Dear Rita, I have read your entire message, I am really sorry for the bad weather that occurred in the Var during your stay and the excess of rain that caused the breakage of the gutter on the roof of the adjoining apartment, as in the photo sent on your account from the company that carried out the repairs . I am just as much so that you could not use the pool for a few days, this being also the consequence of heavy rains, filtration was no longer sufficient to guarantee users the necessary hygienic conditions. All this constitutes a cause of « force majeure » not deductible from your accommodation expenses. When you contacted me during the rain, the exchange was complicated because, as we can understand, you were panicked and on a saturday night no concierge service being able to move, you had to deal with it yourselves. I was really sorry and as you knew I was in Paris. You specified to me that you enjoyed your 1st week in the appartment and wanted to stay there for the 2nd one, which was the case. You also told me that there was no leak in the ceiling that could have damaged the bed, but understandably your daughter did not want to sleep on it. I then told you that she could sleep in the bed of the living room which was also prepared. In the end when you left, we were able to assume that she hadn’t slept there because the bed was intact... Following the episode of the rain, I didn’t hear from you again until the following tuesday when you complained that the pool was not accessible... and another 2 days to send me a photo of the poster indicating that just the large pool was not available, so you could go swim by the private access to the sea. Since your reservation 4 days before your stay you had difficulties because your bank card did not authorize the amount to be paid. I however accepted your reservation 4 days before your arrival with a payment in 2 installments, the communication was from the beginning complicated. I had to call myself on the services of VRBO to solve your problem with 2 payment instead of one. When you had paid, you complained about paying 33 euros in additional transaction fees, which indeed depends on different reasons that only VRBO can control, and you asked me to make a price reduction again. We learned that the pool following the bad weather had turned and was therefore prohibited for swimming for hygiene reasons, so this is unpredictable and beyond our control, and it took time to let people swim again. Finally after your departure, my concierge and the syndic who came to the site noticed that the flow on the roof gutter of the neighbor’s roof had given way due to torrential rains: you just had to look at the roof outside to realize it. Thus we could have reacted as soon as the following monday. Fortunately, there was no more rain during the rest of your stay, and my house has not suffered a second time the damage that I will have to repair. When you left, they wanted to close the top window shutter, it was not responding and they discovered that the remote control and the room thermometer were on the ground and had taken water. These 2 elements as well as all the remote controls in the house were placed by myself on the furniture before your arrival. Your daughter should have taken care of it and not left them on the floor like she did with those clothes that were strewn on the floor in the photos you sent me. I am sending you the photo of the damage remote control and the invoice of the replacement. You continue on asking me for 33 euros upon your transaction with Abritel. I consider that we are even given the expenses incurred for the orders, not to mention that the guests who followed you had to sleep with the day that rises for 3 nights because of the delivery time for a new remote control. We always do everything possible for our guests to keep the best memory of their stay as evidenced by the comments. It’s a shame that there was this bad combination of circumstance well beyond our control.

Merci pour votre commentaire élogieux, en effet Sainte-Maxime et la région sont très agréables et animés en toute saison, et en effet notre mazet où nous venons régulièrement a bénéficié d'une installation réversible clim/chauffage avec une programmation automatique qui fait que l'on ne s'en soucie pas, nos vacanciers arrivent dans une maison à la bonne chaleur. Nous serons très heureux de vous accueillir à nouveau avec votre famille, Dominique

En effet notre bien est dans un quartier prisé parce justement à l'écart du coeur de ville et donc au calme, mais toutefois accessible à pied en 20 minutes dans une rue aisée pour le piéton.
