Amazing place

We loved everything about the Maison Rouge. and we thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day stay. The two bedroom apartments' on second floor comes with amazing views. The history behind it is just as wonderful. Fully equipped kitchen and all that you need is ready for you enjoyment. I highly recommend you choose Maison Rouge in Chinon to all my friends and family.

Unique experience

The Red House is an historic one, and has been carefully restored and beautifully decorated. Situated in the centre of Chinon’s Old Town the house is spacious, comfortable and well- appointed. Our host was very welcoming and most helpful. Highly recommended.

This apartment is large but very welcoming. We arrived on a wet and windy March day and the minute we entered the apartment felt like we were home and snug. Nathalie has been more than helpful from the moment we booked this apartment to our arrival. Can not recommend this apartment and Nathalie more highly. We will hopefully return.

Chinon: Small French Village: 2 weeks

We deliberately chose a small French village. Chinon about 8200 popn. Less tourists more French culture, but the region is rich in tourist highlights. Our Maison Rouge accom is a medieval building with loads of character, right in the middle of the village. Nathalie was always responsive in comms and to questions. She met us on arrival- very nice and informative. Free car parking (a short walk) really appreciated esp for 2 week stay. The kitchen is a bit tight but met all our needs. Huge lounge and main bedroom. 2nd bedroom a good size to accom our guests during our stay. Highly recommend.

Liebevoll eingerichtete großzügige Wohnung in einem historischen Gebäude mitten in der Altstadt. Super Ausstattung mit vielen kleinen Aufmerksamkeiten haben uns den Aufenthalt in diesem Quartier sehr bequem gemacht. Chinon ist die Stadt der kurzen Wege, alles ist in 5 Minuten zu erlaufen, Bäcker, Burg und Flusspromenade. Sehr guter Ausgangspunkt für Touren in die Region (Tours, Saumur...).

Wonderful stay

We have just returned home after a week staying at La Maison Rouge in Chinon. From the atart, communication with the owner was easy and timely. The location is excellent in the middle of old Chinon with food stores very close by. The apartment was huge and very comfortable with modern fittings. The spiral access stairs were wide enough to negotiate easily and there were good handrails provided. We were able to store our bicycles in the entrance area without any problem. We would highly recommend La Maison Rouge.

It was a great stay. The house and the town were both lovely. Our kids loved the apartment. My wife and I wished we could spend the whole summer at the Red House. Well equipped kitchen, where we were able to entertain some friends who came over for supper.

Het mooiste en best verzorgde huisje dat wij ooit gehad hebben!

Alles is goed verzorgd in dit mooie middeleeuwse huis. Een zeer schoon, goed onderhouden en sfeervol huis. Alles is aanwezig, van goede keukenspullen, perfecte bedden en kussens tot handoeken, vuilniszakken en wasmiddel. Je wordt hartelijk ontvangen en je krijgt goede uitleg en allerlei tips en informatie. Het huis is goed gelegen in het centrum van een mooi historisch stadje. En je hebt geen geluidsoverlast ook al ligt de woning midden in het centrum. Alles ligt op 5 minuten afstand lopen: supermarkt, bakker, slager, fromagerie, winkels, VVV enz. Je kunt je auto goed kwijt op een gratis parkeerplek. Ook al heeft het huis geen tuin, balkon, wij ervoeren dat als geen nadeel omdat er altijd plaats is op de vele terrasjes, in de restaurants, en wij veel op pad waren: fietsen, kayakken, de vele kastelen aan het bezoeken enz.

Great place for couples or small family. In central Chinon close to all sites, restaurants, shopping, etc. This historical apartment is huge and well appointed. We had a fabulous experience in this accommodation and in Chinon.

Historic town, historic maison!

It has been a privelege to stay in one of the oldest buildings in Chinon. Maison Rouge is truly medieval, but the owners have done a fantastic job in turning the apartment into a very liveable space with all modern conveniences. Staying here has been an amazing experience.

It does not get any better

We were to spend three weeks in France, starting in Chinon. The stay in the Maison Rouge was a fantastic start. So wonderful that the rest of the time in France will pale into insignificance. All stays from here on out will be compared to the Maison Rouge and will be found significantly wanting. The location is perfect, the gite is fantastic, the hostess, Natalie, was perfectly wonderful and extremely helpful. The gite is stocked with information to keep you busy seeing all the sights. I write this in Paris and am experiencing Maison Rouge withdrawal. Bob and Debbie

Lovely apartment in great location

The property was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. The old beams were delightful, and the view of the medieval street outside was a joy. it was very close to restaurants and all the lovely attractions of Chinon.

A very special place - Chinon & Maison Rouge

Our stay was for 5 nights. Chinon is a great place to use as a base to explore the Loire Valley. The town is very old and charming. There are good amenities. We visited the Fortress, wandered about the medieval city, did some wine tasting and enjoyed some great dining experiences. Our HomeAway experience with this property was very good. Natalie was very responsive and payments and arrangement were easily facilitated. The place was clean, beautifully decorated, well situated and had all the modern conveniences. The old world charm of this home is a real experience not to be missed. Our only critic is that in high season the town can get crowded with tourists and it could get a bit noisy.

L’accueil est chaleureux, avec en plus une excellente bouteille de Bourgeuil, ce qui augure bien d'un séjour idéal. Excellents restaurants a proximité.
