Characteristic and small group of farmhouses set inside a large property which covers an area of about 460 hectares near Castellina in Chianti. Panoramic position amidst the vineyards and gently rolling hills of Chianti Classico (350 m a.s.l.). The structures has been restored and furnished in accordance with its typical Tuscan features. FONTANI (independent house) and BOSCHI (portion of farmhouse) share the outdoor areas and a fenced swimming pool (6x12)(01/05-13/10). Possibility to rent pool towels upon payment (3 euros/towel). Baby bed available to be requested when booking. It is possible to purchase the estate produce. Possibility of guided tasting tours of the medieval cellar with wine and olive oil produced on the estate. Shared laundry room (washing machine and dryer) 300 meters from the house. Parking.
PLEASE NOTE: Pets admitted on payment (Euro 30/animal/per week).Arrivals must be between 3.00pm and 7.00pm. 1 baby bed included in the rates. For the second baby bed, a supplement of 35 Euro/week is requested.ACCOMMODATION: (FONTANI 140 m2, entrance from external staircase): 1st fl.: living room with fireplace (TV), kitchen (freezer, dish washer, small electric oven), 1 single bedroom, 1 double bedroom, 2 twin bedded room one of which with a bathroom with shower, 2 bathrooms with shower. Downstairs there is a storeroom belonging to the farm. Private loggia with built-in barbecue. 1 fan available in each room.LOCATION: 7 km Castellina in Chianti (grocery shops, tennis), 10 km Monteriggioni (fascinating walled town), 16 km Poggibonsi (any kind of shops), 23 km Siena, 26 km San Gimignano, 55 km Florence.

Fontani is perfect place for relaxing and exploring the Chianti region. The place are perfectly situated between wine and olive areas. Its a Short distance to all the lovely sites, Radda Greve Monteriggioni and Castellina, where you can by all the ham, bread, cake and drinks for lovely family breakfast and lunches. Castelina in Chianti is also a lovely shopping site, with exceptional restaurants and ice cream shops. We will there again next year.

Family get away to Tuscany

Loved the location. Easy access to Siena for car rental and train. Lots of great small villages to explore. Villa offered a great space but was ill equipped. Kitchen utensils and cooking appliances were seriously lacking. We had one towel each for both bathing and swimming pool. Communication could be better for how to use facilities. Serious termite issue in one shower.

Maison ancienne agréable et confortable. Excellente localisation pour visiter la région. Piscine appréciée. Quelques améliorations dans le matériel pourraient être apportées : par exemple pas de grande cafetière, 7 petites cuillères pour 7 …. Des documents sur les possiblités de la région pourraient être mis à disposition des locataires. Ces remarques n’enlèvent rien à la qualité de l’hébergement

We loved it! Wonderful view and the pool was a fantastic relief from the heat. If yoh like rustic living, I would recommend this accommodation.

La maison est située dans un tout petit village, entourée de vignes et oliviers, le cadre est magnifique La maison est très agréable, avec une vue incroyable sur la campagne toscane! Elle est proche de la piscine commune, où nous n’avons jamais croisé un autre locataire. Magnifique vue de la piscine aussi L’intérieur de la maison est simple mais avec beaucoup de charme L’endroit est central pour de nombreuses visites en Toscane Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques Je recommande vivement cette maison

An apartment with a view ...

This is a perfect place to stay ! Perfectly quiet, wonderful countryside view, very charming though not sophisticated (we missed a toaster, some electric converters ...). It is like an old family place, cool enough even in summer time thanks to the old walls ...very close from Sienna and even closer, Castellina in Chianti, a few minutes away, in case you want to have a meal in a restaurant (some good places there). The pool is shared with only two other families ...of course, the quietness and charming atmosphere will slightly depend also on whom you will share the pool with ... ! Caroline M
