The on-line photos are confusing because they include a few different suites all mixed together so it is not possible to determine which suite is being booked by the photos.
A good place for families with children but for a quiet couple with 2 large dogs it wasn't suitable. There are cream coloured wall to wall carpets in the suite (not pet friendly) and the entrance door to our suite was directly into the master bedroom so no privacy if someone is sleeping and others want to enter and exit the suite. Our suite layout was not well designed with no light or windows in the kitchen or livingroom and we could hear the cats running and people walking across the floor above our bed. Also, the Netflix and Crave TV sites were mostly unavailable.
Very nice and clean accommodation on a beautiful estate in a very lovely area. No private outdoor space, but friendly and helpful neighbours and owner. I can only recommend a visit

Great place
Great hostess, fabulous place, spotless and comfortable furniture and its well stocked. Quiet. The only down for me was that it was a bit far from Victoria, but I enjoyed staying there regardless.

Wonderful Xanadu Stay
We had a very nice stay in one of the Xanadu suites. It was a very spacious, nice suite. The kitchen was well appointed--really the whole suite is! On top of having a very nice little apartment, the grounds are so beautiful and relaxing. Jane is very nice and helpful. The location is so nice we would have been happy to sit outside and enjoy the grounds, sounds of ducks overhead and views, but we were busy visiting relatives. I would highly recommend Xanadu if you are looking for a place that will provide additional amenities beyond a standard hotel along with a nice get-away location.

Nice place
Overall I would rate this a good place to stay. Rooms were nice and beds were comfortable. Kitchen is functional, but note there is only a hot plate and toaster oven for making simple meals. Host was very nice. Much much better than a hotel room. I can easily recommend the Xanadu Estate for someone looking to stay near Victoria.
We toured Butchart Gardens (definite yes) and the Royal British Museum (pretty good also) in Victoria. Also bring swim suits as there are beaches to the north on the east side of Vancouver Island that can make for good swimming and wading.
Rooms were clean and the property was well maintained. Owner provided good customer service.

Beautiful quiet place to stay but still near to Victoria and other sites on the Island
Xanadu Estate was perfect for our (2 adults and 12 year-old son) accommodation on Vancouver Island. The place was very clean and well maintained. It was a really nice touch for the owner to provide a bottle of wine upon our arrival. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with necessary utensils and cooking pots. There was a two-burner hot plate, toaster oven, and a full-size refrigerator.
We used this location as our headquarters for exploring Vancouver Island. It is about 30 - 40 minutes from Victoria, 10 minutes from Duncan and 4 hours from Tofino. It is an hour drive from the Swartz Bay ferry dock. We visited Victoria (twice), Chemainus (check out the murals and the Twisted Sisters Tea Room), Tofino (great Whale Watching, check out Tacofino for good eats), Butchart Gardens (amazing!).
There is a well stocked grocery store about 10 minutes away in Mill Bay - Deloume Road (there is a Timmy's, McDonalds, two gas stations and banking at this location as well).
After a busy day sightseeing it was so nice to come back to a quiet relaxing place to put up our feet.
We would definitely recommend this place to our friends and family!
