Peaceful break

Lovely place, well equipped, great position for walks and pub. Lane up a real challenge and decided to park on slope down to olde ferrie inn but that meant dogs had a walk down to go to the car so that was a bonus.

Lovely dog friendly cottage

Well equipped, spacious, dog friendly cottage in a stunning beautiful area. Great pubs and lots of walks and outdoor activities on your door step. The reason we can't give five stars might be temporary but for us it meant quite a lot of trouble: due to the road closure and the narrow bypass we couldn't even get our car up to the cottage at all! We wished this would have been stated to us earlier (road closed since mid June) and a bit more precise. We hope this problem is sorted soon!

Great Location

A well equipt property which overlooks the river wye. Saracens Head easily reached via the ferry which runs directly below the property & Ferrie Inn Pub a 15min walk back down the lane. Road Access This is probably the main issue you maybe aware of & yes the road is extremely narrow in places especially as you enter the lane (Ferrie Inn Pub). Once this is navigated however it does open up more & there are a few passing points on the way. Obvious benefit with smaller cars but standard can access also such as a Vauxhall Insignia in our case.

Nice cottage but not great for us

The location is lovely and the Cottage is very nice but not ideal for a young family in the winter. There was no hot water and the shower was a dribble. There was no control over the heating settings which were set very low considering how cold it was outside. The owners did immediately respond to our request to have the heating temperature higher by changing it remotely but we had no idea what temperature it would be at which time. I found the whole 'big brother' cheap skate heating control a step too far for a holiday Cottage and have never encountered this before!

Wye Rapids Cottage

Overall impression was that it was lovely, a beautiful position with views across the valley. The cottage was obviously well maintained and with everything had been thought about. There were lots of places to go and to walk all not far from the cottage. Some lovely pubs close by serving good food and dogs welcome. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer!

Beautiful cottage

Beautiful cottage set in stunning surroundings.Very cozy and has everything you need for yourself and your dog.Lovely enclosed garden and fabulous views overlooking the river and forest, there are benches to sit on outside the property and also in the shared garden area to the front with picnic tables. The bed in the main bedroom is so comfy we didnt want to get out of it. Lovely cozy cottage with a log burner. Dog friendly pubs and restaurants on both sides of the river which you can get to via the hand ferry (2.00 each to get across dogs go free).Great walks which our dog loved amazing views from the top of the Yat steep walk up but worth it when you get to the top which has a cafe ,you can also drive up.We enjoyed our stay so much we booked extra nights.we look forward to booking again hopefully later in the year.Sandra Steve and Molly

A Fantastic Place to Stay

We absolutely loved Kerry's cottage in Symonds Yat. It had everything you could need and is in such a beautiful setting. The provision of free firewood is very generous and the woodburner was very welcome to warm the chilly May evenings! We were there to walk some of the Wye Valley, which didn't disappoint us. We will be back if annual leave allows! Thank you for making our stay so comfortable and being so welcoming.

Fantastic Holiday

Yet again we found the property extremely clean and well equipped, everything you could possibly need was all supplied. The surrounding area is as beautiful as ever and the surrounding pubs were good especially the olde ferries inn where we ate 3 times.

We had a really lovely few days here. The house is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need. Very clean and a home from home. The location is perfect with just a short walk to a good pub with excellent food and service, the hand pulled ferry is a very short walk from the property. Kerry & Adrian love visiting Symonds Yat with their dog Padstow!

Why they chose this property

We have been visitors to the Wye Valley for many years now, and when the opportunity arose in December 2015 to acquire 7 Wye Rapids in this premier location we just had to make it happen.

What makes this property unique

Wood burning stove and a free log store in the rear courtyard. As our cottage is on the end is has gated side access (great for bikes, canoes or muddy boots / dogs!). We've recently upgraded the broadband to high speed fibre optic and provide lots of home comforts for you and your dog!.
