Charming characterful cottage overlooking Cornish countryside and sea view.
Our change day within the busy summer period is Sunday for less stressful travelling. In the shoulder seasons we are more flexible as long as bookings are for five or more nights,
Treglindon is a much loved family cottage set in the hamlet of Rosecare surrounded by open countryside lying within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Only three miles from Crackington Haven. Walking the South West coastal path is viable as the local coastal bus service runs through Wainhouse Corner which is a half-mile walk from the cottage. The cottage was extended and enjoys spacious rooms which are all presented to maximise views of the surrounding garden, open countryside and the sea view down the valley. Downstairs there is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a shower room and a large double aspect lounge with three sofas, wood burning stove and sliding patio doors. The well-equipped triple aspect kitchen also has sliding patio doors. Upstairs the master bedroom has two balcony Velux windows giving panoramic views (an ideal place to watch the sun set into the sea) and a large well equipped bathroom with bath and shower. The whole cottage has been decorated to reflect the countryside and coastal environment using prints by local artists and Vanessa Arbutnott fabrics. Furnishings have been chosen for quality and comfort including Hypnos beds, quality bedding, duvets and pillows. Electric blankets are available and appropriate summer/winter tog duvets. The kitchen in our ‘ home from home’ cottage is fully equipped with modern quality appliances including induction hob, fan assisted oven, microwave, fridge, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher and washer dryer. There is a generous supply of crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking utensils enabling easy catering for six people. Treglindon sits at over 500 feet with stunning panorama views over the countryside down to the sea and one cannot help but be spellbound by such a natural environment. Whilst sheep fill the fields, eager-eyed and alert observers might be lucky to spy fox, deer or even stoat. The large garden is both ideal for adults, who may like to relax and soak up the tranquil scenery, and children, who may like to safely run off steam and play games. There is a large picnic table as as well as a BBQ for outdoor family meals. Garden reclining chairs and other garden paraphernalia are stored in the shed ready for guest use. A hedge screened part of the garden is ideal for sunbathing. There is ample car parking for three cars. Beach toys, surf boards, sun umbrellas and wind breaks are available in the shed to use on a replace if damaged basis. Just a 45 minute walk downhill through fields and woods or a 10 minute drive leads you to Crackington Haven. It has a gem of a family beach with majestic cliffs, warm rock pools, pebbles and sand. There are two friendly cafés and a pub for refreshments. During the summer season there is an RNLI life guard service. There are two car parks and free toilets. Within a short drive from Treglindon, the well-known and picturesque villages of Boscastle, Tintagel and Port Isaac can be found as well as the Victorian seaside town of Bude which boasts three beaches, a canal and a variety of small shops and supermarkets. Part of the fun of a holiday in North Cornwall are the many places to explore within easy reach of our attractive and comfortable cottage. Popular places guests have enjoyed include Bodmin Moor, Rock, Polzeath, Padstow, Clovelly and various National Trust properties.

Beautiful residence with amazing views and garden. Wonderful hosts who genuinely care for their guests to have the best stay. Incredible holiday at this property. Highly recommend.
We have have stayed many times in and around Bude, but this was just perfect. The house is fantastic and located perfectly for all the you need to see. We would definitely recommend and will definitely be staying again.
It was pleasure to stay at the lovely cottage. We were excited about the fantastic landscape and numerous activities and sightseeings we made in the surroundings.
Property as described, well presented and vey well equipped. Lovely view over countryside from kitchen and lounge. Easy access to North Cornwall and South Devon.
Very enjoyable stay.
Charming cottage with lovely decor and many thoughtful touches. Wonderful country views form kitchen and garden were really therapeutic. Highly recommended.
Better than photographs!…everything we needed and more….regular home from home with quality products and furnishings..spotlessly clean….comfy beds and bedding. Beautiful garden with far reaching views. Within easy reach of beaches and great places to eat..and yet quiet and peaceful. Hope to return.
We felt very much at home in this beautifully furnished house with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The fireplace was our favorite place to hang out, chill, chat, read and to have a cup of tea. The house is a perfect base for trips to Crackington Haven by the sea, Exmoor National Park or the south of Cornwall. Be sure to visit the farm shop (incl. the café/restaurant) in Boscastle!
This is our 2nd time at Treglindon and it’s just as clean and comfortable as the first time. We love the view from the kitchen and upstairs bedroom of the rolling hills, sheep grazing on the fields, and the sound of birds chirping. It is a very peaceful and pleasant cottage. It also had everything we needed for a home away from home.
Amazing fully equiped cottage with beautiful furnishings and views. Garden peaceful. Quite well located. Shop local with post office and yummy cornish pasties. Beautiful crackington haven beach short drive. Just looking at re booking for next year!
This property was immaculate, and the views were stunning. Everything that was needed was provided to make it a proper home from home experience. All of the equipment and utensils were of high end quality. Check in process was easy and communication with the hosts was second to none. We were not disappointed with this beautiful cottage it was exactly as listed and the location provided easy access to nearby beaches, towns and walks. There were plenty of pubs, cafes and farm shops nearby that provided high quality food and good atmosphere. Equally it was easy to use the facilities and equipment at the cottage to cook our own food. We would have no hesitation in rebooking in the future. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.
