The whole experince from getting the keys to returning them was fantastic, the property was furnished with everything that you could think of. Very comfortable and the location was great, only a 2 min walk from food/supermarket/pubs/ takeaways. Absolutely spot on!
All was great, was central to the places we wanted to visit, shops very close, cottage clean and amazing. My only problem was booking with vrbro would not book through them again as when booking it said my stay wasnt confirmed but money was taken from my bank account
Great location, all bedrooms a good size. Good size lounge and kitchen. Would have improved the overall score, had a small welcome pack been provided, as we have had at previous cottages we have stayed at.
Cottage has everything you need, it was clean & tidy, has comfy beds, good showers and plenty of equipment. The shops in Wooler cater for all your requirements, eating out or cooking in the cottage. The only thing I would say could make it even better is maybe a grab rail by the front door to aid people with a disability or short legs (like me) to get up the step into the cottage, just a suggestion not a complaint. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Well appointed cottage with everything we wanted or needed for a six day stay. Our host Sue was quick to respond to any queries we had, the cottage was spotless, very comfortable.
We have stayed in this lovely property several and and everything still looks like brand new. The beds are comfortable, the insulation meant the house stayed cool despite the temperature reaching nearly thirty and the situation of the house means access is easy to get to shops, cafes and restaurants.
Everything you could wish for in a holiday home, even had beach equipment and so well equipped. Ideal location for Alnwick,Bamburgh, Holy Island and Cragside was a delight.

Kitchenclean tidy very well equipped, washin ok dryer running but not drying after extensive period .
The cosy cottage is very much on point. Its very warm so during our stay there was little need for extra heating. The location worked for us, easy to ge to and easy to start our treks to many locations. Plus having where it is, easy walk to the co op or to many of the shops no need for a car. For us it's a perfect location to see the borders and down towards Newcastle upon Tweed. Definitely a place to stay again when seeing the borders.
We had a great stay. Lovely, warm and peaceful. Although you’re in the centre of Wooler, you felt isolated. We had a lovely meal in Milan’s and we enjoyed our time in The Anchor.
I live in East Yorkshire, England and have enjoyed many wonderful family holidays with my family and friends in Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. I have owned this property since early 2015 and it enables me to spend more time in my favourite part of the world. I have made some unforgettable memories with family and friends. I look forward to welcoming you as our guests. Sue Thompson.

I knew when I set eyes on this property it was perfect. It has been transformed it into a cosy and welcoming retreat and love its location. What makes this property unique
Brae Cottage is perfectly located to explore all that Northumberland has to offer. There are walks and cycle trails right from your doorstop that lead you into the heart of the Northumberland National Park. The St Cuthberts way that starts at Melrose Abbey in the Scottish Borders passes through the heart of Wooler and leads to Lindasfarne priory at Holy Island. At low tide you can drive the causeway and explore the ancient history, have a coffee at the pilgrims coffee house or pick up a bottle of mead at the Lindasfarne brewery. The Northumberland coastline is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The beaches at Bamburgh and Beadnell bay are amongst our personal favourites but there are countless beaches to choose from. Take a boat trip from Seahouses to see the puffins at the Farne Islands.Being so close to the Scottish Borders there are an abundance of Castles to visit. Alnwick Castle is famed for Harry Potter and more recently Downton Abbey. You can also take in the stunning gardens and superbly crafted treehouse. Chillingham castle is within a 5 minute drive of the property and is reputed to be the most haunted in England. At the end of a day of adventuring return home to your lovely comfortable retreat.
