Shane and Tonja Maguire lived in the area for 7 years where we made friends with many of the local vineyards and restaurants. Tonja is an Irish Artist. Today we do vine and dine tours as well as supply award winning wines with bespoke labels to clients in Ireland.
Shane can organise wine tours and tasting of Saint Emilion upon request. He also has a keen interest in wine and particularly wines from the region.

Why they chose this property

Set in a quiet hamlet overlooking sunflowers, vineyards and walnut groves. It is a brilliant location for exploring the Dordogne. Numerous activities for those that want to be out such as nice trails for walking or hikes around the house, fishing, golf (we have 4 sets of clubs) zip wires, canoeing, picnic on the Dordogne, cycling, wine-tasting and local markets for foodies (day and night). The world famous town of Saint Emilion (a Unesco heritage site) is 25 minutes drive away.
Also within easy reach are the bastide towns of Sainte Foy La Grande, Bergerac and Eymet. 1 Hour away is the city of Bordeaux and the prehistoric caves of Lascaux. Also close by is a lakeside beach resort as well as a 27 Hole championship golf course with Michelin Star restaurant.
We are approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes from Bordeaux Merignac airport and 30 minutes from Bergerac Airport (car hire is readily available from both airports).
As hosts, we have lived in the area for seven years and are very happy to help out with recommending local places to go/eat/explore. Alternatively this location is the perfect place to relax and have a glass of Rose or to read about the rich history of the many vineyards.
