Trulli of Architect

Very peaceful, old tipical house "trullo" in the middle of the puglia country. This cylindrical home is located in the countryside, very close to Cisternino.
Surrounded by nature of spectacular beauty, full of red lands and olive trees, this house is about 1 km away from Cisternino, where you will find everything that you may need during your stay.
Close by you will also find Ostuni and Martina Franca (12km), as well as beautiful rocky and sandy beaches (9km away) and the Riserva di Torre Guaceto (a natural park).
The property: This property was built in 1850, and was completely renovated my husband, an architect, in 2006. It is very stylish, and the inhouse design has mantained all the features that are typical from this area.
The house is composed by two apartment completely indipendent. The apartments have a living room with a double sofa bed and a kitchenette, a bedroom with a Queen sized bed and a bathroom with tub or shower.
There is also a great GARDEN with greats views of the countryside.
The house includes a TV set (TV only in Italian) a stereo player, an iron, an ironing board, a washing machine, garden furniture and a chimney, optional linen 20 euros per person.
The size of the house is about 120 square metres, (60 metres for apartment) plus the garden 3 Ha).

Wonderful Trulli experience

We loved our stay at the Trullo "Vita a cono". The property is unique, comfortable and very well furnished, with everything you need for a relaxing stay in the beautiful Apulian countryside. The host Michele was very accomodating and on hand to make sure that our stay went smoothly. We enjoyed the new pool and the incredible views. Good location, near to the centre of Cisternino and a short drive away from the picturesque towns of Ostuni and Locorotondo, as well as from the lovely beaches along the coast.

Perfect stay in the country

Our family loved our 4 nights in this trulli, even in cold wintry weather including a bit of rain and a lot of wind. We were warm and cosy and felt very secure from the elements. Most of our winter holiday has been beautiful and sunny. The under floor heating makes it very comfortable. The house has everything you need for a longer stay - cooking equipment, washing machine etc. The location is beautiful, private and well located for easy access to shops and touring the area. Think I could live there!

A lovely rural escape

We enjoyed the overall experience of staying in a trulli but air conditioning and a mattress that is not so hard, would enhance the place. Michele was very helpful and obliging. The apartment would have been perfect for 2 adults but too small with 3 as the living room became the 2nd bedroom. With 3 apartments, the outdoor areas could be partitioned off to give occupants more privacy as it was a little too communal. A proper swimming pool is definitely needed. Overall though, a very enjoyable 3 weeks escape to the country!

Grazie Signora Lorraine. I trulli sono case realizzate in pietra a secco e generalmente hanno i limiti di dimensione che derivano da una tecnologia senza l'uso di cemento e ferro. case di contadini, ristrutturate per gli usi moderni. E' un esempio di architettura bioclimatica con grandi muri ed intercapedini. In luglio ed agosto al meridione d'italia si raggiungono alte temperature. per cui l'avvertenza è di tenere chiuse le imposte durante il giorno perche non entri il sole, e tenere le finestre in bilico di notte per la ventilazione. Il trullo San Michele è il piu grande come tipologia rispetto alla norma e misura 80 mq. Inoltre gli spazi esterni circa 3 ettari di terra, sono conformati perchè ognuno abbia la propria privacy con eventuali spazi comuni, come l'aia adiacente al trullo san Michele. E' una situazione sicuramente poco adatta a chi vive in appartamenti nelle grandi città, ma consigliata per chi vuole condividere un'esperienza rilassante in campagna tra gli ulivi in una casa tipica del sud italia.

Beautiful home in the country!

This meticulously restored trullo is in an ideal pastoral location down an unpaved road among olive and fruit trees. We spent three days at this property and enjoyed every moment. This is a great location to relax and read. or just unwind in one of the hammocks or lounge chairs. Our host, Michele, made us feel very welcome despite our late arrival. He left some delicious local fruit for us to enjoy and some items for breakfast (milk, coffee and breads.) He also helped us make a dinner reservation on the evening that we arrived and gave us directions to local markets. The home is well provisioned and though un-air conditioned, we were comfortable with the evening breezes. We also enjoyed the very sweet cat that lives on the property. She welcomed us every morning and evening.

Wohnen mit Flair

In einer Region, die auch durch die Trulli geprägt ist, ist es eine schöne Erfahrung selbst in einem solchen Gebäude zu wohnen. Die Beschreibung der Unterkunft hatten wir so interpretiert, dass der "Trulli-Komplex" insgesamt zwei Familien beherbergen kann. So waren wir etwas überrascht, dass neben uns zwei weitere Familien dort wohnten. Dies stellte jedoch kein Problem dar, man hatte seine Privatsphäre, die gegenseitig respektiert wurde. Sehr schön sind die vielen verschiedenen Sitzecken,so ist die Perspektive auf die Trulli immer eine andere und man findet jederzeit auch ein schattiges Plätzchen. Auch die durchdachte Beleuchtung trägt zum Flair der Unterkunft bei. Schade war, dass ein im Plan eingezeichnetes Frisiertischchen durch ein Klappbett ersetzt wurde, dadurch hat ein Raum an Flair eingebüßt.

Rustig gelegen trulli, op prima locatie.

Er worden in totaal drie woningen verhuurd. Wij waren op dit moment de enige huurders. Het huis is verzorgd ingericht en sfeervol. Er is geen verkeer in de omgeving en er is veel ruimte om buiten te zitten. De locatie is ideaal om de plaatsen in de Valle d'Itria te bezoeken. Cisternino is een gezellig stadje met fijne restaurants. Aanrader. Linnengoed is niet in de prijs inbegrepen.

