Fox Kit Cottage offers an exciting ocean experience in sumptuous comfort. As you scroll through the pictures you will see there is nothing in Bodega Bay like it. Well-appointed, it has two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed, the other with two twin beds, and one bathroom. It is perfect for a romantic getaway or a vacation for a small family.

With its remodel in 2011and further enhancements in 2018, the cottage continues as an upscale retreat for its owners and guests. Sitting above Wright’s Beach, views dominate from nearly every room, and intense ocean scenes are customary. From the beautifully designed deck and spa, you will relax, unwind, and feel what the power of the sea can do for your soul.

The ocean is not the only attraction. There is wildlife everywhere. Birds, whales, and fox (the cottage’s namesake) are just a sampling. From two short paths – Monterey Pine Path, and Bluff Path, you will enjoy the coastal landscape and incredible views. The spacious lot hosts a majestic, intricately intertwined, 40-year old Monterey Pine tree, with a path under its canopy and a stone bench to sit and admire natural arbor artistry. The Bluff Path takes you down to a bench amongst the freshwater springs, flowering foliage, with the vast ocean below.

Furnishings reflect a commitment to clean contemporary design, local art, and attention to detail. Amenities include quality bedding, thick bath towels and robes, and natural toiletries, setting this home apart from others. The views were unbeatable. It’s a perfect romantic getaway. I loved that all the lights can be turned off so you can stargaze from the hot tub, we saw so many shooting stars! The lower deck and garden were amazing and we got to see a whale! The bed in the main bedroom was a bit stiff and very creaky but we still slept comfortably. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed to warm up meals. I can’t wait to come back again.

Probably the best rental I’ve stayed in. The views with the hot tub are spectacular and unmatched. Lots of wildlife to see. Easy access to the beach through Duncan’s point. The master bed mattress is a little hard for my liking but not horrible. Such a beautiful and unique spot.

FoxKit Cottage could be one of our best VRBO rentals ever. It is often difficult to find a property for a couple and still have plenty of room and this fit our requirements perfectly. Such a relaxing atmosphere with spectacular ocean views. We spotted whales and had several sightings of the resident Kit Fox, took advantage of the wonderful seafood restaurants on the bay,enjoyed walks on the beach and especially enjoyed the hot tub on the deck. Unlike some other properties we have rented the was very well equipped.We highly recommend this property.

The new remodeling on this location shines, with modern windowshades, lights, and outlets. Everything was very clean, including the windows, which I know can quickly get fogged over by sea spray. The outdoor space was really nice and bigger than expected. The living area was also larger than expected, with a good-sized dining area, a sitting area, and a separate TV area. Location is unbeatable--you can walk to the beach and the Kortum trail, which I took 6 miles up north all the way to the mouth of the Russian River. Very quiet and peaceful and unbeatable ocean views.

Our stay at Fox Kit Cottage in March was exceptional! The house was clean, well equipped and perfect for a girls’ weekend getaway. Loved sitting on the deck overlooking the surf looking for migrating whales. The hot tub was a great way to relax after spending the day in Wine Country or hiking at Armstrong Woods. Our host, Beth, was very friendly, helpful and easy to communicate with. Loved the beach access from Duncan’s Landing and the landscaping around the house was amazing! I would definitely recommend Fox Kit Cottage without any reservations and only wish I lived closer so I could come back again soon!!

Easy to find. The views from the balcony are amazing! Only issue we had was the deck paint is peeling and would stick to your feet. Walk to the beach was nice. Would recommend to anyone looking to relax in Bodega. Make sure you eat at The Fishetarian and the sandwiches at Pelican Plaza are awesome.
