About this property
One night stays available at cozy, Listed boutique cottage with log burners
Little Turret is part of the old farm buildings of the Beauport Home Farm built in 1838 and in its time housed the farm workers. Situated above the now converted old forge and cowshed and amongst a few more modern homes, Little Turret is full of character. It has recently been renovated to provide all the modern appliances whilst keeping original features to reflect the age of the property. Tastefully decorated with a mixture of Farrow and Ball colours and William Morris wallpaper you won't be disappointed. Access is up the stone spiral staircase in the turret with its interesting ceiling, which leads to the lounge with a log burner, TV, Netflix, Disney+, DVD player, choice of DVDs and 2 sofas. The property has an ample dining room with vintage furnishings and a further woodburner ideal for cozy Autumn and Winter meals. Off the dining room is a small but quirky cloakroom. The fully equipped galley kitchen has a dishwasher, washer/dryer, oven, hob, microwave and fridge. The double bedroom is off the lounge with quality, luxury bedding. Please ask if you require an extra bed for a young person . We can provide a foldaway bed and bedding.
Upstairs you will find the bedroom with exposed brick work, a king size Rococo bed with quality bedding, stripped floorboards and far reaching views from the unusual round window over Hastings towards the sea. The spacious bathroom has a roll top bath with a hand shower attachment. Cotton towels and individual wrapped soaps provided for that touch of luxury.
Little Turret has its own driveway for at least 2 cars and a pretty decking area with table and seating for 4 to enable you to enjoy a morning coffee or afternoon tea.
Little Turret is ideally located in the heart of the famous 1066 Country a short drive from Hastings seafront, the historic town of Battle with its Abbey, the beautiful town of Rye. It's just a 10 minute drive into St. Leonards where you are spoilt for choice for antique shops, cafes and galleries. St. Leonards even has its own independent cinema with restaurant and art gallery. Hastings Old Town is a short drive away with many events held during the year. Hastings is known for its Pirate Day and is a must if you are in the area. It also hosts an annual Seafood and Wine Festival in September and Hastings Day Bonfire and Firework Display in October. In November nearby Battle hosts a Bonfire Night Procession and amazing firework display from Battle Abbey.
Hastings has a stunning contemporary designed pier after the original was destroyed by fire several years ago. Now open for the public to enjoy views of the town from out to sea.
Hastings Old Town also has a mixture of antique shops and cafes alongside amusements, crazy golf and everything you'd expect from a seaside holiday. The picturesque narrow streets and fishing huts set between the 2 cliffs are worth a visit.
A little further out you can find plenty of walks, cycle routes and areas of outstanding natural beauty. For those interested in history you can visit Battle Abbey famously founded by William the Conqueror, Bodiam Castle complete with moat and turrets and Herstmonceux Castle to name but a few historical attractions.
With so many attractions and events you will barely have time to enjoy the home comforts of the cottage.

Great hosts, well presented and interesting property, quiet area to relax, perfectly situated for everywhere we wanted to visit. Supermarket close by for groceries. Welcome pack was limited but a nice gesture. No coffee however was tea sugar and milk.

A comfortable, clean and very quirky little house oozing with character.
Little Turret is a unique property in an ideal location for exploring many attractions across Sussex and Kent. We visited in May but it would be lovely and cosy in the winter months too.

We really appreciate this positive review and would welcome these guests back anytime. Our property was left in an immaculate condition.
The house is so pretty and cosy to stay in. Of course it is small and of course, when one is 6'7" like me you'd bang your head against the beams but we had a great stay! Bed is comfortable!

Hi Eric and Cora
Thank you for your lovely review. Hope your head has recovered from the beams. Thank you for leaving our house so immaculately clean and tidy. It was a pleasure to host you.
Jane
We absolutely loved our stay - the Little Turret was everything we hoped for. It is full of surprises with all the charm of a bygone era and plenty of personal touches to make it special. Would have no hesitation in staying again. Thanks Jane,
Well-equipped & very comfortable (except for the sofas, which were not). Beautifully decorated, but downstairs was dark, even on bright days. Palatial bathroom, but struggled bathing without a stand-in shower. Sea view not visible except from garden. Location brilliant, 5 mins from seafront, & very peaceful. Overall, a lovely place, & owner Jane was lovely too.

Thank you for our 5 star review we really appreciate it. Due to the age and nature of the building windows are historically smaller than modern buildings. The description doesn’t include stand in shower and we apologise if this was awkward for you. Roll top baths are pretty but harder to access. We hope to see you again. Jane
Jane and Jon were amazing hosts! I ended up booking Little Turret after my prior VRBO cancelled just before my trip, Jane and Jon allowed me to stay over the Holiday when they normally would have closed. I cannot express how grateful I am to them and their family for providing me a place to stay.
I arrived later than anticipated but was treated with some welcome gifts that were perfect!
From the unique entry-way (almost castle like) to the first glimpse inside Little Turret, the property gives you all the English charm and quirk your heart desires. Little Turret was a sanctuary for me over a 23 day trip and I found myself not wanting to leave the multiple fireplaces or bathtub! The beds are comfortable, amenities are well done, and in general it is just the perfect spot to rest, rejuvenate, and reflect. I spent a lot of time cooking, building fires, and reading. When I finally left the property, it was close car ride to Historic Battle, Hastings, the coast, Rye, Eastbourne and a little further to Brighton. Close access to train stations and other amenities you might need during your stay.
Jane was fantastic at communicating and was readily available whenever I had questions or needed something. If your looking for an amazing place to stay, experience historic England with some real English charm I cannot express more that Little Turret is the place to go! I will return in the future.
Thank you again Jane & Jon for making my English Holiday perfect!

