Scenery Cottage is a lovely little cottage in the centre of the unspoilt village of Bridford, on Dartmoor. This stunning area has wonderful walking and cycling which can be reached straight from the doorstep of this charming cottage. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a cosy living room with an open fire and a fully-fitted kitchen-diner which has a woodburner. Great local pub 50 yds walk.

A very cute little cottage for walking holiday

The bedrooms were perfect for 3 or 4 friends to share. The kitchen had everything needed. Its almost next to a pub with other lovely pubs within 10 mins drive. It was quiet and peaceful.

Cosy cottage, good for walking.

We enjoyed our stay at Scenery Cottage. It is in a lovely quiet spot, perfect for exploring Dartmoor with some great walking from the front door. Wood burner a great bonus. Local pub much recommended. Andy, the owner was very thoughtful, and quick to try and rectify any problems.

Wunderschöne Lage, sehr gute Ausstattung, nette Leute und ein excellenter Pub in der Nähe!

Das Scenery Cottage ist sehr gut ausgestattet mit kompletter Küche (Spülmaschine, Herd mit Backofen, Toaster, Kühl-/Gefrierschrank, Besteck und Geschirr) - alles was Frau so braucht - incl. eines Waschtrockners im Flur. Die beiden Schlafzimmer oben haben je ein separates Bad (1x mit Dusche, 1x mit extra schöner Badewanne. Im Hauptschlafzimmer steht ein großes Doppelbett (durchgehende Matratze) und die Aussicht ist wunderbar. Im zweiten Zimmer stehen 2 getrennte Betten. Die Luft in Bridford ist sehr gut und man schläft herrlich ruhig. Ein Besuch im Bridford Inn ist unbedingt zu empfehlen, die Küche hervorragend, die vielen Biersorten unheimlich lecker und die Inhaber sehr gastfreundlich. Im Ort kann man auf einem Abenteuerweg durchs Rowdon Valley wandern, durch den Woodland Park spazieren und eine Runde Boule spielen. Das hat sogar unsere Kinder begeistert! Bridford ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für verschiedene Ausflüge: z.B. durch das Naturschutzgebiet Dartmoor (Princetown mit Dartmoor Museeum, Haytor Rocks, Widecombe in the Moor), Strandbesuche in Paignton und Teignmouth, North Cornwall mit Tintagle Castle und Port Isaak, Torquay mit Sightseeing-Bustour, Stadtbummel in Exeter mit Besuch der Kathedrale - mehr als genug lohnende Ziele in der Umgebung.

Why they chose this property

Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. Ideal for a couple, with or without children. Great walking from the doorstep and easy to reach a host of local attractions on Dartmoor. Fully equipped with all amenities, but with the added benefit of a wood burning stove in the kitchen-diner and an open fire in the living room.

What makes this property unique

Off the beaten track in a traditional Devon village but not full of other holiday-makers (in other words, a real authentic cottage in a working village). The local pub is brilliant with great beer and fabulous home-cooked food. This is a wonderful spot from which to explore this spectacular part of the country.
