This lovely post and beam home is conveniently located on the Pemaquid Peninsula and is perfect for those who want a stress-free and quiet vacation get-away. Privacy abounds this property and is just a five minute walk to Calf Island on tranquil Boyd Pond where you can enjoy the wildlife while sitting on the dock, swimming or enjoying a kayak or canoe ride. This is a perfect place for those who love nature and wish to get away from the busyness of everyday life. We are a short drive to Bristol's wonderful saltwater beach, Pemaquid Point, Fort William Henry and the quaint and lovely downtown of Damariscotta. Bristol is centrally located in coastal Maine for day trips throughout the region. Boat trips to Mohegan Island, whale and puffin watches can be found in New Harbor which is just minutes from Bristol. We are approximately 40 minutes from Booth Bay Harbor for those who want to spend a day in this beautiful harbor town. The home has two bedrooms and a loft that can accommodate 5 people comfortably. There is a queen bed in one bedroom, two twin beds in the second bedroom and a full size pull-out sofa in the loft. There is a fully applianced kitchen, a full bath and a living area with a gas stove. A large deck and a private screened porch are part of this wonderful property to enjoy the peaceful Maine evenings. This home awaits your arrival.

The house is absolutely beautiful and sits in a very private location in a serene woods setting. It provides access to Boyd pond through a trail- gorgeous. It is close to the beach, lots of places to grab a bite to eat, and all the beautiful coastal sites in the area. We loved the amount of space the house has- each bedroom is a great size. The house has so many features that are wonderful for hosting a family vacation. The only downside for us was how hot it was inside with no A/C. We stayed there during a record-breaking heat wave in July and it was sweltering in the house despite us having all the fans going. Other than that, everything was perfect! The host, Sandra, is so kind and helpful! She is responsive and answered every inquiry I had in a timely manner. She is wonderful!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and there were several things we appreciated. The location was excellent, the home was quiet and beautiful, and it was very clean when we arrived. The kitchen was adequately stocked with the basics needed for preparing meals.That said, there were a few disappointments that impacted our comfort. The beds were quite uncomfortable, and the linens and comforters were very thin. The beds did not have sheets on them when we arrived, which wasn't what we expected. There were only a few pillows, and they were very thin as well. The living room furniture consisted of outdoor-style wicker furniture, which wasn't comfortable for relaxing indoors. The sleeper sofa also collapsed easily, making it difficult to use. We were also surprised that there was no dishwasher.One thing that should definitely be disclosed in the listing is that guests are required to transport their own trash to a transfer station using their personal vehicle. This was unexpected and inconvenient.Overall, the property itself is beautiful, peaceful, and in a great location, but improvements to the bedding, furnishings, and disclosure of guest responsibilities would make for a much more comfortable stay.

So sorry you did not find some of the accommodations to your liking. I am in the process of updating the linens. As far as the trash and lack of a dishwasher, both are addressed in the information sent to you prior to your arrival as well as on the website. The sheets are provided but left off the beds for a reason. Not every bed is used by a guest and it doesn't make sense to strip every bed if it hasn't been used. This is a house and not a hotel room. Thank you for staying at our cottage.

Beautiful and clean home. Very comfortable stay. Thought the water access would be a bit closer but it certainly didn’t ruin our stay! Great location for accessing nature trails, lighthouse, kayaking, dining, and shopping if that’s your thing. Wish we had a few more days for sure!

Wonderful Cabin in a quiet location

We had a great stay at this lovely cabin located near many things, but with peace and quiet surrounding it. The owners were great and let us use their kayaks and canoe to enjoy the nearby large pond. Would definitely recommend this place to others.

My husband and I grew up in Worcester, MA and lived most of our lives in the Massachusetts area. When our children 'flew the nest' we decided to move to New Hampshire, which is where we currently reside. We have always wanted a home in Maine.

Why they chose this property

We found this wonderful property in Bristol many years ago and were finally able to build our dream home as well as a comfortable smaller version for our children to use. We decided to open up our lovely smaller property to renters who could enjoy the peace and serenity of the area as well as the many activities available in the spring, summer and fall.
