Family Retreat

This is a great house for an extended family retreat. Nice kitchen and eating areas with great views. Roomy bedrooms are also nice. It also is very nicely maintained.

I was very disappointed with my stay. The house feels neglected. The last thing I want to do on my vacation is clean, yet all the dishes I tried to use were dirty. The kitchen seemed to be stocked by items from a garage sale. Some of the ceramic baking dishes were badly cracked and all unclean. They cleaned up easily with a sponge. The same with the metal baking trays. The oven was very dirty with piled up food on the bottom. The deck too was starting to fall apart and the furniture was worn out, needing attention. The house does have nice views of the sound and it does have plenty of room for larger groups. The beds were reasonably comfortable and the sheets of decent quality. The house just needs some attention and investment.

David, we truly appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. It’s disheartening to learn about the cleanliness issues you encountered, especially in the kitchen and on the deck. We strive to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment, and it sounds like we fell short in this instance. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the views and found the space accommodating for your group. Your comments about the need for attention to the property are invaluable, and we will certainly take them to heart as we work to enhance the experience for our guests. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us, and we hope you might consider giving us another chance in the future.

Amazing house with a great view of the water! We traveled with another family (3 adults and 4 kids total) and this house was perfect. Very spacious - all the kids had their own rooms. Amazing deck that overlooks the water. The house was close to Eastsound and all of the activities we wanted to do. One day of our trip was rainy and cold, so we spent the day relaxing at the house, playing games and reading books. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return! The only negative was that the pillows on the beds weren’t great (but I am a pillow snob), so bring your own if you can.

Gorgeous Home with Water View

We really enjoyed our stay on Orcas Island. This home is very spacious and well-appointed. My favorite part was the deck with an amazing view of the water. We were a group of 7 - 3 adults and 4 kids. This house was perfect for us. The kids each had their own room. The kitchen was large and we put it to good use. It did get pretty warm at night in the upstairs bedrooms, but the ceiling fans helped. The house is very close to Eastsound, which was super convenient, but is also in a very private and quiet area. We really would love to stay here again!

Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review—we’re delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your stay on Orcas Island! It’s wonderful that the home worked so well for your group and that everyone had the space they needed. We’re especially glad you loved the deck and those beautiful water views—those are truly a highlight. It’s also great to know the kitchen and location made your stay both enjoyable and convenient while still feeling private and peaceful. We appreciate you mentioning the warmth in the upstairs bedrooms. While we’re glad the ceiling fans helped, we understand how important nighttime comfort is and will keep this in mind as we look for ways to improve. Thank you again for sharing your experience—we’re so happy to hear you’d love to return, and we would be thrilled to welcome you and your family back for another memorable stay!

Beautiful home, great for a group

The house makes great use of the location with beautiful views throughout. It's a great house for a group with many good sized bedrooms. Our group of two families had a great time on the island and in the home.

Even better than pictured. So comfortable and fun! We loved playing the piano, great game selection, and lots of time on the deck listening to birds and watching boats and aircraft travel Eastsound. The sunsets are not to be missed. It was a wonderful stay!
