DIRECT OCEAN FRONT 1 bedroom On Kepuhi Beach…Sunny Westside...Sleeps 4
We have the few select true beach front settings for a condo available, this one would be on the A-list! Located on the sunny and dry side of Molokai, where all of the island's white swimming beaches are located, there is a not a reason to go anywhere else. Walk out of your condo, and you are steps away from 3 beautiful beaches with crystal clear ocean water, in shades of aqua and blue. Chances are you will be alone at your beach, as Molokai is not crowded like other island destinations in Hawaii. This townhouse style condo is the largest one bedroom floor plan at Paniolo Hale, which means house of the cowboy in hawaiian. The designs of these condo's are steeped in the island's paniolo (cowboy) heritage. Classic designs, with screened in lanais, capture the trade wind breezes and the ocean seascape. These units face west, so you can enjoy the sunset setting over the ocean every night of the year, without leaving the comfort of your own lanai. Sleep to the sounds of the surf, and wake to the sounds of singing birds in the lush landscaped surroundings. These units are situated in a tropical paradise of heritage trees, and a mature landscape of tropical flowers. The canopy of trees provide a wonderful shaded setting, keeping the inside cool from the tropical sun. This is a combination that can't be beat, and there is no other like it, on the island. Inside, you will find more than 1000 sq.Ft. Of living space, with one bedroom, and two full baths. There is so much more space in these units, as compared to other 1 bedroom or studio units. This is the only large one bedroom on the ocean front at Paniolo Hale. On the first floor is a new luxury bath with a tiled walk in shower. This makes the extra queen day bed, in the living room, a viable option for additional guests. The condo can sleep 4 comfortably, and there are two full baths. The unit has its own washer and dryer, so you can pack light for your trip. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals at home. Why would anyone want to leave when they have the best location on the island! There are full size appliances in the fully equipped kitchen, and you don't have to miss the ocean view while you prepare dinner. There is a BBQ area close by if you choose to grill some fresh island fish, or grass fed island beef. There is a beautiful blue tiled pool for those that prefer a pool to the ocean. This is the ideal place to never leave. However, it is also the best place to return, after a day of exploring the islands many natural sites. Pour your favorite drink, and sit on the lanai, to offer a toast to the end of another day in paradise.
Ways to spend your time on Molokai…
Take a swim or walk a beach Explore the ocean…. Snorkeling or diving Read a book…on the beach, or on your lanai Hike to secluded Kawakui beach to spend a day at the beach Snorkel the reef on the south side Go fishing from the shore, or a charter boat Whale watch in the winter season Hike to the rainforest in the Kamakou Preserve, high in the mountains Take a cultural guided hike to the Halawa falls on the island's east end Take a kayak out to explore the shoreline Rent a bike and ride to explore Tour the coffee plantation and have lunch on the lanai Visit the macadamia nut farm Hike the world's highest sea cliffs Take a tour down to Kaluapapa by foot or by a guided mule ride Join the island kapuna for a Friday sunset celebration at Hotel Molokai Or….Just do nothing at all!

Excellent accommodations! Nicely updated and well furnished. Wonderful beach and area for shelling a short stroll from the door- great sunset views from the lanai. Bed extremely soft. No AC needed, consistent cross breeze throughout the unit. Mahalo! Hope to return again soon.
This property was everything the owner says it is and more!! I also run property rentals and this one is definitely a notch above. Mahalo so so Relaxing!

Thank you for the nice review and positive comments about the property and the manager, which would be me!

Hope to see you at another time.

Nice development very pretty setting and very quiet. Unit was clean and comfortable although a bit dated. Only issue for us was a bed with super thick extremely soft pad. No support. Yes I would stay here again.
Pristine and Beautiful Island. You will share beaches with more seals and turtles than humans. Sunsets are exceptional and you will often see the “Green Flash.” If golf and many fine restaurants are what you seek, this is not the island for you. This unit at Paniolo Hale has exceptional oceanfront views. Master Suite is upstairs and has no ocean view, but you can hear the waves.
Condo immaculate, nicely furnished and well stocked. Just need a bag of groceries and turn the key. Beach visible 100 yards from screened in veranda. Beach is Monk Seal certified. Locals surf and snorkel on these beaches (ie safe but no lifeguards), however coral reefs are on south side beaches. Leave Lanai doors open and sleep to the sound of the beach

Great location.
The vary large damage deposit for this place is unwarranted and worrisome. Luckily we did get it back a few weeks after the end of our rental.
Bathrooms are updated and great. Washer/dryer great. Furniture and MBR bed aging, OK. Kitchen very badly in need of full replacement. Place was clean after we spent 2-3 hours cleaning it - has a good vacuum onsite to use. We bought the broom.

