and keeping an eye out for the occasion deer amongst the backdrop of (what seemed like) a hundred lightening bugs. We found ourselves reminiscing back to childhood days and uncles that poked holes in the top of a mason jar. It was so beautiful and peaceful, the checkout notice was a sad reminder that our reservation was ending. Communication with the Host was great, they responded timely to our pre-check in question - and the check-out instructions were clear and easy to follow. We will definitely return to The Happy Hour House, and next time bring the grand-niece!
