The historic and vibrant city of Galway is only 11 miles away and the Connemara National Park and a trip to the Aran Islands are just some of the day trips, which are a must from here. The bustling city of Galway, only 10 miles away, with its variety of shopping facilities, hosts summer festivals. The Burren and North Clare, the magical Aran Islands and the popular towns of Clifden and Westport are some of the many day trips. Fishing enthusiasts can enjoy deep sea fishing or can travel to Moycullen/Oughterard and Lough Corrib. Bike hire, golf courses, pony trekking and water sports are all available locally.
