Gaze out at the Pacific Ocean from your private balcony as you sip your morning coffee and at the end of the day, catch the sunset while you cook dinner on the gas BBQ and hear the waves crashing .

This 950 sq ft (approx) 2 bedroom/2 full master baths apartment, is located on the 2nd floor of a triplex. There are two parking places (one in the garage and one in the driveway right in front of garage, making parking at the beach very easy. Of course, if you are combining this two bedroom with the Penthouse Studio which makes 3 bdrm/3ba two story accommodation, then you can use the indoor stairway between the two floors. (Access is locked and restricted when booked separately).

This comfortable 2 bdrm/2bath beach house could sleep up to 7 people sharing beds.

We also provide beach towels, beach chairs, beach umbrella and boogie boards.

Centrally located, you are an easy drive (or walk) to all San Diego has to offer: 1 minute to the beach, 2 minutes to the many shops and restaurants in Windansea, 5 minutes to the heart of old La Jolla village, 10 minutes to the Childrens pool - now a resting place for seals and sea lions, 10 minutes to the famous La Jolla Cave and La Jolla Cove, the La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art, the world famous Comedy Store, numerous boutiques and shops and a dazzling array of restaurants offering unmatched international cuisine.

Pac n Play and high chair are available on request.

Beyond the Jewel that is La Jolla, you are only 15-20 minutes from Sea World, San Diegos famous Old Town, downtowns Gas Lamp District and Little Italy, the Embarcadero with its floating museums and lovely SeaPort Village, and the airport. Just 20 minutes away you will find the World Famous San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park and fine shopping at San Diegos Fashion Valley. About 30 minutes away you can enjoy Legoland, Knotts Soak City or the Wild Animal Safari Park. And although we dont recommend going to Mexico, if you are so inclined and have a passport with you, Tijuana is only 40 minutes south. Better to explore the historical gold rush town of Julian in San Diegos mountains or go down the other side into Anza Borrego Desert State Park (not recommended in summer). Enjoy all San Diego has to offer from this great location.

Surfrider 2 has the ability to join Surfrider Penthouse – the studio above on the top floor with an interior stair case. This then becomes Surfrider 3 – a 3 bedroom, 3 bath, 2 story apartment with double patios and incredible ocean views.
Also provided in the garage is the free, shared laundry facilities – shared with Surfrider 1 and Surfrider Penthouse above.

The apartment is situated only a short block away from the Pacific but is in a very quiet street. The centre of La Jolla is a short drive away and there are restaurants and shops within walking distance. The apartment is well furnished and the owners were very helpful in meeting our requests.

The condo unit was in good location and views of the ocean were lovely. The beds were very comfortable and the unit was tidy and well appointed. Nice to have our own parking spot too. The only complaint was the noise and thumping from guests staying in the unit above and the spiral staircase behind the building.... we weren't expecting that.

Wonderful stay!

Great location with a clear view of the ocean and close enough to hear the surf. The place had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. Appreciated the AC and ceiling fans. Only small complaint was the driveway, though I don’t know what could be done. Scraped the bottom of my Prius every time. Janine and Chuck were very responsive to our only problem. Would definitely recommend it and would stay again.

We loved our weeks stay at Janine and Chuck’s property. The location is perfect- just 1/2 block from the beach and we loved how quiet the street is. The condo was very clean, beds super comfortable and well stocked with everything we might need including tons of beach chairs, umbrellas and beach toys. They were both very responsive and kind. The property was perfect for our La Jolla family vacation. It was a short walk to the beach with plenty of towels, umbrellas and boogy boards for all. The apartment was comfortable and very clean. Kitchen was well stocked with pans and utensils. There was a keurig (but very few pods provided so bring your own if you want to use it) and a coffee maker. It’s one street back from the beach but you can see the sea from the couch and also from the balcony. Not even a minutes walk to the beach. Windansea beach is lovely and fairly private. Overall a very good stay. Thank you!

Worth it…

Location was great, house was clean, property was as advertised. Feedback: 1.Driveway was really steep and made it so I could not park my car in the driveway/garage with scraping the bottom of my car. 2 house was very clearly however the cleaning crew does not clean the grill. I went to use the grill and it had food caked on that had been there for awhile preventing the use of the grill. Outside of that, the place is fantastic!! I would definitely rent it again

Great beach getaway for our family with teens

This condo was great! It's one street over from Windansea Beach, and on the 2nd floor with a view of the ocean. We ate every meal on the deck because of the view. It's a nice, quiet neighborhood about 5 minute drive from the La Jolla shopping streets. There is a bagel shop walking distance from the condo so we'd grab bagels for breakfast on our way out. There is also a local grocery market close by. Our 14 year old is an intermediate surfer so Windansea was a bit above his level, but we drove to several beaches in the area to surf. We drove north to Moonlight Beach in Encinitas so we could see all the other beach towns along the way. The condo itself is perfect for two adults and two kids as the 2nd bedroom has two separate beds. We had plenty of space and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. It was nice to have a garage to store the surfboards when we weren't there. I would definitely recommend staying here. La Jolla is a great area, and our teen surfer wanted to stay in the condo longer. Both our teens loved being able to just walk over to the beach whenever they wanted. The owners were super easy to communicate with so that was all seamless as well. Thanks for the great beach getaway!

This is a great condo in an ideal location. We walked down to Windnsea Beach most days, either sitting on the beach or watching the sunset. It was a central location to the best that La Jolla has to offer. Janine responded to requests quickly and gave us a couple of great recommendations. We had a great week here.
