Fantastic stay in a great location

I stayed at Mhairi’s property for six weeks and by the end, it really felt like home. It was a great place to get immersed in the local community, and was very convenient for travelling into Edinburgh and beyond. Mhairi was a fantastic host, and was so generous in offering baked goods and other treats throughout my stay. Thanks so much for having me Mhairi, and I can’t wait to hopefully come back again soon!

Home away from home

Location was excellent for accessing Edinburgh by bus. Also, to travel to points of interest in the area. Cosy and warm, close to beach. Mhairi was welcoming and helpful. Thanks for the hospitality!

Home away from Home

Mhairi our host, is a delightful friendly and welcoming lady. Our apartment for our months stay was bright, clean and had all the comforts of home. We did not hire a car during our stay as the excellent bus service is a four minute walk and you can buy a day ticket for £4.00 this ticket takes you to many of the surrounding towns and villages. Edinburgh is only 20 minutes by bus......perfect as trying to take your car into Edinburgh is a nightmare and parking it even worse. Great bus service with frequent buses. The beach is only a two minute walk and I have enjoyed many walks to Fisherrow Harbour and seen many sunrises and sunsets. I also walked along the road to Portobello Beach and just over the road there is a lovely woodlands walk , if you enjoy walking or strolling along you have many choices from this great location During our stay Mhairi has spoilt my husband and I with delicious home baked scones, jam and cream, shortbread This apartment has everything to make your stay comfortable We would highly recommend Mhairi’s delightful apartment and we are both rather sad to leave this morning . We only hope out next stay in Aberdeenshire is as clean, bright and comfortable as this has been, a very heartfelt thank you Mhairi We would recommend your home to all. Great location

This flat is in a great location. Just a few seconds walk to the beach! Mhairi , the owner, met us upon arrival. She was even willing to pick us up where we dropped the rental car off. The flat has everything you need. Bus stops right in front. Short walk to Fisherman Harbour and food stores (Lidl, Iceland and Aldi). Mhairi leaves a detailed book with contact numbers and directions for appliances). She also made fresh scones and flapjacks and shared some with us! We hope to stay with Mhairi in our future trips.

Why they chose this property

This is my home and I love it because it is quiet, close to the beach and nice walks, and yet only twenty minutes from all the excitement that Edinburgh which is a fabulous city has to offer. There are loads of wonderful restaurants in Edinburgh and it is such a vibrant city at any time of year. Musselburgh itself is a historic town with a Roman Bridge, harbour, beach and lovely coastline with plenty of walks.

What makes this property unique

I loved the property because it was quirky and had the annexe flat below and because of its proximity to Edinburgh. It is tucked away behind some trees and lovely and private and quiet. Not to mention the wonderful walk along the beach to the harbour or field and forest walk around Newhailes estate, both of which are very close to the property. Bus service to Edinburgh is excellent. Although we live above the flat you have your own access and complete privacy with no interference from us but close by to help if needed.