Hi Amber
Thank you for such a lovely kind review. We are so happy you found Little Turret suiting all your needs. Thank you also for leaving the property beautifully clean and tidy. It means alot to us when a guest really appreciates L
Sehr liebevoll eingerichtetes Haus.
Nochmal Danke. Die Betten, die Kissen, die Handtücher, alles hochwertig. Danke für eine wunderbare Woche.
Excellent property and felt very welcome. Perfect place to chill as in very quiet surroundings. Would definitely stay her again

Mark and his family were perfect guests. Communication was friendly and they treated our property and surroundings wth respect. Our Little Turret was left meticulously clean and tidy and we really appreciate this. We really hope they visit us again, more than welcome and we recommend Mark and his family to anyone.
The location was a little further out of Hastings than I thought but was easy with a car to get around. The place itself is wonderful and so are the hosts. The houses personal touches are great. We were so tired after a 11 hour flight and two hour drive that having wine , eggs bread and milk was wonderful so we didn't have to run right out again. Would stay here again definitely!!! There are quite a few steps if this is hard for you. It wasn't for us. Thank you for sharing your place with us.

Ive only just noticed after all these years the thumbs down symbol which is obviously an error as these guests were delightful and we would certainly host again. I have tried to delete this without success. Many apologies for the error and thank you guests for the lovely review.
Spent a lovely weekend with my family at this beautiful property. So full of character and beautifully decorated if you like old then this is the place for you. It is well equipped and spotlessly clean with the added bonus of a welcome basket from the owner. (Milk bread butter etc). Good location for Hastings only a five minute drive away. The only disappointment for us was that it is surrounded by modern houses.
Sehr liebevoll eingerichtetes Ferienhaus.

Thank you for your lovely review. We are happy you enjoyed your holiday and it was nice to meet you from time to time. Thank you for leaving our house so tidy and clean and we welcome you anytime you’re staying in the UK.
My sister and I had a wonderful stay in Little Turret. The house is exactly as described. Everything is there and is furnished with many lovely details. The beds are wonderfully comfortable and we slept in it like babies and have a great rest.
We were there by car and could do everything from there.
Jane is a wonderful hostess and we would like to come back.
Thank you very much Jane.

Life as in times gone by
Attractively decorated. Needed airing for 24 hours as a heavy and unpleasant smell left us with sinus, catarrh and headaches. The hospitality basket was inviting and attractive. The winding turret stairs left this 77 year old with the knowledge that bungalows and flats, though lacking the atmosphere of quirky is more sensible. Thank you for a nice venue to relax in.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to read that you experienced an unpleasant smell and felt that the property needed airing. We are also concerned that the smell maybe caused you discomfort. Of course had we known of the problem when you arrived we could’ve come up and investigated immediately. As you were aware we live on site and when i let you in to retrieve your locked in keys 9 asked if all was ok with you and you said it was all fine. So this rather surprised me to read about unpleasant smells bad enough to cause headaches. We have been letting Little Turret for over 3 years and have always had 4 and 5 star reviews and never a mention of smell which I would
Like to emphasise to future guests.
We hope this won’t put you off visiting Little Turret again, however we understand that the spiral staircase proved tricky. We mention this in our description as one of the unique features.
We thank you for the 4 star rating and hope that your friends from your town book for later in the year.

Superb! Beautiful house and lovely host. Home from home.
Superb! We loved our short break near Hastings at Little Turret. Jane was very welcoming and provided a welcome pack of goodies and greeted us when we arrived. A historic gem of a property located in a more modern but quiet residential street as you walk up the spiral steps of Little Turret you step back in time into a beautifully furnished and very tastefully styled renovated house with all the facilities you could ask for including an excellent kitchen, a beautiful dining room in the style of William Morris & a cosy living room with TV/DVD and a cosy log burner in the winter months.2 nice bedrooms, one downstairs but with a separate loo and one upstairs next to the bathroom which features a slipper bath! Fabulous place = home from home!

Fantastic accommodation
A really unique property, beautifully designed and decorated. From the generous welcome hamper to the cosy bed everything is thoughtfully and lovingly provided. The rooms are generously proportioned and skillfully decorated with William Morris designs and tasteful paint colour choices. We cannot thank the owners enough for their attention to detail and comfort. Highly and hugely recommended if you are looking for a place to stay in 1066 country.

We had a lovely relaxing weekend at this great quirky little cottage. Jane was great at communicating with us and the property is really well equipped for our group of 4 adults. Its in a good location - just a few minutes drive to Hastings. We enjoyed the little terrace outside and the welcome hamper was much appreciated. I would thoroughly recommend this property.

About the host
Hosted by Jane Pecorini
Jon and I inherited the property from my late father. It its situated above our home and we spent 2 years lovingly renovating it while being careful to retain its character. Jon is a graphic designer but turned his hand to all the trades during the project. I work part time in a local boutique but am on hand for our guests. We both wanted to create an environment where our guests will feel comfortable whilst also appreciating the design and styling of the house. We have a busy life with a large family and enjoy Little Turret ourselves when its not booked as it has features we are unable to have in our home downstairs.
Why they chose this property
The property has been above our home for 20 years and as it was previously owned by my father it seemed obvious to renovate it and bring it to life. He was a hospitable and generous man who loved nice things around him. We feel our Little Turret has enabled us to respect him, reflect his personality and we have been able to incorporate some of his belongings in the house.
What makes this property unique
The entrance is interesting and houses a stone spiral staircase and decorations in the dome will intrigue you. We also invite you to prepare for a wedding day and welcome additional members of your bridal party(hairdresser, photographer etc) to get ready within an enchanting building with its own stone spiral staircase. We have facilities for storing your wedding drinks, table dressings etc for the big day. We could also provide additional full length mirrors if requested.
