This attractive cottage rests in the village of Gargrave, on the edge of Yorkshire Dales National Park, which is the location for the new TV series All Creatures Great and Small and only 15 miles from Haworth famous for the Brontës and setting for the latest and old Railway Children films. It is an ideal location with everything you need in the village, but the countryside is right on your doorstep, with the Pennine Way and Settle Carlisle Railway both a short walk away and the river 100 yards away for picnics. Honey Cottage is a beautifully presented two-bedroom property situated along village greens, close to the River Aire and canal locks. The owners have thought of everything, and the cottage has undergone a total ground-up renovation. There’s a brand-new kitchen with all appliances, bathroom with freestanding bath and separate shower, utility room with a toilet, wasing machine and boot sink, new high spec double glazed windows, alongside new and antique furniture and dressings whilst still retaining the charm and features of a Victorian cottage.
This delightful property is an ideal base for holidaymakers to enjoy the local area. Enjoy the best of both worlds from local shops, a small supermarket, a café, takeaways and two pubs all within the village. Venture out further to find the famous, historic market town of Skipton, only 5 minutes by train or 10 minutes by bus, with its fine castle, a multitude of shops, cafés, walks, boat trips and even a classic school cinema.
Entering the property via the pathway you walk through one of the last formally set out gardens remaining in the village; seating and tables are provided for al fresco dining. Inside, you will find an entrance hallway with a welcoming and cosy living room benefitting from two sofas, a TV and a wood burner, perfect for those winter nights. Down the hall, you will find a spacious, bespoke kitchen/dining area with a red brick feature wall, which has everything you need to prepare a home-cooked meal and serve at the dining table. The property also benefits from a utility area with a washing machine, boot wash sink toilet and a door to the rear yard with a small table and chairs.
The owners have included a hidden gem, a secret bar in the keeping cellar, no need to wait in line when it’s in the comfort of your cottage. Wander upstairs where you will find two double bedrooms, on the same floor you will find a luxury bathroom with a free-standing bath, shower cubicle, basin and toilet.
