This house was originally built in 1860. In 1900 the house was purchased and converted into a 2-family home to accommodate extended family. Today homes like this in Boston have been converted into apartments and condos. Retaining its original structure each room in this historic 2 address house has been renovated to offer all of the modern conveniences that make for a pleasant stay. House characteristics of that era like steep stairs and smaller room sizes could prove challenging for some visitors, but perfect for those looking to fully experience the history of Boston. This upper unit has 2,200 square feet of living space divided into 12 rooms consisting of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, den/5th bedroom, porch, game room, large yard, outside BBQ with patio dining for 8 and off-street parking for 2 cars.
The house allows a maximum of 12 people. The standard sleeping configuration is to use the 4 bedrooms and the den as sleeping areas. However for added convenience and privacy the sleeping areas can be expanded during warm weather months into 8 distinct sleeping areas that include: 1) Master Bedroom queen size bed (with an EZ inflate twin in the closet), 2) Maple Bedroom full size bed, 3) White Bedroom full size bed, 4) Porch Bedroom full size bed, 5) Den full size and twin size sleeper couches, 6) Porch twin size bed (not heated so unusable Nov–Mar), 7) 3rd floor Loft twin size bed and 8) Game Room EZ inflate queen size bed (also not heated so unusable Nov–Mar).
Boston is America’s oldest city with the downtown area surrounded by 22 Boston neighborhoods. The property is situated in Boston’s “Brighton neighborhood”, which is the college neighborhood surrounded by Harvard to the North, Boston College to the South and Boston University to the East. This location is ideal as you are only 5 miles from downtown Boston and 200 yards from Brighton Center. Brighton Center is a quaint urban area with banks, a post office, library, restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, pizza places, ice cream parlors and more. Brighton’s lively center offers an authentic taste of life in the Boston area. The house is also within walking distance from a United Church of Christ, Roman Catholic Church and a Jewish Synagogue.
Boston’s public transit system, “the T” includes: subway, trolley, bus, rail and ferry options. A 3 minute walk to the “T stop” allows you to quickly get anywhere in the city, while saving you the cost of staying at a downtown hotel. If you rent a car or use Uber, it’s a 1.5-mile drive to the Mass Pike (I-90) that gets you to downtown Boston in 15 minutes and then anywhere else in New England.

This was the perfect place for our stay. Lots of room to spread out and relax, and at the end of a little street next to a school. It was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
Plenty of space and updates but it’s an old house and comes with the quirks of an 1860s house including a certain mustiness. Size, location, rooms to spread out and excellent host of course make up for it. Thank you!
This turned out to be the perfect place for us to spend Thanksgiving with our family and friends. There was plenty of room for everyone, and the location really couldn't be beat. There are some cute cafes and brunch spots nearby, the public transportation was easy to navigate, and the off-street parking was a huge plus. Also, the hosts were extremely responsive. Highly recommend!
House worked great for us. Definitely be prepared for stairs as the main level for this property is on the second story and the three bedrooms were up another flight on the third floor. The two bathrooms were both on the second floor. Had a rustic old time feel that we enjoyed. The only thing I noticed that could be improved would be some updated bedding. The heating system worked great as it was very cold outside during our day. It was a great location for us, close to the Track at New Balance. Also, the private parking in the driveway, was a major benefit, especially since street parking was limited due to heavy snow piles. Also, the property is located at the end of a dead end street that made the area nice and quiet. Would definitely stay here again.
Stayed in this property during a five day vacation with three generations. We all loved the location and space the property had. Communication with the owner/manager was seamless. Will certainly look into staying at the property next time we are in Boston.
This house was close to catching the public transportation. It was in a quiet neighborhood and had enough bedrooms for all of us to sleep. It was clean and the communication with the manager was wonderful.
We had eight of us total staying at this house and there was plenty of room for everybody to sleep comfortably and to lounge around the house. There is great outdoor space ample parking and the location was excellent to walk to nearby restaurants and shops. We had a great time and if we were coming back to the area, we definitely stay here again.
The place was in a perfect location. Short walk down the hill to coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants and shops. Plenty of off street parking. Plenty of room in the house and fully stocked with what is needed. Some of the decor is a bit dated but it does give the place a homey feel. Would happily stay here again.
Stayed here with some friends for our college reunion and it was perfect. Jeff was great to communicate with and we hope to be back in 5 years for the next Boston trip! Thank you!
Overall very nice. Had a family meal here. Used the grill and has a nice dining room. Beds are comfortable and plenty of space for our 8 adults and 1 two year old.
My family stayed here when we came to cheer on my brother during the Boston Marathon. The house is well appointed with amenities and is very convenient to several bus lines so public transit was easy.
Matt was easy to communicate with, check-in was a breeze, the area was safe and quiet. We would absolutely stay here again!

My father grew up in this house that was purchased by my grandfather in 1900 and remains in our family to this day. I grew up in Temecula, California and moved to Boston in 2018 to become a locksmith, as my full time job, and help manage the family business when I am not working. This house has two separate addresses; I reside in the lower unit of 41 Dighton Street and the vacation rental is 43 Dighton. All of the pictures and information on this site refer to the vacation rental unit of 43 Dighton.

And if you have your sights set on more than just New England, you can always make the 200 mile drive to New York City. In short, you’ll never run out of things to do during your visit to Boston!
What makes this property unique
It’s very difficult to find a large home with a large yard and off street parking that is conveniently located in a very safe Boston Neighborhood close to Boston’s main attractions. The house is only 200 yards from Brighton Center’s shops, pubs and restaurants and just 5 miles from Downtown Boston.
