About this property
Salobreña Old Town Duplex: Stylish, Comfortable & Peaceful.
Built in the 1960s in a sought-after lower area of Salobreña's old town, surrounded by Spanish neighbours, the house is unusually spacious for its location — bright, well-proportioned, and approximately 75 sqm. It's just a 15-minute walk (600 metres) to the seafront and 5 minutes to the town centre, where you'll find a local market, large supermarkets, banks, and shops.
The property sits on a particularly quiet cul-de-sac with no traffic noise, and there's car access right to the front door at street level.
Everything is included so you can simply relax: kitchen utensils, WiFi, bed linen, towels, essentials, and of course impeccable cleaning.
The house is arranged over two floors connected by two sets of stairs, conveniently separating the living and sleeping areas. On the entry floor, the staircase leads to a large open-plan kitchen, living room, and terrace. The terrace faces south-east and catches the sun from morning until well into the afternoon, while also providing shelter from the local winds — which keeps the indoor temperature mild and pleasant all year round. White laminate floors, original stone walls, a large corner sofa, vintage table and lamps, air conditioning and heating, mood lighting, books, fibre WiFi, a 65-inch smart TV… even an original school blackboard.
Downstairs, two comfortable air-conditioned bedrooms overlook a quiet pedestrian street, alongside a metro-tiled bathroom with an extra-large shower and a separate toilet. If you're travelling with young children, safety gates can easily be fitted to the stairs. With a queen-size bed (150 cm) and two single beds (90 cm), the house sleeps up to 4 guests. A baby cot is also available.
A car isn't essential, but it's recommended for exploring nearby towns and beaches. Parking is generally available at the end of the street and on the parallel road, Ladera de La Cruz. During peak season (summer, Easter, and Christmas) it can take a little longer, so I'd suggest heading to the lower part of town, near the Auditorium and Police Station, just down the nearby steps. The number 2 bus runs from the modern part of Salobreña through the old town, past Al Salam, and all the way up to the castle.
As a Spaniard who spends most of my time in London, Salobreña has everything I look for when I return home: authenticity, great weather, fresh food, tapas, and beautiful surroundings. Back in 2005 I started looking for a townhouse with potential, and eventually found this one. Since then, I've been enjoying turning it into a comfortable, safe, spacious, and stylish holiday home. The last major renovation was in April 2019, when I installed wooden flooring in the living room — but I'm always making small improvements.
You've guessed it: this isn't a beach apartment or a villa with a pool, but rather a charming townhouse where you can feel part of local life. A privileged base from which to explore the Costa Tropical, a quiet place to work from, and a safe retreat after a day out.
We're waiting for you. ¿Vienes? (Are you coming?)

A Great Stay
We really enjoyed our stay in Salobrena at Jorge's house. The property is lovely and ideally located for both the beach and the old town where you can enjoy some authentic Spanish cuisine. We also loved the really comfy beds and thought the house was extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. A huge thank you to Jorge and a huge recommendation to all.

comfortable and stylish
Enjoyed our stay with our 4 yr old who loved the upside down house (going upstairs to the living room never got boring for her!). The house is well designed, good use of space and all of the amenities you need with great views. Highly recommend the house and the town which is so friendly with loads of great bars and restaurants. And being so close to the beach was great. Lots of helpful information from Jorge when we booked and the lovely Rita looked after us really well. Would stay there again.

Great location and a 'real' home
Perfect location to feel like you are actually in a real functioning town not just a holiday resort but just 10 minute walk to the beach, Additionally Jorge's house is very homely with lots of stylish and practical touches that make you feel at home. The kitchen has everything you need but there are lots of restaurants within a short walk that you might not use it too much. Although the biggest surprise for us was just how quiet the location is even though it is so central to everything..

The feeling of being part of the town rather than just a tourist, discovering the pace of life at a small Andalusian town, is what can make a stay special. Am very glad you felt that comfortable and hope you return to Salobreña many times.

The best place to stay!
I've been in Salobreña several times now and I must say that this home away from home, where I spent some days last month, is fantastic. Bright, very comfortable, spacious, equipped with everything you need and in a great location. It is in the old part of town, so the most charming places are just a step away, as well as a nice grocery store at just 10 meters away.
Both Jorge, the owner, and Rita, the house keeper, are charming and helpful with anything you could need.
A great choice, will be back. Thanks Jorge!

