Unique village house with seaview, garden, terrace, sunshine & silence
We sincerely wish you to spend a fantastic and safe holiday on the French Rivera, in L'Orangeraie and in the beautiful medieval village of Haut de Cagnes.
L'Orangeraie is an authentique, recently restored, village stone house.
Accessed from a narrow village street off a leafy and quiet pathway, with stairs. L'Orangeraie (90m2) is divided into 2 parts - the main house has arched iron glass doors which open from the living room onto the wonderful garden. This SITTING ROOM, with a closed fireplace (decoration only) is furnished with a dining-table (seating for 6) and a sofa. The KITCHEN, which is simple and fully equipped is next to the dining area also on the ground floor. There is a microwave/grill and induction hob/cook top, fridge, dishwasher, Italian coffee maker, Nespresso machine, kettle...
On the upper level are 2 BEDROOMS. The main one, furnished with 2 single beds (90cm) that can also form a double bed, offers access to both the front of the house and the roof terrace. The ROOF TERRACE has views of the medieval village, garden and sea view - a table, stools and a bench allow you to enjoy a petit déjeuner and aperitif. Stairs lead from the terrace down to the patio on garden level.
On the upper level, beside the main bedroom, you find an OPEN BEDROOM with a single bed (90cm). Between both bedrooms, there is a blue BATHROOM with a bath and telephone shower, w.c, wash hand basin and storage space.
The GARDEN BEDROOM is separate to the house and can be accessed by the outside patio stairs or by a door opposite the kitchen - you pass through the patio to a small and simple double bedroom with futon bed (140cm). Part of the wall is in stone - there are shelves and a small chest of drawers. The red BATHROOM is on the other side of the patio and has a full shower, w.c and /drying machine for your convenience.
The house has FIBRE CONNECTION. Elecrical heating in all rooms for winter period , fans available for summer. Deck chairs are provided.
L'Orangeraie is not suitable for YOUNG CHILDREN because of a low wall, both in garden and on the top terrace.
Small-medium sized, well behaved, house trained DOGS are welcome, please make sure to have all vaccinations up to date as well as an efficient fly repellant. All infestation will be charged 250€ from deposit.
THE ACCESS WAY FROM THE STREET STARTS WITH STONE STAIRS AND IS NOT SUITABLE FOR THOSE WITH DISABILITIES.
It is impossible to park by the house. All available parking spaces in the village are free from charge. There is also an underground fee parking, 24/7 for cars less than 1.8 tons at a 5 minuts walk. Free shuttles distributes the village and the sea side.

Beautiful house but you do need to be fit and able.
This is a great location for accessing all of the Cote D' Azur on public transport, but there are very few public parking spaces so we felt it better to leave our car in the space we found and use the free shuttle bus down into the town. You can't get the car close to the property and access is down a lot of steps so unloading luggage for a two week stay was very hard work.We had a great stay and the house has amazing views of the Mediterranean. Our host, Gabriella, was very helpful and communicative and sorted the wi-fi problem (not their fault) very quickly.
Beautiful space, tucked away in the ancient city center
This lovely little home was perfect for our stay on the French Rivera in early June. The old city, located high above the bustling town of Cagnes-Sur-Mer, offers truly wonderful views, a lot of history, delicious food and friendly neighbors. The house has all that you need, including a well-stocked kitchen and a downstairs living area that stays cool in the heat of the day. We cooked many evening meals there and enjoyed the gorgeous view from the garden table and the quaint indoor dining area. The 2 bedrooms in the main house have ample storage in the built-in armoires, heavy curtains/blinds for blocking the hot sun, windows that open and many tabletop fans. The layout of the bedrooms and garden room/bathroom is a bit quirky, but we loved having the extra bathroom and washer/dryer. We did not need the small garden room with futon, so I cannot comment on its comfort. As other reviewers have noted, there is a long walk up steep hills to reach the old city & house after a day exploring the town, the beach or taking the train to other Rivera cities. It's taxing in the heat, but to us it was worth it for the unique beauty you experience. If you're too tired for the walk, there are small busses, taxis and Uber to help. However, if you have actual walking impairments, this may not be the home for you.The beautiful stairway from the road down to the home might be too difficult. Overall, it was a great experience, and you couldn't ask for a better host than Gabriella.

Thank You! And very welcome!
Kind regards,

Cottage in malerischer Umgebung
