We had a wonderful stay here and our VRBO even exceeded our expectations! We wanted a spot in Normandy close to the beach and close to WWIII sights, and this was ideally situated. Our host was wonderful - there when we needed something, but left us to enjoy the place. The bakery is a 1 min walk away, the grocery store 4 mins, and the beach 5. One morning, a mobile butcher and a fishmonger set up shop right across the street. We cooked and ate many meals there and the kitchen was well equipped, and the table in the garden was so nice. Bedrooms were comfy with gorgeous windows to let the breeze in. We would return without hesitation.

An Ideal Place to Stay on the Beaches

Before our visit, our host answered all of our questions. During our stay, they were exceedingly helpful and in touch. They take great care & pride in their villa, and rightly so. The furnishings were comfortable & decor exquisite. The village is close to several great restaurants and to D-Day historic sites, with a charming church and sometimes fresh produce vendor right across the street.

Cute house….. but

The house and yard were adorable. Cute town, close to beach and good restaurants. 1 hour from Normandy beaches. The host was nice and easy to talk with. However; they tried to charge us for making the beds and cleaning…. Asking us to leave extra money. We did not leave any. It felt a little dishonest….

I'm so glad we chose this property! Our family wanted 5 nights in Normandy, and we really had no idea where we should stay to see all the cities we wanted to hit (Rouen-1hr45, Caen-20min, Bayeux-40min, Mont-Saint-Michel-1hr45, Pointe du Hoc-1hr20). It was perfection! Lion-sur-Mer is an exceptionally quiet town where we could sleep with the windows open and not hear drunk revelers all night. The townhouse is close to a pretty good bakery, a grocery store (Contact) with nice wine selection and local pate sausage with mushrooms at the butcher counter they were more than happy to let us sample. There is a beautiful church across the street with bells that toll. The couch was cozy, wifi good (not as strong on the 3rd floor), the kitchen had plenty of cooking pots and food basics (salt, oil, tea, sugar, coffee pods-Senseo, spices). The bathtub was clean! My children really enjoyed this, and the hot water was ample and abundant! One bit of feedback would be directions for how things work and where they are. We found the washing machine behind a door in the fence/wall in the backyard. We never quite figured out the cycles because everything was soaking wet when done, but we didnt ask for help. The drying rack and towel warmer were great, though. Also, operating the oven was a guess, but it cooked well for our dinners. Overall, the beds were cozy and the temperature perfect for our September stay. We were never hot. We have such incredible memories we'll never forget!

Ein schön modernisiertes altes Haus mit kleinem Garten. Nette Vermieter, die direkt nebenan wohnen. Toller Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge, viele Restaurants, ein guter Bäcker und der Strand in der Nähe. Guter Ausgangspunkt für viele Unternehmungen. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen!

Everything was lovely and just as described in the ad. The house was located perfectly with parking near the church, the beach 5 min. away as well as a lovely bakery and perfect grocery shopping nearby. We highly recommend it and would love coming back.

Extremely easy to communicate with host. Beautiful home and surroundings. We only stayed a couple of days, wish it could have been longer. Very clean home. Kitchen was well stocked, modern, and practical. We travelled with our three young adults and it was perfect. We appreciated the access to a clothes washer (as a suggestion it would have been nice to have a clothes line or rack for drying the clothes). Can’t recommend this location enough!

Il s'agit d'une petite maison ancienne mais magnifiquement restaurée, dotée de tout le confort nécessaire.Le Wi-Fi fonctionnait parfaitement. Les propriétaires habitent juste à côté et se sont montrés exceptionnellement aimables et serviables.Lion-sur-Mer est une charmante petite station balnéaire où de nombreuses grandes et belles villas du siècle dernier bordent encore le littoral. À recommander vivement.

A 200 mètres de la plage

Appartement très bien situé, avec petit jardin ombragé dans un endroit calme. Il y a tout ce qu'il faut pour passer de bonnes vacances. Des restos de qualité et à des prix raisonnables, une boulangerie, un bar PMU, une superette etc... et une très belle plage en pente douce avec du sable fin à 200m à pieds. Tout était parfait

Séjour familial, très réussi en pied des plages du débarquement.Un immense merci à Céline et Nicolas pour l’accueil et la qualité du logement .Très agréable d’arriver dans une maison propre avec les lits faits.Nous reviendrons sans aucune hésitation !
