It was very comfortable. Love Lake Superior so close to the beaches and quiet! Not a lot of space for clothes so we lived out of our suitcases from the second bedroom that we weren't using. Not sure how that could be different.
Our stay was great! It was nice after a day of hiking to come back and relax by the bonfire. There is not a lot to do right in Port Wing but just up the road in Herbster and Cornucopia there are more options. The washer and dryer didn't work well but overall a good experience..
Stayed here a few times with the family now and it's always great! There's been a few small updates over the years which are always a welcome 😊. Very nice & clean, plus kitchen is stocked reasonably well for every day needs. Laura is the best on communications too (very quick to help).

Charming Cottage, perfect vacation getaway!
Stayed at this cottage this past weekend with 5 girlfriends and had such a wonderful time. The cabin was so charming and felt like home away from home and was perfectly depicted in the pictures. I loved the decorations and all the little extras the owner provided. We were in walking distance to the Marina, and the owner also provided directions to a small beach (one morning we did yoga on the beach and were the only ones there!) There were 2 canoes that were provided and many access points to access the lake, there was a firepit on the back deck and wood was provided, the outdoor furniture had nice cushions, and the area was so peaceful. On Saturday, we we drove to the quaint town of Cornucopia and took a catamaran trip to the caves of the Apostle Islands. This trip was fantastic and well worth the cost - the sailboat carried 2 dinghy's and we were able to get into the dinghy's and paddle through the caves (what an experience!) On Sunday, we took the short drive back to Cornacopia and had a wonderful breakfast at the Village Inn and shopped at Ehlers General store. I highly recommend renting this cottage and exploring the beauty of nature all around it. I have returned home relaxed and rejuvinated. I will definitely be back again!
Wonderful property and location. Very responsive owner. My only complaint is that the bed was not comfortable (I'm tall and my feet hung off). Otherwise, beautiful property!
We loved this cabin! Not only was the location great to explore the area, the property is well stocked with all necessities to "live" other than food. It is well maintained, comfortable, great for hanging out inside or outside. The first night we made a fire outside, roasted hot dogs and sat for hours. The second night we stayed inside watched a movie and chilled. Beds were fairly comfortable but on the small side. We're not tall but I could see how tall people would hang off the bed. Laundry equipment was great and thanks for the extras like detergent, bug repellent, sunscreen, etc. Access was easy and the owner kept great communication.
This is a really cute cabin with all of the comforts of home. The kitchen was exceptionally nice. Furniture was comfortable; fans in each room helped as it was a little warmer than expected for the time of year. We loved the fire pit out back.
I do wish it were further away from the road/ATV trail, and my partner was disappointed that that we couldn't just go out the door and safely walk the dogs much (just a short path from the back of the property that just ended up at the road).
We had a loss of internet, but the owner was very communicative and tried to get it fixed. No big deal except we didn't have maps and were driving blind in the area until we reached Cornucopia to get directions. Was a good reminder not to rely on technology in the woods - I should've brought my own printed maps with me.
Overall, we had a lovely time.
The cabin is adorable. Very clean. Kitchen well equipped. My little dog and I walked to Lake Superior several times. Short walk, less than 5 minutes. Nice paths to walk in the woods also. I was very pleased. 😃
We love it. It was very cosy, quiet, so many interesting decorations, and everything what we needed was in place. Kitchen was amazing. Beach, fishing, mushroom hunting was just around the corner.
