Perfect relaxing break

We loved the dovecote the attention to detail was spot on, we had everything we needed and more. Yannick and Cecile were lovely hosts. Lots to do in the area in such beautiful surroundings. We will return to such a perfect place.

Dovecote with a Wood Stove

We were very pleased. It was perfect for a couple. We arrived on a cold afternoon and the wood stove quickly warmed us up. The bathroom and kitchen had everything we needed and the bed was comfortable. A great deal of thought and work went into converting this structure, resulting in a gem. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We hated to have to leave.

Beautiful and quiet

Amazing. Simply amazing and unique. You could not ask for a better holiday escape than this 3 story rework of a traditional dove cote in the Loire valley. Kitchen is stocked with everything you need as well great appliances. Abundant hot water and a well stocked wood supply for firing up the wood burning fireplace for winter warmth and relaxation. 5***** stars

Fantastic experience

What a fabulous restoration of 'the Pigeonnier', amazing, impeccable, and with a modern twist, delightful and magic. Everything is there, impeccable and clean, kitchen equipment perfect and plenty of it, bedding, towels, etc A private garden as well, and of course private and secure parking. extremely quiet too. We would definitely recommend it. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful, with great recommendations for outings, please go and enjoy. Camille and Brian

Wonderfully restored apartment in vineyards

Cecile and Yannick do not overpromise when they state on their website that they look forward to welcoming their guests to a wonderfully calm and peaceful environment. Indeed, we received a very warm welcome with home-made honey, grapes and tomatoes from the garden. The Pigeoneer cottage is a real experience: while you still feel like in on old pigeon loft, it is all brand new; the kitchen is well equipped, the bed is very comfortable, and the cottage is overall very tastefully furnished with lots of attention paid to details. It is also spotlessly tidy, even the pigeon holes, which are by definition destined to attract dust, are clean. The stairs to the bedroom gallery perfectly blend into the apartment but require you to be reasonably surefooted. The terrace overlooking the vineyards invites for breakfast, lunch or dinner (restaurants and supermarkets are withing 10-15 minutes driving distance). Moreover, deck-chairs allow you to experience the ‘sounds of silence’ of the place. During a wonderful and relaxing week, we visited many sights and towns nearby (Breze, Chinon, Saumur, Angers), but also truly enjoyed the quality of the cottage and its peaceful surroundings. A big thank you to Cecile and Yannick to make this possible.

Wunderschöner Aufenthalt in einem aussergewöhnlichen Objekt .Super ruhig gelegen . Cecile und Jannik sind ganz wunderbare Menschen , die sich liebevoll um uns gekĂŒmmert haben . Belle prestation de haute qualité

Nous avons passé un beau séjour dans le gßte du Pigeonnier chez Cécile et Yannick. L'accueil est trÚs amical, simple et chaleureux. Nos hÎtes nous ont apporté des informations sur la région, le pays et de bonnes adresses que nous avons appréciées. La région est pleine de ressources pour des visites, des balades et la gastronomie. Des balades directement à partir du gßte sont possibles. Le gßte est de haute qualité, moderne dans un bùtiment original et remarquable pour l'espace privatif et le calme. Un lieu à retenir, pour y revenir.

Wir haben das vorgefunden,was wir erhofft haben und waren rundherum zufrieden. Der Kontakt mit der Vermieterseite war stets möglich, auch wenn wir unwahrscheinlich wenig nachfragen mussten. Wir haben noch nicht alle SehenswĂŒrdigkeiten besuchen und nicht alle Weine probieren können. Also werden wir versuchen, dies weiterzufĂŒhren.

Kleines Paradies

Was fĂŒr eine Ruhe im und am Taubenhaus. Wunderschön ausgebautes ehemaliges Taubenhaus mit großem weitlĂ€ufigem Garten. Die Besitzer sind sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Wer die Ruhe braucht, nur zu empfehlen.

Un vrai petit paradis

Heerlijk

Wie op zoek is naar een accommodatie op een heerlijk rustige omgeving is hier aan het juiste adres. Een heerlijk rustige ligging, een prachtige güte, op fietsafstand of met de wagen kort bij een hele lijst bezienswaardigheden aan de Loire en een vriendelijke gastvrouw/heer. Alle beschrijvingen kloppen helemaal met wat je krijgt. Kortom 
 een zeer gesmaakte week Loire gehad.

The Perfect French Break

We have stayed in cottages all over Europe and this was one of the best. Although the dovecote is in the grounds of the hosts property, it feels very secluded, private and very quiet. Our hosts were delightful! A really charming and genuine couple who go out of their way to make your stay is memorable. They even bought charcoal for us for the BBQ. They speak English brilliantly which was a relief as we dont speak French. The dovecote has recently been converted to accomodation and looks stunning. Its a bonus having a washing machine as most places dont. You have your own private garden which borders a vineyard. Its perfectly French! You walk round the garden at night and just hear the birds. You are surrounded by countryside & vineyards but only 15 minutes away from Saumer which is quite big and has all your supermarkets & places to eat. There are lots of tourist places to visit on your doorstep and we appreciated the recomendations by our hosts that we couldnt find on the internet. Our stay was brilliant and it was a pleasure to have met our hosts. We even have plans to drive down again next year just to stay there again. Thank you for a wonderful break.

De ideale plaats om "weg" te zijn

Bij aankomst werden we hartelijk onthaald door Cecile en Yannick. Aangezien we vrij moe waren, lieten ze ons rustig hun duiventoren ontdekken. Wij waren meteen verkocht - de manier waarop ze van deze ruïne een mooi ingericht juweeltje gemaakt hebben, is indrukwekkend. Ook de netheid viel ons meteen op. Alles was tot in de puntjes proper gemaakt (wat niet simpel is met al die nissen). Eens uitgepakt wilden we nog even genieten van het terras. Ook hier waren we onder de indruk: Onze oren deden pijn van de stilte, onze ogen werden verblind door de sterrenhemel... en wij die dachten dat we op het Vlaamse platteland al rustig wonen – niet dus. Na een deugddoende nacht konden we de streek gaan verkennen: wijngaarden, ontelbare kastelen, prachtige fietsroutes, 
 voor elk wat wils. Le pigeonnier is voor ons een adres dat hoog op onze vakantielijst komt te staan. O ja, ik mag zeker niet vergeten te vermelden dat Cecile en Yannick steeds beschikbaar zijn om advies te geven over uitstappen, restaurants, bezoeken aan wijnkelders, 
 noem maar op. Maar ze zijn er ook om gewoon een babbeltje te slaan over koetjes en kalfjes, evenwel altijd zonder zich ook maar een moment op te dringen. Bedankt Cecile en Yannick (en familie) – wij zijn fans geworden !!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Cécile et Yannick qui nous ont trÚs bien accueilli et nous ont donné de trÚs bons conseils sur les visites à proximité, restaurant et caves. Petit coin de paradis calme et reposant

Le gĂźte du pigeonnier est merveilleusement amĂ©nagĂ© par Yannick et CĂ©cile, qui y ont apportĂ© le plus grand soin et beaucoup de goĂ»t. Il y a tout ce dont on a besoin, et si ce n'est pas le cas, les hĂŽtes sont trĂšs Ă  l'Ă©coute et disponibles. Le feu Ă©tait fait dans le poĂȘle Ă  bois Ă  notre arrivĂ© et nous avions mĂȘme un petit pot de miel fait maison. GĂźte trĂšs agrĂ©able, cosy, pratique et confortable oĂč nous reviendrions sans hĂ©sitation. Merci Yannick et CĂ©cile !
