Coastguard Cottage With Sea Views

This victorian coast guard cottage sits high on top of the cliff in acres of country parkland. With spectacular views from every window ! A paradise for walkers, ( and dogs ! ) it also has the benefit of being 10 mins drive from Hastings Old Town with its famous fishing community, eclectic mix of shops, restaurants, beach and rail link to London and Brighton.
15 mins in the other direction takes you to the beautiful clique port town of Rye and the white sand beach at Camber beyond.
The new visitor centre in the country park , is a stroll away, good for breakfast or light lunch .
“The Cove “ is a 20 min walk across the cliff top into Fairlight village. A very good foodie pub, using local produce and serving local beer, it has something for everyone with lovely atmosphere.

Lovely cottage with great views

We found the cottage to be very comfortable and well equipped. Great walks direct from the front door especially to The Cove for a very enjoyable early dinner. We all agreed it is one of the nicest places we have stayed in. We would love to return in the summer to really explore the area and see the views on sunny days.

Very comfy and homely

The cottage is very comfortable, with everything included for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. We really didn’t want to leave. The kitchen is very well-equipped as is the rest of the cottage. It’s in a lovely location with fine walks and stupendous sunrises.

Relaxing stay in cosy cottage

We spent 3 nights in this lovely cottage within the country Park, the cottage is incredibly well equipped in the kitchen , the views are amazing, all the way along the coast, Pett levels, Rye, Camber sands, Dungeness and in one particularly clear night France! Karen responded to queries immediately and was an excellent host. I certainly recommend this cottage.

Wonderful cottage to have for Christmas

We all had a truly magical time at the cottage. It had a really well stocked kitchen and the provisions left for us were much appreciated. Very comfy beds. Panoramic views from the roll top bath. Our dogs had a great time on walks. And luckily the weather was perfect. Thank you Karen for letting 4 generations of our family spend Christmas together.

Perfect Break

The property is a beautiful old house with high ceilings and stunning views of the area around it. Set off on a very quiet road. The house is well maintained and had all the amenities that we needed. Also a lovely touch of a bottle of bubbles as we were staying over New Years Eve. The only thing we didn't realise when booking that the third bathroom is a bath tub in the top floor room as appose to an actual bathroom/ ensuite, but that was maybe down to us not checking the listing properly. It was perfect for our little break and would higly recommend

Beautiful house and location.

This was a lovely long weekend away for my birthday. The photos do not do this property justice. The location is beautiful and the views down the coast from either side of the house are stunning. There was plenty of space for myself, my husband, my son my mother and my sister along with two spaniels. Karen kindly provided a Stairgate as we never let our dogs upstairs and there was plenty of room in the dining area section for the dogs to sleep their crate. The whole area is wonderful dog walking country with lots of footpaths and stunning views. There are also lots of rabbits so should you have a rabbit happy dog You may need a little more work keep them under control! Our dogs Were very keen to get out of the garden to chase said rabbits and one of them did manage it but I have told Karen about the hole in the fence and I have absolute confidence that she will secure this as Karen has been incredibly communicative and very helpful. There are lots of stairs in this property and the beautiful main bedroom at the top does have sloping ceilings near the bed so you just have to remember that! Thank you, Karen for a lovely stay And it would be lovely to come back one day.

My husband and I had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage. The location is amazing and the cottage lovely to stay in. It was no punishment to stay at home when the weather was to bad to go out. the vieuws were stunning.Go for a nice dinner at the Cove in Fairlight. Good food and nice staff.We had a great stay.

Es war perfekt, das Cottage war ein Traum, liebevoll eingerichtet in einer tollen Lage. Jedes Zimmer hatte Meerblick, die direkte Umgebung war ideal zum Spazierengehen oder wandern. Sehr nette Nachbarn, ein toller Garten. Wir werden es weiterempfehlen.

Wir hatten eine fantastische Zeit in diesem wunderschönen Ferienhaus und können es zu 100% weiterempfehlen. Die Lage ist einfach unschlagbar: Ruhig gelegen und nah genug, um die Küste zu erkunden. Der perfekte Ort, um wirklich abzuschalten und die Seele baumeln zu lassen.Das Haus hat einen ganz eigenen, positiven Charme und Charakter, in den man sich sofort verliebt. Es ist liebevoll eingerichtet und man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Es fehlt wirklich an nichts – von der Küche bis zu den gemütlichen Schlafzimmern war alles vorhanden, was man für einen entspannten Urlaub braucht.Wer dem Alltag entfliehen und die Schönheit der englischen Südküste in vollen Zügen genießen möchte, ist hier genau richtig.

Das Cottage ist wunderschön gelegen, man kann aus fast jedem Zimmer auf's Meer schauen (wie auf den Fotos von Karens Beschreibung zu sehen). Der Ausblick ist einfach fabelhaft. Auch Wanderungen entlang des England Coast Path sind direkt von hier aus möglich. Bis in die Altstadt von Hastings fährt man mit dem Auto ca. 10 min. Das Cottage mit seiner besonderen Atmosphäre und der schöne, gepflegte Garten haben uns sehr gefallen. Außerhalb des Hauses hört man, wie ein anderer Mieter in einem Kommentar schrieb, ein leises dauerhaftes Geräusch der nicht weit entfernten Radar-Station, was jedoch von mir und meiner Familie ebenfalls nicht als störend empfunden wurde, obwohl ich sehr geräuschempfindlich bin.Besonders hervorzuheben ist das Naturerleben hier vor Ort. Auf der nahe gelegenen Wiese sah man morgens und abends Kaninchen grasen und flitzen. Sonne, Wind, Wolken und Nebel, Regen und Gewitter. All dies war aufgrund der exponierten Lage des Grundstücks besonders intensiv wahrnehmbar.Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, der WLAN-Empfang ist einwandfrei. Bereits im Vorfeld hatten wir einen sehr angenehmen Kontakt zur Vermieterin Karen, die uns wegen Wünschen für die Betten (Doppelbettnutzung oder Einzelbettnutzung) kontaktiert hatte.Das Einchecken war unkompliziert möglich. Wir wurden bei Ankunft von kleinen Aufmerksamkeiten wie Brot, Butter, Milch und Aufstrichen begrüßt.Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt hier sehr genossen und können das Cottage uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen!

Lovely

Fab views, warm cosy cottage , a real dog owners delight as you and your pup can walk straight out onto the nature reserve. Seals, whales, birds and stars . Highly recommend

Our family bought the cottage eight years ago, Over the years we fell in love with the area and have now moved to Hastings old town ! As our children are now grown up . it has lots to do ... has a very village neighbourly feeling ..great pubs and good food ...as well as great vintage shops where a bargain can still be found!!! But for peace and tranquility and the views you can't beat the cottage and I still find my self staring out of windows entranced..... On a clear night you can see the lights of France twinkling across the sea. 'Stanley our dog is in heaven chasing rabbits along the cliff top, and the birds across the beach. One day we may retire to the cottage but for now we are happy to share our little piece of heaven with you !
