The Stone House in Fanore
Our stay at the Lightfoot family's Stone House was exceptional. The house is beautifully designed, with warm comfortable places to sit, read, or just look at the sea, the birds, and cows grazing. We enjoyed the art throughout the house, and the attention to details such as lights on both sides of the bed for reading was much appreciated. We have to say as well that no visual evidence of a television was a true blessing. Anna, their property manager, was truly lovely and responded quickly to our requests and needs. Everyone we met was welcoming and helpful. The Stone House and the village of Fanore is a place we will never forget.
A True Irish Gem
What a magical place! We could not have imagined anything like the the Stone House in terms of the beauty and the serenity that we felt being there. The photos do not do it justice and it went beyond our expectations. The stunning views, the art, the early Irish furniture, the architecture, and last but not least, the amazing stone work filled our hearts and soul. We felt at home as soon as we arrived and we hope to return.
Thank you Deirdre, Joan, Sarah and Anna for making our stay in Fanore unforgettable.

Everything I had hoped for
The property exceeded my expectations. The interior and exterior were magical. Beautiful views of the ocean and islands. The Stone House has everything you need for a very comfortable and relaxing get away from it all vacation
The Stonehouse, The Burren, The Best
We spent the first five days, of our two week visit to Ireland, in the Stonehouse in Fanore. We traveled with friends and we all agreed it was the best way to start our trip and the best place we stayed. . It's a gem and was a great place to come home to every evening after long days of traveling the Wild Atlantic Way visiting Connemara, Kylemore Abbey, Galway, Lahinch, Dunbeg, Cliffs of Moher, Kilkee and the Cliffs of Killkee ( a must visit and it's like the Cliff's of Moher on steroids), LImerick and more. The location was perfect for seeing so much of the west coast. The views are amazing and the big dipper can be seen laying on the couch in the living room looking out the big front windows. Deirdre and Joan are great to work with. We will be telling our friends to stay here when they visit Ireland. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality.
Clare County comfort
The Stone House was our taste of Ireland; a peaceful retreat along the Wild Atlantic Way close enough for a hop into Doolin or Galway, but perfect for a quiet day of reflection on the coast. The house is spacious and well appointed with art and photos to really make it feel like a home. There were a couple of spiders, but that is simply a reminder that you are in a natural, rural setting. Anna is a very welcoming host and her suggestions, along with some very helpful notes provided in advance were enough to keep us as busy as we wanted to be for our brief stay in this magical land. Highly reccommend!
A gem in Fanore
The Stone House was a perfect getaway spot for our family to not only relax overlooking the Atlantic in the evenings, but spend our days exploring the wonders of the Wild Atlantic Way. The photos do not do the house justice. Deirdre and Joan were extremely helpful in providing guidance about the area before our trip, so that we could make the most of our stay. Anna, who checked us in and was there to answer any question that we may have had, made our stay perfect.
