Beautiful coastal cottage in the stunning location of Alnmouth. There is a fabulous secluded woodland garden with wildlife. We have an amazing treehouse and tyre swing within the garden and a secure bike shed. There are wonderful scenic walks and it just 15 minutes walk to the train station and best of all only 5 minutes to the village and beach.

Tucked away in one of the prettiest and most iconic seaside villages on the Northumberland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Five minute stroll from the cottage to the beautiful golden sands of Alnmouth
Accommodation
Midwood cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished in a fresh and pretty New England style. There is a lovely light and airy kingsize bedroom with a luxurious en-suite shower room
The open plan lounge kitchen/diner is spacious, with comfortable seating and a round dining table that seats four. A door opens onto the wonderful secluded woodland garden
The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, electric cooker and washer/dryer. There is free WFI and Netflix for guests to enjoy.

Access for Midwood holiday cottage is down a long private drive that is shared with Midwood lodge.
Parking for two cars on site .
There is a huge secluded woodland garden surrounding the property, an absolute paradise for children of all ages. With a fantastic treehouse, a Tarzan swing and lots of room for outdoor games
There is a lovely patio area so you can enjoy alfresco dining during the summer months and there is a biked shed for cyclists in the garden.

Alnmouth is an extremely pretty seaside village on the Northumberland coast, lying within an area of outstanding natural beauty.
It benefits from a variety of shops, cafes, good pubs and it's very own art gallery. There are two golf courses in Alnmouth but its crowning glory must be the beautiful golden beach. The beautiful village of Alnmouth has excellent local restaurants, traditional pubs and gift shops.
A large supermarket deliver groceries to the area on request and there is a large Sainsbury's in nearby Alnwick. In the same location is a large new leisure centre with swimming pool.
Alnmouth is famous for its Arts festival which takes place in June.
Midwood Cottage is situated close to the beach, golf courses and park. It is the perfect base to explore Northumberland from, with many attractions in the area, Alnwick Castle and Gardens are just 10 minutes drive away. Bamburgh a beautiful village which has the Grace Darling Museum and it’s own imposing castle, and many stunning walks along the numerous close by beaches.
Visit Lindisfarne - Holy Island, with its amazing history of Christianity in Anglo Saxon times.
There are several golf courses in the area, including Warkworth, Foxton and Alnmouth and also many cycle tracks. We have awards for 'Families Welcome', 'Walkers Welcome' and 'Cyclists Welcome' from Visit Britain.
Alnmouth has a railway station with regular trains running south direct to Newcastle or Durham or north to Edinburgh if you fancy a day out.
Beamish Museum is also a great place to visit in County Durham it is a world famous open air museum, telling the story of life in North East England during the 1820s, 1900s & 1940s.

The Storey family love sharing the property with guests and try to make it a home from home. We always leave a lovely welcome pack for guests to enjoy and provide tea and coffee and homemade cakes. ( And a bit of alcohol ).
We have wonderful memories of seeing our children grow up and have fabulous photographs of children playing football on the beach and beautiful village scenes through the seasons.

Why they chose this property
We love the village of Alnmouth and the privacy that this property gives with lots of outdoor space and parking which is rare in the village. The huge garden is such a pleasure as we live close to the city and typically have small urban gardens. The tree house is wonderful for children to play in. We have a big shed which guests can use for storing bikes and walking gear.
