Completely Renovated, 5 min walk to beach

1021 Scaup Ct in the Sparrow Pond neighborhood has been newly renovated with updates throughout including newly added fourth bedroom and half bath. Great location, pool and beach access nearby!

Charming cottage is situated in one of the best locations on the Island and is a favorite spot to many vacationers. Located in the popular Sparrow Pond community and close to all of Kiawah's amenities as well as Freshfields Village, this gorgeous cottage offers upscale furnishings, renovated kitchen and baths, Wi-Fi internet, and a spacious screened in porch. There are four bedrooms with plenty of room. Both bathrooms have had a full renovation and have a spa like feel. The kitchen is fully equipped with top of the line appliances and all you need to prepare meals . Full sized washer and dryer.

If you absolutely must work from the home, the twin bedroom does have a comfortable office chair, desk, and a small printer available. This cottage does allow one dog up to 50 lbs (or two smaller dogs) pet fee is included.

Take a short five minute walk or quick bike ride and you'll be at the ocean's edge in no time.(0.3mi) There are 10 miles of glorious beach to enjoy and you can ride your bike right on the hard packed sand. Enjoy neighborhood community pool at the end of your day on the beach or at one of the many golf courses.

When you stay with ESPM for 3-21 nights you will receive a valuable credit of up to $210 (amount dependent on length of stay) to use toward beach gear, bikes, etc. Credit may not be available for last minute bookings, 48 hours notice is required.

As our guest, you will have access to 5 Championship Golf Courses – including The Ocean Course – the location of the 2021 PGA Championship; The Kiawah Island Resort Tennis Center - #1 ranked by Tennis Resorts Online; Free Wireless Internet Access; Our Local Property Management team is on hand in case of emergencies and their friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff can assist you with any needs throughout your stay. Additional housekeeping services are also available during your stay (mid-week clean or daily trash and tidy). No access available for resort pools or fitness center.

Thank you for your feedback, I wish you had let us know about pest issues as we could have easily sent a pest control tech to help, during your stay the weather was extremely wet and that can cause some issues if any doors or windows are left open, generally that home has very few reports of any pest problems. Though its average size currently for the cottages on Kiawah, the homeowners are preparing for a renovation and adding an extra bedroom and bath this off season, it will be really spectacular and a bit roomier as well!

The house comes with all the amenities you might need, which made it easy to cook dinner or even wash a load of clothes!

The home was well maintained, and very clean upon arrival. We were just a short walk to the beach, which made it great for little kids. I contacted guest services a few times for some general information on the area, in which they were very helpful. One third night I contacted maintenance after hours due to the thermostat in the home malfunctioning. Their response was very quick, and the issue was easily resolved. This was a care free vacation for us.

Wonderful Kiawah Island Property

This past weekend was the 38th staging of the Marathon Race at Kiawah Island, and my first half marathon at Kiawah. I wanted it to be a great experience, and the property we stayed at was ideal! Hillary Harling was my contact about the property thru ESPM Property Management and my dealings with her could not have been better; even last minute parking passes were provided within minutes of requesting them!!!! As for the property itself, it is a charming 3 bdrm villa with many updated features. There were 6 adults and we felt comfortable; not like we were on top of each other. I plan to participate in the marathon again next year and will certainly consider this property unless we need an even bigger space. However, even with that as a potential issue, I will contact Hillary Harling for any of our rental needs at Kiawah Island............definitely a 5 star experience. Bill Lampley

Great location, great layout, could be a bit cleaner

We overall had a pleasant week in this unit. Below are some comments which I hope you might find helpful. First, some pros: 1. The unit is unique in that it has four bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms. This was particularly nice for our family of now 4 adult couples. 2. The unit was well-equipped with kitchen amenities and adequately equipped with bedding items. 3. We were able to gain access into the unit well before the check-in time of 4:00 pm, which is a great plus for vacationers with a carload of cold groceries! Now for the cons: 1. The listed address of ”1021 Sparrow Pond” is inaccurate and misleading. It is not an address acknowledge by any GPS system. 2. Reviews of this unit on the internet claimed that it was “dirty”. We found the level of cleanliness to be fair, but I am attaching pictures of items as an example of people’s postings on the internet. The first is a literal pile of sand beneath a rug that has to be pulled back to enter the master bedroom. The second is a picture of the mold and mildew in the shower curtain in the master bath. Hopefully these comments might helpful for them to improve this unit and the service.