Stylish retreat among the olive groves

The interiors and external areas are exceptionally beautiful with a stunning and peaceful rural setting. The owner was very helpful and generously provided fruit, milk and Easter cake for our arrival. He was also extremely informative about Cisternino and surrounds. We really enjoyed our stay.

Magique trullo

Vous cherchez l’authenticité au coeur des Pouilles ? Ce sera difficile de trouver mieux. Le trullo restauré à la perfection par Michelle qui est architecte est juste parfait. Tout est de bon goût avec des emménagements modernes. En plus pour l’hiver il est parfaitement chauffé par un chauffage au sol efficace. L’environnement est exceptionnel et on est à 3 minutes du centre de Cistenino. Le matin concert d’oiseaux, pas de doute on est bien au paradis. Merci Michelle et à bientôt !

Très joli trullo au calme dans un beau paysage!

En pleine campagne au calme au milieu des champs d'Oliviers, de cactus... tout en étant à 5 minutes de Cisternino. Trullo aménagé avec goût, il est très bien équipé (et avec tous les produits utiles au quotidien). Ne pas oublier une petite laine pour le soir, il fait frais dans le trullo (mais possibilité chauffage). Extérieur très agréable, super vue... Un accueil chaleureux avec de gentilles attentions à notre arrivée. On vous recommande ce trullo.

Accueil prévenant et attentionné dans un lieu qui respire le calme et la sérénité. Pas un bruit, une vue époustouflante, une position idéale pour visiter les pouilles, un logement agréable (amusant pour les enfants qui ont adoré la "maison des fées") et très bien équipé!

Spettacolare " vita a cono "

Davvero un'esperienza unica. Entrambi i trulli sono conformi alle foto,anzi ancora meglio! Ristrutturati in maniera egregia dall'Architetto, persona disponibile per qualsiasi informazione o problematica, ma assolutamente riservato. Immobile arredato con molta cura e consegnato in perfetto ordine e pulizia. Ci sono pentole e piatti x tutti (noi abbiamo alloggiato nel "Fico d'India" in 5adulti più un bimbo di 18mesi:2 camere matrimoniali più una brandina in soggiorno). Spazi esterni arredati e bellissimo paesaggio in punta alla collina in mezzo agli uliveti. Ad un km dal centro di Cisternino, l'ultimo tratto di strada per arrivare alla trullaia(100metri)è sterrato,ma curato e non troppo sconnesso. Noi l'abbiamo percorso senza problemi con un monovolume a pieno carico. Luogo ideale per una vacanza di relax, di cultura ed anche di mare . Da visitare Alberobello, Locorotondo, Martina Franca, Ostuni... le grotte di Castellana... il mare della riserva di Torre Guaceto sul mar Adriatico.. la città di Taranto sul mar Ionio (da non perdere la visita a Castel Sant'Angelo).. e tanto altro.. insomma davvero molto da visitare, la posizione del trullo è strategica ( tutto raggiungibile in auto in massimo 1ora...).Ovviamente è indispensabile avere l'auto. Ed infine non perdetevi una visita al centro storico di Cisternino, stupendo. Come una cena in una delle macellerie/osterie. Questa esperienza di " VITA A CONO" la consiglio a tutti. Noi ne siamo rimasti entusiasti,una settimana indimenticabile.

"This is a wonderful place. The Trullo is truly of an architect. You can tell that it has been remodelled with a proud professional hand. Sometimes what you get doesn't match the description. Just look at the picture of the bathroom to get a sense of style for this place. Everything seems just right. And Margherita was an attentive and simpatica host. Also we highly recommend Cisternino. Two experiences: (1) asking for directions to a restaurant, we were walked to a place where you could see it. Now that happens in various parts of italy, but... (2) I went into a shoe store and asked to a recommendation of where to buy pants. One of the patrons says "follow me" and accompanies us several blocks to an excellent place to buy pants. This is also a good location for exploring the various towns."

"Un''oasi di tranquillita,i trulli sono immersi nella campagna,non ci sono altri alloggi a vista d''occhio. In posizione dominante con vista molto bella. La struttura è magnifica,le costruzioni sono in sasso per qui gli ambienti sono molto freschi. Gli spazi accessori,cortile posto auto ecc.., sono molto ampi. Sono presenti tutte le attrezzature necessarie per una comoda vacanza. Gli interni sono arredati con cura e i locali sono comodi. A parte il secondo letto dell''appartamento più piccolo che è abbastanza scomodo perchè è situato in un soppalco raggiungibile da una piccola scala di legno. Il paese di Cisternino è facilmente raggiungibile a circa 2,5 Km. Per raggiungere i trulli bisogna percorrere circa 500 metri di sterrato senza problemi. Descrizione per affitto di entrambi gli appartamenti in 5 persone. "

"Propreté : 5/5 bruit : aucun environnnement : isolé, très calme vue : type campagne accés : petite route goudronnée puis chemin en gravier blanc sans difficultés L'ensemble a été retauré avec très bon goût et à un excellent niveau. La vue sur ce trullo est fantastique et l'accueil des propriétaires très chaleureux. Nous le conseillons vivement tellement ce type d'architecture est original."

"Un'esperienza indimenticabile per saggiare la "vita a cono". Magnifico trullo restaurato e arredato con cura, accogliente, immerso nella campagna pugliese, in un ambiente incontaminato tra gli ulivi secolari, lontano dai rumori cittadini, raggiungibile percorrendo un breve tratto di strada sterrata e a pochi minuti d’auto dall’incantevole borgo di Cisternino. I due appartamenti sono divisi e autonomi, gli spazi esterni separati garantiscono l’intimità e la riservatezza. Il frinire delle cicale ci ha accompagnati per tutta la durata del soggiorno, sfortunatamente troppo breve!"
