About this property
Country Farm House in the Ozark Mountains
Farm house located in the middle of 200 acres ready to explore. Home is updated and has 4 bedrooms. 2 car open carport. We also have another listing (VRBO#789472) that is located on the same farm.
Canoeing. The property is 5-miles from Big Piney Creek and Rushing Road bridge. Big Piney Creek is a major canoeing destination in Arkansas. Moore Outdoors is a popular canoe rental for the Big Piney. Google Moore Outdoors to find their website. Property is also approximately 1 hour drive to Buffalo River.
ATV Trail Riding. Approximately 15 miles north on Scenic Hwy 7 is the Mocassin Gap ATV Trail. Trails are well marked and easy to find. There are several waterfalls and pretty creek crossing. Brock Creek ATV trail is approximately 30-miles away. Brock Creek would be more advanced trails and the markings are not quite as good.
Fishing. Lots of fishing options available in the area. There are stocked ponds available on the property that are available to fish. In addition, fishing the Big Piney Creek is very popular (twin bridges to Rushing Road leg of creek can be relaxing fishing/canoe ride). Lastly, Lake Dardanelle State Park, which is nationally known for its excellent bass fishing is a 12-mile drive from Dover, AR.
Motorcycles: Perfect launching point for motorcycle riders wanting to explore the Ozark Mountains. Nice launching point to the following destinations: Jasper, AR, Hot Sprints, Mount Nebo, Mount Magazine.
Swimming: The best swimming hole in Arkansas is located at Long Pool that has large rocks to jump off (anywhere between 8 to 12 foot drop) that kids absolutely go bonkers over. Long Pool State Park has $3 for parking and you need exact cash as it is self service. Bring a flotation device as you need to swim creek to get over to the rocks.
Hiking: Close to the following hiking trails: Pedestal Rock (hike below bluff line to see all the caves), Glory Hole (waterfall flowing into cave), Alum Cove Natural Bridge (caves), Long Pool State Park (waterfalls), Whitaker Point (best site for picture in Arkansas to memorialize your trip).
Closest Town: Dover, AR is approximately 5-miles away. Access to grocery store and restaurants available in Dover.

The property was clean and orderly when we arrived. Everything we thought we needed and then more was provided. We adored the property and felt right at home. Any issues/questions were immediately handled by the host and we couldn't be happier with the friendly neighbors we'd see in the morning (i.e. the cows). My kids thoroughly enjoyed the stay, which is saying a lot.
We couldn't of asked for more during our stay. The home was perfect for a relaxing weekend with the friends and family. The property was absolutely beautiful!!!

Thank you so much for the review! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay.
As last time we stayed, Dale and his wife are very kind and accommodating. Lots of cooking supplies here and we love the new Wi-Fi and cable! We had a great time! Thank you!
We stayed in this farm house on a very rich in history farm in the ozark mountains, the house was very well equipped and fit our needs well, the owners were very accomodating as we had trucks and trailers with side by sides and our pontoon boat as well. We had friends and family that stayed at the other two vrbo locations on the same farm. All were very well kept and a very nice setting. They were clean and cozy.
Our family of 6 really enjoyed our stay in this home. The property was clean, well-stocked and communication with the host was easy. The home was in close vicinity to hiking and swimming holes. Our boys really enjoyed fishing the ponds on the prooerty. We really appreciated that the home was pet friendly. We were able to bring our small terrier mix along. If you are looking for a home in peaceful surroundings, i highly recommend!
My fishing partner and I along with another team came to town for a National Championship fishing event. The property was amazing and everything as advertised. Easy in-town trip to the lake every morning and plenty of food options to choose from within 15 minutes. Charles was great and checked in periodically to see how things were going. Extremely peaceful!! Would definately recommend.

Very relaxing
This was a great place to just wind down for the weekend and get away. Loved the farm, the house was so comfortable and cozy with anything you could need. The Dales showed great hospitality to make the place feel like a home away from home. The pond is really nice. Long pool recreation area is really close by. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get away and spend time out in the country away from the busy life. The house is plenty big to accommodate quite a few people comfortably. We had an awesome time!

