About this property

The Old Chapel, Buckden, The Yorkshire Dales. Pets welcome. Garage and garden.

Tucked away in a very quiet part of the village of Buckden, The Old Chapel was a former Wesleyan Chapel built in 1891 and the front half has been converted to a luxury holiday cottage.
The cottage sleeps 4 people and a travel cot for babies.
Pets welcome (charge). The cottage is an ideal place for a relaxing holiday in a very peaceful village within the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. It would suit couples or families that either want to walk and explore the local countryside and mountains or those who want to use it as a base to explore further afield such as Wensleydale, Swaledale, Skipton and beyond. The cottage is self-catering with a pub and village restaurant (summer only) within walking distance and 3 further pubs within a 2 mile radius. We pride ourselves on providing a cottage that you will think of as “home” for your holiday with everything you need for a well earned break.

We provide full electric central heating and an electric log burner for a cosy stay in all seasons. Those extra features including all bedding and towels, a Nespresso machine, a smart TV and fast wifi to help make it an extra special holiday. We have a washing machine in the kitchen for those wanting to to stay for longer.

Really comfortable, well-equipped and beautifully-located home
This is a really comfortable, well-equipped and beautifully-located home. Antony is really easy to deal with, always quick to communicate back. As he says in the blurb, there is no phone signal but the wifi is excellent and so long as you wifi-enable your phone for calls, it's no problem. Plus, WhatsApp works over wifi. Location is excellent and there is a good pub with food at the Buck Inn. Only thing to note: you don't get the whole chapel. It is actually split into two. It didn't matter for us, as there was nobody in the adjoining house when we were there. But if you were hoping for fully detached, you may want to bear this point in mind.

Wonderful location, cosy gîte.
Ideally located for walks in the Dales. Good pubs in the nearby villages, especially the George at Hubbleholme. Lovely week of peace, exercise and fresh air!

Fantastic little gem, would defiantly return
Only thing I can say is they need a sign on the get to say please shut the gate, we have a little dog and they was a few times someone who went to visit the neighbour had left it open, so had to rush out quickly. But what a lovely week. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a lovely break in a wounderfully place to stay. Thank you see you soon

Wonderful property
This wonderfully converted chapel was an amazing base to explore the Dales. Check in process was brilliant with very clear directions and instructions to access the property. This is one of the best cottages we’ve stayed in and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Thank you
