In a peaceful residential neighbourhood beside the Canal de Midi. Five minutes walk to the magical historical city of Carcassonne with its weekly markets and vast array of cafes, bars, restaurants, museums and theatres. The majestic castle is also in walking distance not to mention the many activities in the surrounding area. Close to the beach, mountains and Spain - there is something for everybody.

Perfect for us

The apartment was exactly as described in the brochure. It was slightly further out than some might expect but this suited us as it was in a quiet neighbourhood. The pool was both larger and deeper than we had imagined, again great for us but not ideal for small children. Those arriving from the airport (we were taking advantage of a cheap Ryanair flight) should be aware that there were no taxis. 30 sets of people waiting, and no taxis coming in. Instead we ran for the shuttle and walked the 15 minutes from the station. Advice is either to prebook a taxi, or perhaps the very helpful host might have suggestions.

bien située,proche du centre et de la gare de Carcassonne (à pied) accès rapide vers Limoux, Castelnaudary -même le stade de rugby est rapidement joignable à pied- 30 minutes

"The apartment was clean ...

"The apartment was clean and as described; we were very impressed when we arrived. Small amounts of cleaning materials (soap, washing up liquid) were available and plenty of towels were provided, as well as extra pillows. The kitchen was well equipped and some board games were also available. The apartment had a balcony, which hadn't seemed obvious from the photos on the website, which was nice. The pool in the building, also, was bigger than it might appear in the photos- we'd thought it was hot-tube-sized but it's actually big enough to swim in. No problems with noise. It's not too far to walk to the train station (though would be unpleasent with bags in the hot weather). A taxi from the airport cost around 10 Euros. The supermarket is about 10 mins walk away. The lady who let us in was very friendly. The procedure for paying the deposit (sending a GBP cheque in advance, paying in full in Euros upon arrival, and having the cheque destroyed following our departure) worked well and was more convenient than having to pay a deposit in Euros from the UK. No complaints, everything was good!"
