Charming Farmhouse with Pool, Stunning Views & 10 Minute Walk to Village Centre

Located in the stunning hills of central-western Tuscany and on the outskirts of the village of Radicondoli in the province of Siena, is Podere Ortone.

Ortone is a charming, eighteenth century, stone farmhouse set in an olive grove with beautiful views to the south and west. The estate consists of a main house with attached apartment, a swimming pool and a loggia for al fresco dining with spectacular views. Its secluded position away from other properties or roads, makes it ideal for a family holiday or for friends who want to relax in a tranquil, unspoilt part of Tuscany. The five bedroom, four bathroom property combines typical Tuscan architectural features such as terracotta floors, wooden beamed ceilings and open fireplaces with modern amenities such as en suites, bedroom air conditioning, wifi and satellite tv.

Linen, towels, pool towels, heating & electricity, mid weekend maid service (for two weeks or longer guests), use of amenities and a welcome pack (for one week or longer guests) are included in the rental price. Outgoing phone calls and the use of the swimming pool out of season are not included. In 2023, the pool is open from May 1st until September 30th.

We completed on Ortone in July 2011 and have spent several years upgrading and improving the property. It's been great fun sourcing antiques, furniture and art from local dealers, craftsmen and artists; a lot of which has been bespoke.

Radicondoli is a pretty village and we've made some really good friends, both locals and ex pats.

Why they chose this property

We discovered the charming village of Radicondoli when we stayed at La Suvera in Pievescola and fell in love with the area. When we began our house search in earnest, we were fortunate enough to come across Ortone which lies to the south of the village in a very sunny, yet sheltered position. The property had been restored in the early 1970s but needed a significant refurbishment. We have spent a considerable time at the house across all seasons and it really feels like home.

What makes this property unique

The tranquil and private setting and outstanding views as well as the proximity to the village, made Ortone ideal for us. Relaxing with family & friends in the loggia, whether it's for a bite to eat, a pre-dinner Martini or just playing games there or happy hour around the pool enjoying the views, are the memories that are dear to us.
