Great Spot in Rome

The location of this property is excellent with short walks or bus rides to most of Rome’s top attractions, great restaurants and ample shopping. The apartment is very spacious and comfortable. The property team was responsive and helpful. The drawbacks for us were odors in the bathrooms and kitchen, uncleanliness of the bathrooms, and a need for upgraded plumbing fixtures and electrical service. Electrical fuses were repeatedly blown if we used the air conditioners during peak heat, which was most of our stay in the August heat.

Un peu décevant

Le logement est intéressant et bien situé mais l'installation électrique et la plomberie laisse à désirer. Les salles de bain ne sont pas très propres et pas complètement fonctionnelles. De mauvaises odeurs viennent de la salle de bain.

Large, comfortable apt in the perfect location

My husband and I spent this first week of December in this large comfortable apartment in a quiet historic building very near markets, restaurants, and historic sites. The kitchen was well stocked, the washing machine was appreciated, and the master bedroom was perfect. Communication with the owner was always prompt/concise/efficient. Transfers to/from the airport were pre-arranged and the drivers were very professional. We have visited Rome almost a dozen times and this one of our favorite apartments. We are already talking about returning next year.

Great apartment

The Avila Palace apartment was wonderful. A great location from which to see all of the sights in Rome and the neighborhood had many good restaurants. Check-in went smoothly and the host was very responsive to all communications. We highly recommend the apartment.

Great layout, a warning about street noise

We rated this 5 stars despite some issues because we felt the price we paid was very fair and our issues weren’t the fault of the host. The location is very convenient with good food and shopping on the streets and we loved the two different entrances on either end of the building. The host was responsive and great and they booked us a lovely private transfer to and from the airport. The layout was perfect for a family of four. Lots of space and two full baths. The rate was lower for mid- November stays and very reasonable. Our main issue was the street noise from Monte Giordano. On the weekend, the restaurant below our windows would play music over loud speakers facing the street. On Sunday night, the techno music was almost unbearable. It stopped at midnight, thank goodness. There was also a lot of trucks and loading and unloading that was quite noisy. We didn’t need the huge AC units in our room, but I wondered if they would drown out the noise if they were on. Maybe that’s why other reviewers didn’t mention the noise. Kitchen could have been better equipped as well. Needed an oven mitt/potholder, better tongs, another dish towel, a lid for the sauté pan, the oven door didn’t open easily. I never asked the host for these, though, it’s possible they would have been provided if I had asked.

Love this part of Rome

We had a wonderful time at this apartment in Rome on Via del Governo Vecchio. Many favorite restaurants (Mimi e Coco) and shops did not disappoint. The apartment worked for us (couple with adult granddaughter) quite well. We did have some difficulty with the room air conditioning but it was also very hot in Rome. The property manager (Ernesto) was responsive and very helpful.

Roman Holiday!

we enjoyed our stay. The location can’t be beat. The apartment is as pictured and clean and comfortable. Our daughter thought the pillows were particularly comfortable. Christina was so helpful with our transfers and orientation. We had plenty of space and the air conditioning worked pretty well to keep us cool on very hot summer nights.

Sweet spot and great place

For my first time in Rome, this place made the stay even better. It was on a great little street lined with restaurants and shops. The owner was easy to contact and very helpful with suggestions on eateries. The apartment had plenty of amenities and we were sad to leave. We will be back again in the future!

Great location and nice apartment

The host was great, and helped arrange transport to/from the airport. The apartment is in a great location, and we were able to walk everywhere. There are some excellent restaurants nearby. The apartment itself is great. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Everything was clean and comfortable. There’s a washing machine if you decide to pack light and do laundry. There’s also a grocery store right behind the building. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property to anyone wanting a great place to stay in the heart of Rome.

Hello,
My name is Stefania and I'm Italian. I currently live between Rome and Sicily for work. Our property in Rome is very dear to our family, where my husband and I raised our 2 sons. Now that they are adults and our work has taken us elsewhere, we hope that our property will pass on unforgettable memories as it has given our family for generations.
Some of my favorite things to do are to travel, watch movies in their original language, and dine out at typical Italian restaurants. In fact, I really enjoy giving suggestions on where to go and how to find the typical, hidden places in Rome.