The great location, the only 1 bedroom condo at Paniolo Hale on the ocean, is unsurpassed. I am surprised that during your one month stay you never contacted me about some of your observations, instead waiting more than a month to prepare this review.
The $ 1500 security deposit is an option, and an alternative $59 premium for an insurance policy against any damage, is offered. Most people opt for that, because it provides coverage to the owner and the guest for any accidental damage that might happen.
The one month guest that followed in January, has stayed in other units in past years, and chose this one for his stay, He liked it well enough to rebook for next year, and wanted to add another month, but it isn't available. He also used to own a unit at Paniolo Hale, and sold it last year, preferring to rent.
The owners have been updating the property over time, as their budget allows..
The kitchen is their next project, and it will take some time, and it is hard to find an open time in their calendar to allow for it to be done without some long range planning.
The living sofa just had new down filled cushions done, and it has made it much more comfortable.
For many guests, they found it very satisfying there directly on the ocean, and we have had several repeat guests each year.
We got in late and excited to finally be there. Everything looked fine at first. But, then when we started to get settled in the first thing we noticed was that it really didn’t look like the pictures. They need to update those. I was very excited to be able to open the doors to the porch and was only able to open one side due to the others being damaged. I get that things happen but you should fix those asap or state that in your listing until they are fixed. Next thing I noticed was the bugs. Listen, I get it’s a tropical climate and critters and bugs get in, but those little bugs in the kitchen that is half falling apart is an infestation not just a couple bugs here and there. They were all over the counter, our clean and dirty dishes and our food. I didn’t want to even go in the kitchen which defeated the purpose of getting a Vrbo. Also, the oven doesn’t work. Working our way upstairs the bathtub was clearly not cleaned, there was other peoples hair still in it, but I was tired and just cleaned it myself so I could shower. And then there is the bed… I like soft pillowy beds but this is just ridiculous. 2 memory foam toppers on top of the mattress that made you just sink into the bed. I am 39 and I don’t normally have issues. I hurt sleeping in that bed and so did my husband. We had to left this place early, lost money and just flat out not enjoyed our stay. I have never had an issue with a Vrbo but this place was not what we expected. They can do better with this place.

It wasn't until I received this review that I realized there were issues with this unit that the guest was not happy with. A couple of days after arriving, I received an e mail saying only that they would be leaving the unit early. I sent back a response asking why they were leaving, and received no response until i saw the review 3 weeks later.
Had they shared their unhappiness with the unit, we may have been able to address some of the issues mentioned. It isn't helpful to us when a guest does not let us know about their concerns when they arrive.
We have guests who return every year to this unit, and one that comes back twice a year.
The unit had been empty for a couple of weeks so it is possible there were some unwanted insects that can be much more active in the Summer months. The condo association has a regular schedule of pest treatments during the year. I am sorry that they became a problem and just wished they had let us know.
Quiet place to enjoy enjoy ocean views and listen to the waves crashing on shore
This is the middle unit in one of the few buildings on Paniolo Hale that have direct ocean views. We spent hours sitting in the lanai watching the ocean and watching whales on the distance. This was the best part of every day. The unit was comfortable. Both bathrooms had been remodeled recently and are nice. The kitchen worked well but I will say that the utensils could use an update. Has an old can opener from the 80’s that just needs to go and a toaster that could only toast 1/2 a piece of bread at a time.
But those are little things when you have the ocean, peace and quiet and beautiful west views. If you’ve never been on the west side of Molokai realize that there are no restaurants, charter activities, etc. When you come here you come for quiet time, uncrowded beaches, long walks and time for yourself. Just what we want.
The checkin was a bit challenging - we had been given information to access the wrong unit. We walked up to the unit we had info for and there were people in it. Knocked on the door - luckily the property manager for the unit we were supposed to be in was in the unit we had directions to so that got sorted out real quickly. Was a bit unsettling but just a bump in the road on what was a terrific trip and place to stay.
We’ve stayed at the Kephui Beach condos, been in a condo at Ke Nani Kai and like Panoloi Hale the best.
This was our first visit to Moloka'i and had a great stay. Clean, well equipped and spacious accommodations, relaxed atmosphere throughout the island and beautiful beaches. The screened in patio is a great place to relax and watch the waves, surfers and roaming turkeys.
This was a very nice unit that has an amazing view of the ocean from the lanai. No A/C -- it does cool down some at night but if you are not used to sleeping hot this may be an issue. My wife and I had two very big problems -- we checked in at 4:30p only to find the unit not cleaned from prior guest. The host originally said she could clean it the next day (so I guess we would sleep where that night -- it is Molokai) and eventually agreed to come out late to clean -- which forced my wife and I to sit in a bar until 10p until we could check in. Issue 2 was we were sent an email one evening telling us the power would be off the next day -- we had about 12 hours warning. We were never offered any compensation or makegood for either blunder -- so be aware.
Breezy, beachside rental property. Our contact with other people was limited to seeing them at the pool or walking along the beach. Mostly we were observing wildlife to include birds, turkeys, deer and a monk seal that rested on the beach for 1/2 a day. Loved the condo and can not wait to go back!
Beautiful condo, one of the best I have ever stayed in Hawaii in the past 30 years. Clean, comfortable, well appointed, everything one needs is comes with the unit and a great view.
I love Paniolo Hale and the quiet enjoyment of ocean, beaches and tropical breezes! This condo fronts the beach and is the perfect location. That said, it could use a real cleaning and a little updating. And it is great for two guests, but the living room sleeping really doesn’t work for additional adults - maybe kids. Would love to return.
The ocean view from the deck is hard to beat. We spent many, many hours on chaises reading or just looking at the ocean. Also, there is a small table with chairs on the deck and we enjoyed having coffee or fruit there.
Good quality washer and dryer, ample supply of towels.
We got helpful tips from the host.
