Our sexton's house is located on a quiet side street in the centre of the village. Built in 1910, the building was taken over by the Catholic church in 1952 and from then on served as a home for the sexton couple, who looked after the church, which was also built on the site in 1952. In 2015, the church was deconsecrated and we had the opportunity to acquire the ensemble of buildings. With great attention to detail, we have brought the sexton's house back to life in recent years.
A terrace with garden furniture and an outdoor barbecue awaits our guests in front of our house.
On the ground floor there is a bedroom with a double bed, a modern bathroom and the "highlight", the well-equipped kitchen with the directly adjoining spacious dining room. A relatively steep staircase leads to the upper floor. Here, a large living room invites you to relax. There is also a bedroom with a single bed on the upper floor and another bedroom with two single beds next door under the sloping roof.
The house is located in Butjadingen-Stollhamm, a village in the centre of the Butjadingen peninsula. From here, you can explore the countryside on a network of cycle paths stretching over 200 kilometres. The Butjadingen cycle path network is integrated into the "German Sielroute", the "Weser Cycle Path" and the "North Sea Coast Cycle Path". Cities such as Bremerhaven, Bremen, Wilhelmshaven and Oldenburg are easily accessible from Butjadingen-Stollhamm and are also well worth a visit.
With your guest card (spa card) you can explore the surrounding area free of charge on the "Strandläufer", the regional bus service, without using your car. For example, a trip to the Frisian beach in Tossens or to the North Sea lagoon in Burhave is possible every hour.