Thanks so much for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed our place and look forward to you staying with us again.
I have stayed at this house several times with a group of dirt bike riders. While not "in the heart" of the trails we like to ride (in the Ozark National Forest), it's only 10-15 minute pavement ride to them.
We love the carport for parking our bikes.
With 2 bathrooms, a large well-stocked kitchen, 4+bedrooms, and large living room, it easily acommodates a large group. For this trip, there was only 4 of us, so it was MORE than adequate.
The proximity to Russellville for great dining options after a hard day of riding is a nice bonus.
We really enjoyed our stay here, the property was really cool and remote. The owners that live right next door were super hospitable and it was fantastic meeting them.
Downside. The driveway is gravel but there is a spot for covered parking.
The location is a bit remote to make it to all the fun roads that Arkansas has to offer, but it is a very central location, to a lot different places. We met a lot of nice people in Dover, and Russellville is close enough for food options.
I brought a group of students to auditions. This cozy and comfy house was exactly what we needed to allow the kids to socialize and explore before their stressful day.
Note: the gaming room doesnt have a door, which was fine for us, but not mentioned in the description. Also, the twin bed is very narrow, which our kids thought was cozy but someone my age and size might not have.
The owner has family nearby, and everyone was friendly as anyone could wish. Great stay!
This is a nice peaceful place out in the country. It had everything we needed. The kitchen was well-equipped, which you don't always get with rentals. We brought our dog and he loved it too. Floors are hardwood, so we brought his dog bed and that worked great. We stayed a week and kept ourselves very busy with lots of hiking and sightseeing in the area. We drove up to Branson one day to see a show. Another day we drove down to Hot Springs. This place is about midway between those. Every other day we found hiking trails within 30-45 minutes and saw some beautiful creeks and waterfalls. For other coffee lovers, the coffee maker is a Nespresso which uses pods. There were several pods already there and we got some more. On our last day we met Lawanda. She was very friendly and showed us the barn where the Wagyu cattle are kept. The kids got some cow-kisses. Overall we had a wonderful stay here. No complaints!

One of our Favorites
We rented the Farm House and hosted a family graduation party for my daughter who was graduating from High School. We had around 30 people there from all around the area. The place was perfect. We had plenty of room outside on the deck and under the shade trees for everyone to sit around and visit. The fully stocked kitchen made it so easy to cook and prepare our own food for the party. When the Fry Daddy that we brought to cook chicken quit working, Lawanda was right there and let us borrow hers! What a lifesaver!! Dover is our hometown, so having this spot to get everyone together was just amazing. Chuck is a wonderful property owner. He called and checked on us a little bit after we arrived and again after we left to make sure everything was perfect. We will definitely stay again. Next time we will stay longer and take some hikes, fish, and float. Thank you Dales for a wonderful place to stay. We have stayed in a lot of VRBO properties and I definitely give this place 5 stars!

Thanks for the review and I'm glad you enjoyed the house.
Owners are super nice and fast to respond to any questions
This was our second time staying here. Owners are so nice and accommodating. Cabin is very clean and stocked very well with basics: paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags and etc. Close to Mack’s pine and Moccasin gap for riding atvs-you have to trailer to trailheads but still very close. The property is beautiful and very well taken care of.
We had an enjoyable stay at the Dale Farm! They are very hospitable. The house is very well kept. It has a lot of cooking supplies and even fishing poles! No Wi-Fi but you can play games with your family and watch movies on the DVD. We caught some fish, but threw them back. It was fun just fishing. Great water pressure and awesome bathroom!
We rented this house for my daughter and her bridal party to stay and get ready for the wedding. Her and her husband stayed the second night. Very clean and lots of room for everyone to get ready. Great place to stay
House and location is Awsome if wanting nice quite place. House and owners are beyond nice. Will keep place in mind for next trip.

About the host
Hosted by Charles Dale
I grew up on this farm. My parents still live on the farm and help out with guests. I currently live in Dallas, TX working as a commercial banker. We hope others are able to enjoy this area as much as us.
Why they chose this property
This property was my grandfather's old house. I purchased it from my uncle in 2014. The home was built in the 1960s and is in great shape. We have decorated with old tools that were used on the farm to give our guests a real sense of the history of the place.