Hi Marco, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay and learn you had the chance to explore the area. Thank you for the small present you left for Rita. We hope that you and your lovely girlfriend return soon!
We stayed 40 nights in Jorge's apartment and used it as a base for exploring the Costa Tropical and Andalusia. It was perfect and we feel we made a great choice. Well-appointed premises with easy access to everything (cautionary note - it is a climb of 160 steps from the bottom to the street where the apartment is located so a reasonable measure of fitness is handy!). Jorge is a pleasant and attentive host with excellent communication. Any at site questions were quickly attended to by the manager/contact Lidia. Thanks Jorge for hosting our excellent stay!
The property was just as described by Jorge. We loved the location, and the challenge of the 165 step, but please note, it's easy to catch the little bus which runs every half hour. The bed was so comfortable, we both had wonderful nights sleep. We enjoyed the big tele, the fantastic shower and the ambience of the house. It was a pleasure returning there after our explorations. The heating was efficient, and we were always cosy and warm. We were there for a month, and I could have spent another month there. I think that says it all!
We stayed for about six weeks at Jorge place. I very much appreciated the weekly sheet and towel changes as well as the cleaning that came with this property. His manager Lidia was fantastic. This was a great location for taking a lot of overnight trips to less known towns with so much fantastic history. I agree with an earlier review it’s a little tricky, finding the place but once you you get it down, it’s pretty straightforward. Parking was available for roughly 95% of our trip. Sometimes we had to park down in town and walk up the hill but it was a minor inconvenience.

It was a wonderful stay
We stayed at this porperty for 4 nights and it had a very good layout with 2 bedrooms, the bath and a washingmachine (in a separate utility room) downstairs. Upstairs is a big living room connected to an open kitchen. The kitchen was well equipped including microwave and oven. From the balcony you could see the mediteranien sea which is only 10min walk away. The property was very clean and it felt really homely there.
The property is in the old part of Salobrena with narrow winding street´s but no problem to find with sat nav (Navi, GPS).
Charming bars are just a short walk away and daily shopping was no problem as there are 3 big superstores near by.
The owner of the property is very helpful. He gave us a lot of advise and tips.
It is helpful to know a little bit of Spanish because the local contact speaks only Spanish but was very helpful.
We think the property is always worth a visit.

Thank you! It was a pleasure to have you and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope you return one day, there are many more tips and favorite places we can tell you about! All the best, Jorge
Jorge's house is lovely! What you see in the photographs is exactly what you get. Very pretty and super functional. Fab kitchen though it would have been nice too have had a small store of essentials like salt, pepper, olive oil etc as if you even want to cook the simplest meal you have to buy everything from scratch. We left everything we bought, hopefully for the next people to make use of. The area is great! The beach is delightful, with great beach shops and restaurants.
A warning though, the approach from lower town to the house is steep and the stairs down to the beach road are many, I managed it even though I'm in my 70's but be warned, it's not for the infirm.
The view of the sea and the mountains from the balcony is an extra bonus. The beds are comfortable and the linen good, pillows rather solid though and the beds weren't made up when we got there but we soon discovered the duvets in the wardrobes. Do take the no 2 bus from the end of the road up to the castle, it's well worth it for the views alone and very interesting history. On your way back down check into Eno's lovely little studio, you can't miss it and tell him we said hi. Suze and Fen
Het voelde als een huis waar je echt in thuiskwam. Van alle gemakken voorzien en netjes. Ook prima met kleine kinderen. Ik was sieraden vergeten en die zijn zelfs nog nagestuurd. Een aanrader :)

It's been my absolute pleasure to host you and your family. I am glad you enjoyed it in Salobreña, you are welcome back anytime!
A fabulously stylish but extremely comfortable apartment. In a great location.
We stayed here for the 1st week in January and have been so happy with the location and ease and comfort if the apartment. Fell in love with the styling and lovely touches in the furnishings and the fab lighting collection. The bed was really comfy and the shower and bathroom so easy and spacious. The location was perfect for beach walks and great access to motorways to explore inland. Was great to be here during the 3 Kings bank holiday and the place was buzzing with soanish families all out to lunch along the many gorgeous restaurants around the beach area. Coming in January Salobrena had a really Spanish feel without all the tourists and we hardly heard an english speaking voice, which we loved and gave us chance to work on our spanish. We had great weather, gorgeous warm sunshine perfect for walking around in. Chilly at night but the lounge and that amazing sofa was perfect for cosying up beneath a blanket and reading. The huge TV was a bonus and we enjoyed you tubeing music on it. We loved the beautiful quiet village of Niguelas just off the motorway near Durcal and the views frim Pinos de Valle were stunning. An amazing week, thank you Jorge.
Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans cette maison confortable. Rien ne manque, nous nous y sommes sentis "comme chez nous". Salobreña est une petite ville encore préservée.

