Cute Westside Craftsman, Walk to Downtown, Large Garage, Cruiser Bikes!
Cute Craftsman in the quiet River West area two blocks from the Deschutes River at First Street Rapids park. New kitchen countertops, sink and faucet. Although the home has been remodeled over the years, it still maintains the charm of an original "lunch box" home built by loggers during their lunch breaks in the 1920's. An easy 5 minute walk to downtown or take the river trail for a nice stroll or bike cruise anytime. Enjoy all that downtown has to offer: shops, galleries, restaurants or head out to to Bend's famous breweries or mountain bike trails. The Deschutes River with Drake Park, hiking and biking trails, kayaking and tubing are just a short walk away and Mt. Bachelor ski resort is only a 30 minute drive. Your stay includes the use of two cruiser bikes with helmets and locks, a perfect way to explore the area. In the winter, you'll appreciate the large garage to store your skis, fat bikes, snowshoes and to keep your car ready to go! We also provide riding and hiking maps of the area and would be happy to suggest riding trails that fit your abilities if asked. Bring your kayak and test your skills at First Street Rapids.
The Saginaw home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms so you won't need to share a bathroom-a rare find in original Bend Craftsman homes.
Amenities include a washer/dryer, refrigerator, and TV with basic cable. The smart TV also has internet capabilities to access your Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime or other subscription services-just log in. Enjoy the Charcoal BBQ and window a/c in the living room during the summer. The master bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed and a private bathroom. The second bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and access to the yard. In the winter months, the beds have down blankets with additional blankets for use if desired. There is a desk in the office area in case you need to bring your work with you. There is free high speed wireless internet available for use during your stay.
In the warm months, enjoy the outside seating area and BBQ. The flower bed is a pleasure when in bloom and the apple tree and cherry tree may have fruit for your enjoyment.
The Saginaw Home is kept immaculately clean for all our guests. Well trained dogs that are kept off the furniture during their stay are welcome with an additional pet fee.
Please check our calendar for available nights. Come be our guests and have fun in Bend!

Extremely thrilled with the location and comfort of the home. The house was well equipped and the beds were extremely comfortable. I slept like a baby the whole trip. The location could not have been better. We were so close to downtown and all he wonderful shops and restaurants. The owner was very communicative and accommodating. We are so happy with everything!!
My adult daughter and I stayed here during her summer vacation. This was a perfect location for downtown restaurants and short treks. We absolutely loved the house and location, and we are hoping to make it back again next year.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the quiet walk along the river-one of my favorites. I hope that you were able to snowshoe even though the snow is compacted right now. Hoping for new snow soon!
Just a great experience staying in this cute little home and when we ran into trouble Pat, the owner, ran right down and helped us out which was awesome. Close to everything you could want to do. Great stay.
We stayed for a month and really enjoyed being so close to the walking trails along the river and all of the downtown attractions. Would recommend for a visit to Bend!

Lori and her husband were wonderful guests! They were able to experience all the weird weather that Spring brings to Bend. I would highly recommend them and would welcome them back anytime.
Nice location for our mother/daughter getaway. Peaceful with a lovely scenic area, even some friendly deer. Communication was great and location ideal for walks and access to town.
We came to Bend for a long weekend and to reconnect with friends. This location is perfect for walking to the nearby parks by the river and to downtown. Easy access in and out of the downtown area. And it was great our dog was welcome too. Thanks so much!

Great location
We enjoyed our stay at this house. It was warm in the bedrooms without air conditioning, but we managed with fans. The location was great with access to running/walking trails and parks.

I'm glad you enjoyed the trail access. Bend is warm in the summers as it is the high desert so I'm glad you were able to use the air conditioner (not often found in vacation rentals) along with keeping the curtains closed and windows shut during the hottest part of the day to keep the home even cooler.
This lovely, well-appointed home had everything we needed and the owner was so hospitable. We just loved being a couple blocks from the Deschutes River Trail. We look forward to returning again!

Bend has something for everyone! I'm an avid mountain biker and skier. The hiking and biking trails, river and friendly people make Bend a truly unique place and it's perfect for adventurous people.
Why they chose this property
I fell in love with this craftsman home back in 2012. It needed a little TLC but I knew that I would love the location. The great location is perfect for walking to downtown, running or biking on the Deschutes River trail with my dog, and biking to the many concerts and events in the area. There is always room to park and it is quiet in the evenings. The neighbors are wonderful. The house is kept very clean which is extremely important to me!
What makes this property unique
Location, location, location! This home is close to downtown and the river but without the parking headaches and noise of the Historic District or Galveston area.
