Friendly Fisherman's Cottage with a modern twist and large garden near the coast
Under a minute from the coastal cliff path and a short stroll down to the Elizabethan harbour, Briar cottage perches with stunning views over the historic village of Boscastle as one of the oldest dwellings in the Forabury area with the remnants of the orchard as its cottage garden. Dogs, Kids and salty Dogs all welcome. Great for families. There is a master bedroom with another spare room sleeping 2, cabin bedroom that is ideal for small people (probably not adults over 6 feet though!) a Breakfast Garden room, and a snug. Yarn away the day in a Cornish clotted dream. Recently refurbished Kitchen, ingle-nooke'd fire-place'd snug (with a TV that has internet TV only and is hidden away for those that are keen for a screen break) and Breakfast garden room with French Windows. A good spot from which to explore some of the best Beaches in the country.

We had a marvelous week at Briar Cottage in Boscastle. It is extremely cosy and tasteful with a really magical garden. Great pubs and restaurants are close (5-15 minutes walk) as is the Coastal path (5 minutes walk). Don’t miss the sunset behind from behind the church yard – it is spectacular! We hope to be back in the future!
We enjoyed a great stay in the cottage in Boscastle, using it as a base to explore the Cornish coast. The bedrooms are lovely, the shower is amazing, and the garden is a lot bigger than the photos suggest. Things that prevented a higher score: the kitchen and its utensils would benefit from a little love, and the fire alarm is very sensitive - it went off every time we made some toast! Thank you - a lovely stay.
We wanted an authentic Cornish cottage and that’s exactly what Briars Cottage is.

Old cottage with a nice garden at upper Boscastle
The cottage is at they-per side of Boscastle about 10 minutes downhill to the harbor (where it is very crowded over the day) in a nice neighborhood and mix of locals and tourists like us. People were very friendly.
The cottage is well equipped with very few things missing but that's always personal taste and preference. Nothing really to complain about.
We faced a technical issues which has been solved timely and without hustle.
When using it with four persons it might be difficult to store your personal belongings but with two persons it worked well. The queen bed is very short and not really suitable for persons above 1.8 m. Therefore we preferred to the single beds downstairs.
Parking is easy and nearby possible.
For persons who can arrange with the normal circumstances of a 300 year old cottage (low living rooms, a bit humid, slope of ground, ...) it is a nice experience. When expecting something like it would have been built today it might not be the right spot to stay.
When we are in Boscastle again we might chose the apartment again.

Wonderful cosy Cornish cottage - perfect base for exploring
A beautiful cottage with Old world charm but all mod cons. Wifi, tv, dishwasher, log burner, great shower! A gorgeous base for exploring the rest of the county. Coastal path on doorstep along with great pubs with plenty of atmosphere and good reasonably priced menus. Farm shop close by which served great local produce and has a lovely cafe. Harbour at Boscastle very pleasant. Overall a fantastic place - we will be returning

The photos simply did not do the property justice. The cottage is extremely pretty and had everything we needed. The garden is secluded and a sun trap. We had a lovely time and could not have wished for a more suitable place. Wonderful walking was just round the corner along the Stitches and then to the cliff paths with stunning views and dramatic cliffs. The local garage was stocked with all we needed and Boscastle was a delight. The neighbours were immensely friendly and at the end of our holiday I really did not want to come home - that's a first for quite a while!

Perfect cottage, great location
We had a wonderful stay in Boscastle. The cottage is picture perfect, comfortable and in a quiet street. The owner gave us great info on the nearby sites and returned our call right away when we had a question. We'd love to return someday and walk more of the coastal path.

Fabulous stay in Boscastle, charming character cottage, beautiful garden
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Briar Cottage, we were greeted by athoughtful gift of cake, biscuits and cider. The log burner was super and John quickly replenished the logs when we made him aware the supply had run out. The cottage is very charming, sleeps 4 easily with room for more, we were 4 adults plus our Border Collie! Traditional local pub The Napoleon only 5/10 minutes walk lovely food, real fire, very welcoming.
Stunning coastal path walks as it says 'just minutes from the cottage'. We enjoyed a wonderfully scenic walk along the coast to Tintagel and caught the bus back. Happy to recommend this cottage.

Cosy, stylish and memorable
We had a wonderful stay at Briar Cottage in Boscastle. The Saffron cake, Cornish cider, milk and shortbread biscuits were a very lovely surprise when we arrived after our long drive. The cottage is beautiful and we felt very much at home. We had a lot of fun keeping the fire going, enjoying cosy evenings in after windswept seaside walks during the day. The perfect place for lots of scenic excursions.
Thank you very much again for letting us share in your patch of paradise and for being so helpful with instructions beforehand.

Beautiful and characterful cottage with a large garden and fantastic views over Boscastle
A beautiful cottage which has recently been sympathetically restored. The garden is vast and there is a HUGE table to sit at which has fantastic views over Boscastle. On arrival we found cake, milk and cider as well as fresh flowers in the kitchen and dining room, all were very welcome! There were lovely clean white fluffy towels and the shower is the best we have ever experienced. The owner was responsive to any queries and made sure that we were able to get in touch should we need to.
Boscastle is a magical place with stunning scenery and is full of fantastic inland and coastal walks. Our boys enjoyed cycle training up the Boscastle hills as well as surfing and body boarding at Constantine Bay. The walk close to the cottage to the Stitches and beyond to the cliff tops to watch the sunset is a must! We visited Padstow for fish and chips at Rick Steins Fish & Chip shop - highly recommended!
All in all a perfect place for a family holiday with our 13 and 14 year old boys where activities could be tailored according to the weather.
