2 Bdrm 2 Bthrm Sweeping Ocean View, Private Pool & Spa, Fruit Trees to pick from
Aloha, My name is Sandra and I have lived in Kona since 1970. I came from California in search of cleaner beaches to ponder my future. As it turned out, I stayed - and have loved living here ever since. I have traveled the world and must say 'there is no place like home'. When my children grew and moved out I discovered that this home was too big for me, so I turned downstairs portion into a vacation retreat, which includes the pool, yard and downstairs kitchen and I'm so very happy to share this precious, peaceful place with visitors and share my knowledge of the Island as requested. I look forward to meeting you.
Sandra purchased this House in 1990
Why Sandra chose Kailua-Kona
This particular area of Kona is perfect as far as climate and location. I have lived in many different areas of the Island, and this location is, by far, the BEST. At 900 ft. elevation, the great views are expansive and the climate, temperate. Coastal living can be very hot in Hawaii, while we are enjoying soft trade winds to keep the temperatures perfect. I also love this location because there are approximately 12 world class golf courses within a short drive, and the harbor is just 3 miles away, a launching place for many water activities. We are on one full acre , a beautiful park with no neighbors below us, which gives us all the privacy you could ask for.
What makes this House unique
Wake up to the sweet sounds of songbirds, lounge around your private pool and soak up the warming rays of the sun. Leisurely prepare some breakfast in the outdoor kitchen while enjoying the peacefulness and beauty all around you. IF you feel like going for a little walk, this is one of Kona's most beautiful neighborhoods with safe, quiet roads and little hills or steep ones if you would like a challenge.

I LKE IT!
We liked having you stay here, come again.
Wonderful week up the hill above Kailua-Kona
We had a great time at Sandra’s place. Amazing pool, beautiful views, comfortable, well-stocked.
The mosquitos were hungry for a few minutes at dusk - but Sandra provided the tools to deal with them.
Just wish the rest of our family could have shared the place with us.

Like our own botanical gardens
We just loved, loved, loved our stay here. Such a beautiful spot with the view of the ocean and wonderfully landscaped yards. I enjoyed waking up early with my six year old and exploring the property for wildlife - birds, geckos, visiting wild chickens - and enjoying all the many fruit trees. My husband was in love with the outdoor kitchen. Our son thoroughly enjoyed all the legos and toys - when not in the pool which is where we spent most of our time. The unit had everything we needed, minus washer/dryer (unless we were absolutely blind), but as it was a shorter stay we managed without.
Would stay there again in a heartbeat and hope that that day will come again soon!
Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home with us.
Aloha Thank you for leaving such a nice review. There IS a full-size washer/dryer, next to the outdoor shower. I'm sorry you missed it. Wish I would have pointed that out to you; I'm going to make a sign. Hope to see you again.
Peaceful Hawaiian Oasis
We could not have had a better stay at Sandra's beautiful home! So peaceful, gorgeous sunsets, and every amenity you need, including beach gear! We loved making meals in the outdoor kitchen while the kids swam in the pool, gathering fresh fruit from the yard, and sipping wine watching the sunset. It was wonderful being a few minutes up the hill from downtown Kona, where the weather is about 10 degrees cooler at night and much quieter. Sandra is an awesome host....there in a jiffy if you need her, but otherwise, she leaves you to enjoy her beautiful property. We will definitely return!
Public tennis courts, many world class golf courses, great shopping and lots of different ocean sports are available within minutes from the house.
Kona is known for its world-class marlin fishing. We are almost directly above Honokohau Harbor which has a fun restaurant for lunch and is also where the fishing charters and many other ocean activities (sunset sails, manta ray snorkeling and diving cruises, zodiak tours, whale watching etc.) are based. There are some wonderful white sand beaches and tide pool areas within a 10 or 15 minute drive. Costco is our closest market and is a great place to stock up for your vacation. It is also the most economical place to buy gas.