The pictures are wrong though, we were counting on 2 bedrooms with twin beds (as shown in the pics) but only had 1, the rest with queen or king. We specifically chose this house for the bedroom layout for the 4 kids, but ended up having to sleep an adult on the couch to make it work. Very disappointed! Also, the oven makes the house smell like gas everytime it’s in use, so there must be a leak somewhere. The grill needs to be replaced, it barley worked. There’s not enough seating for the number of people it can sleep, either. Overall ok, not great. I would only stay here again if I needed the 4th bedroom, as there are better Sparrow Pond cottages.

Upon checking into our cottage - 1 BR doorknob fell off when touched. This prompted me to check the rest of the property. Only other flaw was gas grill would not ignite + no matches/lighter stick provided. Contacted the phone # - which was answered on a Sun. afternoon. Fellow stated someone would come by between 10-Noon the next day. Non one came the entire week.

Lovely Kiawah 4 bedroom with great close beach location, great layout, delightful two porches, do recommended new mattresses for the twin beds, very soft. TVS in every room practically, and the one outside on the covered porch came in wonderfully handy with a small child who could watch Disney. Nice overall

The condo was in great shape, well decorated with a wrap around deck.. It felt much larger than it was.. The island itself was stunning and our condo was very close to great beach entrances and a pool and tennis club(one of many on the island). We look forward to visiting again and would definitely stay here again and would recommend this place and ESPM to anyone.

Not exactly but it worked.

I called the property manager twice with no reply. Someone did come to the house but never came back. There was only 1 key in the lock box and there was supposed to be 2. They never resolved it and did not contact me again. The space was adequate but not as large as I expected. The kitchen was small - not big enough for multiple people to be cooking together. The pots and utensils need to be replaced. They are well used and although a rental still need to be usable. We made the best of it. The towels provided were literally one per person (wash cloth, hand towel and bath) with a few bath under the sink. Thank goodness for the washer. Listing said coffee pot not keurig but it has BOTH. And although listing says beach towels provided there are NO beach towels. What I did like is that the bedrooms are in the 4 corners of the house but with doors open everyone was still together. The house was cleanish. Everyone has a different standard. The owner should consider more than just a broom - maybe a swifter wet or hand vac for light cleanup for the renters. Walk to the beach less than 5 minutes. Very private. We did sit by the pool once to enjoy the sun without the wind. The cougar golf course is literally a 4 minute walk away. All the courses were great. Strong suggestion read the paperwork you get and order food for delivery. The food store is a disaster the day of checkin. We had a total of 5 people. If I had 6 or more I would pick another house. The main bedroom had a private bath. The other 3 rooms share a small bathroom with shower. There is a powder room that was helpful but more than 6 would be tough sharing the small shower.

HI Michele, thank you so much for the helpful feedback on our lovely cottage in Sparrow Pond! Yes, this cottage is on the smaller side and we price it accordingly. Considering the distance to the beach, community pool access, and easy access to the amenities you described its a great value for a family looking for a simple getaway destination in a great, central area near the best of what Kiawah has to offer. Unfortunately you arrived over one of our busiest weeks here, spring break, and so not only were food stores crowded with spring breakers but our maintenance staff was at capacity for the Easter holiday weekend and were unable to bring over a key right away. There is another key in the box now, they do tend to "get legs" between guests from time to time and over a holiday weekend the hardware store may not be open to make any extras. I am having housekeeping inventory the house for needed supplies so it will be ready to roll for the next guests, we hope you enjoyed your visit to Kiawah and will be back soon.