Clean, comfortable and well-appointed with lovely garden and views
We spent of lovely late autumn week here exploring North Cornwall. The cottage is clean, comfortable and well-appointed. In particular the beds were great with cotton sheets and the kitchen dining space was a lovely spot to eat, drink and play games while looking out over the garden and the surrounding fields. The garden was busy with birds highlights were chiffchaffs, a goldcrest and some visiting redwings! The cottage has character but also all the mod cons and was well stocked with basic provisions. A lovely place for a family holiday!
Treglindon is clearly a much loved family holiday home, superbly well-equipped, quiet and yet ideally situated for easy access to the spectacular coast nearby and to the A39 Atlantic Highway for trips further afield.
The owners have thought of everything to make visitors feel at home. We had a fabulous holiday there.
Everyone in our group (kids ages 10,11, my husband, and Grandad) all gave this place 10 out of 10. It's beautifully presented and maintained, and has everything (and I mean everything - a cupboard full supplies for packing picnics, a cooler, a shed stocked with beach chairs, boogie boards, and lawn games, lots of books and games for rainy days and more). You can walk to the pub, walk to Crackington Haven (it took me about an hour) and has beautiful views. We will most certainly be booking again.
Beautiful well equipped cottage, with a lovely garden with peaceful views, close to Crackington Haven & Crooklets beaches. Perfect property for family holiday!
We had a fantastic stay at this wonderful cottage. Before we arrived David and Jill were so accommodating and sent us all the info we needed! The cottage was stunning, with amazing views, and lovely garden (which is a sun trap, especially in the summer evenings!) and was immaculately clean when we got there. There was everything you need for your stay - including books, games and DVDs - as well as lots of outdoor games and beach equipment (tip - you don’t need to bring any beach stuff as they have so much you can take!). Location is great to visit all the main areas - Port Isaac, Padstow, Bude, Tintagel - we also recommend Black Rock and Polzeath beach as two greats places!
All in all a wonderful stay!
We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely, well-equipped house. It was wonderful to watch the garden wildlife and deer in the distant fields. The location was great for visiting all of the North Cornwall places we love.
Everything has already been said about Treglindon and we don’t really have anything else to add. All the 5 star reviews are 100% spot on; this is indeed a 5 star property in a 5 Star location with an abundance of 5 star breathtaking places to visit right on your door step.
That said, there is one thing I will add which I think says it all. With so many holiday homes to choose from In the UK and so many beautiful locations to explore, as a family, we have always made a point of never returning to the same place twice. However, where Treglindon is concerned, we will end up breaking the habit of a lifetime! Thank you David and Jill, my family and I enjoyed our short 5 day stay so so much and will return one day for certain.
We had a wonderful week at Treglindon. The cottage is equipped to an exceptionally high standard and is obviously a much loved family home as opposed to just a holiday rental. The beds were super comfy and the views from the upstairs bedroom are glorious. The secret garden was a lovely sheltered spot and perfect for a snooze after an energetic day out. David and Jill were really helpful during the booking process and we hope to visit again.
The photos don’t do justice to this lovely cottage, it was perfect for two adults and two older children. It was really well equipped, with a lovely garden and fantastic views. The location is excellent with easy access to the A30, but in a really quiet location, we loved our local beach Crackington Haven - ate at both cafes and the food was lovely. Excellent communication from David and Jill throughout, the cottage was spotless and had clearly been deep cleaned which gave us lots of confidence re COVID. Will definitely book again.

About the host
Hosted by David and Jill
As children we both holidayed with our respective parents in various parts of North Cornwall and wanted to share with our own children our love for Cornish beach holidays. We soon introduced this area to our toddlers staying first at Trevigue Farm and then at numerous other locations. This part of North Cornwall has certainly become a family favourite and we were delighted when we bought Treglindon in summer 2014 as our own family retreat. We have already had many enjoyable times with our family and friends. We are delighted to share the cottage with other families to create some happy and memorable moments for them too.
Why they chose this property
As soon as we saw the ever changing views from the kitchen and garden we fell in love with Treglindon. Since then we have enjoyed lovingly decorating and furnishing the cottage, making choices to reflect the nearby sea and surroundings. Living in Bath, we get down to Treglindon within 3 hours. Our first stop is often the pub at Crackington Haven where, if we are lucky, we will watch a most glorious sunset. Very quickly we unwind and become truly relaxed. The panoramic views from the cottage continually entertain us as does the varying wildlife. On sunny lazy days or afternoons when we have had enough beach, we come back and enjoy the many seating locations around the garden. A light lunch or BBQ supper is easy to prepare and serve at the picnic table. At the end of the day we all sleep soundly enjoying comfortable beds.
What makes this property unique
Only half a mile from the A39 Atlantic Highway giving easy access to North Cornwall beaches and attractions yet located in a quiet and beautiful countryside setting.
