Farmhouse with swimming pool 2 km away from the sea

Casale Serenissima is located in Piombino’s countryside and is just 2 km away from the sea. It is the classical farmhouse of the former Ente Maremma, recognized for its architectural interest in the rural heritage of Piombino. Bought in 2013, it has undergone a profound, conservative restoration that started from the stabilization of the foundation to the replacement of the roof, using modern and energy saving products, which classifies it as energy class C. It features an LPG heating system. During the restoration, new windows were opened and the pre-existing ones were enlarged, which makes the house very luminous. The building is located in a large, fenced 2500-m² garden with many trees, a well, and automatic irrigation. In the garden, there is also a small grove with selected oaks (oaks, cork oaks and holm oaks). On the property, there are over two hundred Mediterranean plants, including the myrtle. The property also includes a large 400-m² travertine solarium with a 12x6-m swimming pool that features a salt system (without chlorine) and variable depth from 1.20 to 2.20 m. Easy access to the swimming pool is created with Roman stairs. The swimming pool is equipped with underwater lighting. In the house, the original and classical shape was modified by removing the external access staircase on the upper floor and by creating new windows. The architectural concept was inspired by a modern concept; it gave the building chromatic elements that exalt the classical structure inside the perspective of a rural house close to the sea. The annexe by the pool is inspired by the same concept (at the end of the summer, there will be an external kitchen with a pizza oven and barbecue), as well as the terraces and the large gazebo by the dining area in the solarium. The property's entrance is through an electric gate with access to the parking area with space for six cars. There are also gravel garden paths and a parking area. An interesting thing about the location is the vegetable garden (over 200 m²). At guests' disposal, they can enjoy the fruits of the earth as they wish during their stay. In the house, on the ground floor (the old barn) there is a large, glazed window with sliding doors that opens onto the south side, (a wooden arbour protects the window), and lights up the living room, the dining area (with 4 m long table), and the lounge area that features a Serena stone fireplace. There is another relaxing area with a TV. On the ground floor, there is the kitchen that overlooks the vegetable garden with a built-in barbecue. It is fully equipped (refrigerator, dishwasher, kitchen with 5-ring cook top and electric oven). The dining table can accommodate six people. The room also features a cooking fireplace decorated with tiles. It has Rapolano travertine floors, and the original terracotta vaulted ceilings. On the ground floor, there is also a bathroom. On the first floor, there are four large, double bedrooms, one of which boasts two double beds. Two bedrooms feature a double bed and one has a double sofa bed. Each bedroom has two windows and two heaters. In the sleeping area, there are two full bathrooms. The house has oak wooden floors. Inside, we maintained the ancient, stone walls and, where it was possible, the stones were highlighted, treated, and left exposed with the aim to remember the ancient construction techniques. The windowsills are terracotta made with pieces recovered from the ancient floor discovered under the clay tiles that was put on top during the years. There are mosquito nets in all windows, and wooden shutters on the upper floor. Furthermore, on the ground floor, the windows and doors are protected by gratings. The house is 10 km away from Piombino, it is located in the Vignarca area in the flat countryside in front of the sea on the east coast. Guests' privacy and quietness are assured, but the house is not isolated. About 300 m away, in fact, there are others buildings, some are rural, others touristic. The sea is only 2 km away and is reachable also by bike. There are free and equipped beaches (there is also a dog beach) with many bars and restaurants amongst other services. Not to be missed is the Baratti Sea, famous for its archaeological mining area of Populonia. The farmhouse is near amenities. In Riotorto village, there are supermarkets and shops for everything you need. A few hundred metres away, the WWF oasis of Orti-Bottagone is located, which is a shelter for different bird species, such as the pink flamingos. WWF organises guided bird watching visits (also at night). Nearby, there is a skydiving school that arranges the "baptism of flying" the first flight, for adrenaline lovers. The house is in the centre of an area where there are many small villages. For food and wine lovers, there are the Suvereto routes, Campiglia Marittima, Massa Marittima, Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri. For nightlife, you can visit Follonica and San Vincenzo. At the end of your stay, you can visit Elba Island, which is reachable in 50 minutes by ferry from Piombino Harbour or you can rent a boat in the touristic harbour of Marina di Salivoli.