Feeling at home when away from home is something that I value as a traveller and naturally want to provide as a host. I am glad you enjoyed your stay, thank you for your comments and for taking such good care of the property.
This apartment seems to be taken out of a magazine. Everything from the structure to the design and small details. Attentive host. The apartment is obviously up a steep road, as is the whole old town, but it is relatively close to the bottom part of town and to the beach. Do note that there are 2 flights of stairs (we were there with a baby and it didn't bother us).
And while you're here, do go to Restaurante La Roka - absolutely beautiful spot with unmatched food for very reasonable price.
Fabulous property, Jorge has thought of everything to make sure clients have an enjoyable stay in his lovely home. Comfortable beds, linens, towels, and a superb bathroom, the shower is amazing! Salobrena is a lovely old town and the beach is easy to get to, this is by far the best property we have stayed in.
We felt comfortable in Jorge's casa from the moment we arrived. It was clean, comfortable, spacious and tastefully decorated. The attention to detail is impressive. A lot of thought has gone into making guests' stay a success. The communication with the owner was very good. Situated in a quiet area of the old town it is ideal for both town and beach. The only possible negative is that there are two lots of stairs in the property and a lot stairs in the general area so it may not be suitable for people who have mobility problems. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning in the future.

Charming house, charming place.
We enjoyed our stay at Jorges Casa. The apartment has all you need, from the well equipped kitchen to the bedrooms with extra cushions. Bathroom is spacious. All was very clean and in place when we arrived. The Old town in Salobrena is very charming, and its a short walk from the apartment down to the town center and the beach. Our communication with Jorge was very good, and he also provided extra service for us due to allergies. We are very satisfied with our stay and the process of renting via Jorge and HomeAway.

Sehr schöner Urlaub in Salobrena

Amazing!
Love this home! We spent a few days in November and loved it so much that we returned for 2 weeks in January. The home is exactly as listed; beautiful, comfortable and in a perfect area of Salobrena. Jorge and Ivan took such great care of us, even providing bottled water, fruits, juice, bread, coffee etc. upon arrival. The home is immaculate and the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The living room has a huge gorgeous sectional perfect for reading or being lazy and relaxing after enjoying a day exploring the town. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are super comfortable, and one of the nicest bathrooms I have ever seen in Spain. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. It has all the comforts of a modern home but still has the charm of a Spanish villa.

Wonderful apartment with sea view in the old town of Salobreña
We stayed in Jorge's nice apartment for a week in late October and had a wonderful time.
Once we managed to find the way through the very narrow streets of Salobreña's old town (watch the video that Jorge provided in advance, then it won't be a problem), Ivan welcomed us warmly at the apartment and showed us everything.
The cosy apartment which is arranged over two floors was perfect for us. We enjoyed our breakfast every morning on the sunny balcony and loved to cook lunch or dinner in the fully equipped kitchen.
The beach was just a short stroll away and we were there pretty much every day. On the way back you have to climb many stairs to return to the apartment, but you get used to it after a couple of days.
The owner Jorge provided us with many useful tips for restaurants - we tried Pesetas for original Paella and La botica for a lovely fried fish plate and had traditional Sangria at La Bahia after our beach days.
During our stay we made a trip to Granada which is only a one hour drive away and visited the beautiful Alhambra.
We fully enjoyed our vacation in Jorge's apartment and liked Salobreña as our holiday home.

We loved the place. It was comfortable and well appointed. It had everything one could hope for. The walk down to the beach at first looked a little daunting but we didn’t have a problem with it. Solabrena is a small town but the surrounding area was a short drive away.

About the host
Hosted by Jorge Postigo
I am a Spanish national living between London and Spain. I take great care to keep my property in Salobrena in top condition, spending time decorating it in an unfussy, elegant style, using natural, high quality materials and furnishings. When I am back in Andalusia I like to soak up the atmosphere of the town, walking the streets, talking to people and appreciating the little things that make life enjoyable. When I am at home, I like to relax in comfortable spaces that are uncluttered and authentic. I want my guests to feel the same when they stay in Salobrena. I have a local housekeeper who takes care of keys, cleaning and solving any problems on the spot. I am also always available. When I am not working or thinking about how to improve my property, I am doing yoga, open water swimming, listening to flamenco and looking for furniture with character! I hope some of my personality comes through in my home.
Why they chose this property
In 2004 I found a townhouse built in the 60s with lots of charm and potential. I liked the open space and the way it was laid out, with the living/cooking and sleeping areas on two separate floors. Now I am enjoying renovating and decorating it to create a comfortable, spacious and stylish holiday home.
What makes this property unique
Comfortable & bright, it is only a 10 minute walk to the beach and a 50 minute drive to the motorway to Granada and Malaga. Clean, tidy & crisp, it is a place where you can really feel at home. The property always has an ideal indoor temperature, which can be controlled with the HVAC units. Salobrena itself is a small town with a picturesque old town where the property is located. Salobrena is lively all year round, not just during the summer months. The Costa Tropical is much less well known than the Costa del Sol, there are many coastal and mountain towns, coves and beaches to discover.
