This is a relaxing location near to lands end opposite the first and last pub almost but no noise. Within easy reach of many beaches, walks, and Sennan Cove.
We had a nice stay in beautiful Cornwall. You can't have a better place to stay in Cornwall if you like walking in beautiful, windy nature. The cottage is a perfect place to stay, with its charm from the past combined with up-to-date modernities. So we gladly give this cottage our best recommendations.
Absolutely gorgeous as usual (5th stay). Amazing walks - amazing beaches. Only thing is, if you can't live without the World Wide Web then it's probably not for you (download speed about 0.3MB/sec). For us that was the best bit!

Traditional Granite Cottage near Sennen
Great base for walking and beach. The Rayburn was great - the kitchen was always warm and you could dry a few clothes overnight. The cottage was a little tired and the sofa chair was only really suitable for a small child. Friendly pub minutes away for food, drinks etc.

In our exchange I had mentioned the chairbed for the fifth person.
It's a standard chairbed, not for children only.
I am sorry and disappointed you were not totally pleased with our cottage
We had a lovely stay at the cottage. It was all cleaned on arrival. We found the cottage very cosy and warm. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well equiped. The garden had a little sitting area and BBQ. A nice pub with playground just a cross the street and a shop not far away.

We were equally happy to meet you and your nice family.
Warm and Cosy. Our host Senan was kind and helpful,
he stepped in and provided his Mobile charger. Due to the poor internet (Cornwall Problem) a DVD player would have been most welcome. Don't let the tight access to parking put you off booking.

Cosy little cottage
My husband and I stayed in this cottage for a week and we found it very comfortable. It has anything you could possibly need for staying in and cooking your own meals, which we loved! I also have to mention great wifi, which was a saviour on rainy days.
The owner was communicative and helpful. Their son lives in the property next door and that also was very convenient when we had some questions.
The best thing about the cottage is the location - a nice family pub is just across the road, there's a lovely cafe just 8 mins walk from the cottage, Fish and Chips place and a small shop for essentials is also down the road. Lands End Visitor Centre is just 15 mins walk (or 3 mins drive) and the beach at Sennen Cove is also about 5 mins drive. The cottage feels like you are in a quiet and isolated spot but you are still not far from civilisation. Great stay!

Mix feelings on Ivy Cottage
Our initial impressions of the cottage we’re good. We felt it was basic, but clean and suitable for our week away. We have read that turning into the parking space was tricky, but we both managed it with minimal stress in our estate car. We have visited the area nearly every year for 20years so we know the roads and beaches relatively well. We were overjoyed to learn that the weather was set to be warm and sunny all week and we managed 8 days on the beach. The cottage is well placed for both surf at Sennen and calmer beach days at Porthcurno. Lands End is a short walk and St Just a quick drive up the road.
On our fist evening I found the previous occupants dirty towels hung on the bedroom door, which then set doubt in our minds as to how clean the accommodation actually was. During the week my husband swept the downstairs floor and found several items of rubbish behind the sofa that didn’t belong to us. A mug had been replaced in the cupboard that hadn’t been washed up, and several plates had food crusted on them.
We were never told about the recycling system until the 6th day we were there. I couldn’t find any information in the cottage on what I should’ve done. The bedlinen in the second bedroom was of very poor quality. The kitchen had what I can assume was once a chopping board but was in such a poor state I had to chop meat and vegetables on a plate, and given how blunt the knives were I’d guess I wasn’t the first. None of the mugs or plates mugs matched which gave the place a run down feel. The immediate area around the cottage although ok, was plagued with a smell of fishing equipment which was coming from the property lived in on the site of the cottage.
The Rayburn although lovely to see meant that the cottage was so hot it was almost unbearable sleep at night. We were told it burns all the time and to just open windows. This made very little difference. My family won’t return to Ivy Cottage, for the price we paid for a week it needs a big overhaul and some care given to the finer details. We have stayed in other cottages for less money that have been spotless and well cared for.
We were really pleased with the cottage and facilities and had a fabulous week with really good weather which is always a bonus. When we arrived we were met by Senan who was really lovely and showed us where everything was, would definately recommend the cottage
Very homely place to stay, very well equipped, only downer is that the mattresses on bunk beds very thin and uncomfortable need changing but we would definitely book again loved it Thankyou
Our stay in the cottage was lovely and relaxing and the cottage had everything we needed. Often when staying away from home you expect to find things a bit lacking in the kitchen and you have to compromise meals to fit with what's available but that wasn't the case here. Towels were nice and big. Location was great. We found the cottage to be nice and clean. Owners son lives on site and although we didn't need anything I'm sure if we had he would have sorted it.

Dear Sir
We equally be delighted to welcome you again in our cottage!
The cottage itself was fine a bit dated, but access was very tight to drive in, almost impossible. The host Sennen was helpful and a happy man but the area around his bungalow was very messy and unattractive to new guests.
Clean tidy neat little cottage, good level of equipment.
Only draw back is very very tight entrance to parking spot. Anything bigger than a hatchback would really struggle
Exactly as I expected. Nice old cottage in a good location for pub, shops and beach. Decor is quite old fashioned but that’s not a problem. Nice place to stay.

About the host
Hosted by Michelle ELLIS
We are the parents ( now retired ) of Senan, the fisherman, who welcomes our visitors to Ivy cottage. Ivy cottage is situated in the village of Sennen, a fishing harbour situated at the most westernly end of Cornwall.
Why they chose this property
My husband was born in Sennen Cove and he bought Ivy Cottage a few months before we got married. We lived there for two years before moving to France . Our son was born in the cottage. We used to return to the cottage every year during the holidays to see the family , our friends and to go fighing , swimming , surfing etc.. Our son has always longed to go back and live there , and he does now.
What makes this property unique
Ivy Cottage is a typical granite cottage of the region, it is very old and has been renovated. It is cosy, people say they sleep well in Ivy cottage. There is room to cook and eat nice meals, relax in front of a long fire. Outside, a small lawn, flowers and beyond the moor, ships sail by. You can walk down to the harbour , the beautiful beaches( Whitesand and Gwenver) to the lovely secluded beach of Nanjizel and along the spectacular coastal paths. A few paces from the cottage, the famous old First and last inn, a few paces further, a little supermarket/post office, a farmers' market on Tuesday mornings. In fact, once there , no need to budge!
