The location is great - it is only a couple of blocks to the waterfront, and a very short walk into town. The house is nice, clean, and the listing was very accurate. We would definitely stay here again.
Great location and very nicely appointed little cottage. All the amenities are graceously provided. If you have never been to Beaufort, you will love this stately, lovely little southern town
This house is a great place to stay. It is very clean and welcoming , is in a great location to walk to the water, historic district , shops and the Pat Conroy Library is just across the street. We loved staying at the Little Purple House in the South.
We enjoyed the charm of this cottage. It was easy walking distance to the restaurants along the bay. The bay itself is only a block away and visible from the front porch. The host was very communicative and helpful. There is a nice bakery/coffee shop just across the street.

The Little Purple Cottage
This cottage was absolutely perfect for our stay in Beaufort! The cottage was spotless clean and with the exception of our personal items, everything we could need was there! We enjoyed relaxing on the front porch in the evening! It was peaceful and quiet. I hope to return to Beaufort in the near future and would definitely like to stay in this cottage again!
First time to the Beaufort area and wanted to be near the water and the downtown district. This location fit both perfectly. No surprises, the descriptions and photos depicted the property accurately. Communication with the owner was returned in a timely manner and she answered questions we had. Check in and check out were easy enough with door codes. Bonus: the owners provided a hangtag/parking pass for the South Carolina state parks in the area. We did use it going out to hunting island and it’s a nice touch. I haven’t seen in other rentals. there was a coffee shop right outside the front door across the block as well as the waterfront. Driving to the downtown area was just a few minutes and easy.
Overall it was good. Several light bulbs were missing. Earrings left behind on night stand with dust on it goes to how well it was cleaned. Pull chain for fan laying on night stand. Light kit messed up so the other chain was hard to pull. Front door with the security lock has to be held in the right place for the door to lock, so the door needs adjusting. Last is the TV situation which is ridiculous. We stayed in one of the other cottages with the same TV situation and I got it to work easily as directions stated. For this cottage however the directions doesn't line up as the button it calls for is not listed on either controls.
This place is exactly as advertised. It is super close to downtown and all the shops and cool places to visit. The house is clean and well stocked with what you need. The host, Nadine, is very prompt and communicative. She will take care of your needs very quickly.
Lovely, quiet cottage in walking distance to the water and downtown Beaufort. Comfortable bed and just the right size for 2 of us. Our only issue was that the shower was either scalding or freezing, it was impossible to regulate.
As good a location for accessing historic Beaufort as you can find, especially for the price. While some of the property around it is a little run down, overall it is safe and quiet. The house is tight for more than 2.
Beaufort, South Carolina is like a little Florida town. Right on the water, amazing people and amazing sites. If you are going to visit Paris Island, stay in Beaufort. Although when we stayed, the town was shut down because of ice and snow. The purple house that we stayed at, was amazing. Center of town, cozy little home. We will be staying here again.
Everything was great near stores and waterfront if I had to complain it would be hard to think of anything except maybe handicap handles in the shower. Will definitely book again
Immaculate. Short walk to downtown but the architecture along the way may make you wish it were longer (take Craven Street, the houses are particularly beautiful). Steps from Herban Market, an excellent coffee shop and cafe.

Why they chose this property
I highly recommend this property to anybody that likes to experience the downtown living but yet wants to enjoy peace and quiet. The cottage is only a 10 minute stroll along the water to downtown Beaufort. And for all our guests that come and visit Beaufort for military graduation, the cottage is only a 10-12 minute drive away from Paris Island!
