PA paradise

We felt so lucky to find this farmhouse to stay for in our 3 day visit to Ohiopyle! Loved the old bones with the comfy updates. The house was great and the outdoor spaces better. A brand new pavilion area with a fireplace is where we spent our evenings. It was hot when we were there but fans outside and AC inside made it perfect. So close to all we wanted to do. Would definitely stay here again, not matter what time of year.

Great place for family and pet

The Ohiopyle farmhouse was a great place for a family getaway. We loved the view from the deck and from the top of the hill. My dog and I loved the paths that were cut around the property. We liked the fact that it was only a few minutes from the main part of town. We would definitely stay there again.

Country views with family close to Fallingwater

The site and views were beautiful and so close to Fallingwater. The cabin and its renovation are lovely with the kitchen and the views off the deck. The owner was very thoughtful contacting us and advising us about our stay.

Wonderful!

This was our second time staying here, and it won’t be our last! We love the rustic feel, the beautiful outdoor space, and the proximity to Ohiopyle State Park. The upstairs does get warm with no A/C, but it cools off in the evening and there are plenty of fans. Can’t wait to gather around the fire pit here next summer!

Great Mountain Stay

An amazing rustic lodge with all the details you would need. Though the bones of this space are hundreds of years old our host fills it with creature comforts and a charm that is fitting for the space. We Will be back for sure.

Great property close to Ohiopyle

This is the second time staying at Ron's place. Ron has made great updates to the house since we were last there. We loved the deck addition and spent a lot of times relaxing on the rocking chairs. The property is very private but close to Ohiopyle. We are looking forward to visiting again. Ron is building a pavilion with an outdoor fire place and we're excited to stay again once that's done.

Great location to Ohiopyle

Our family of five stayed over the Labor Day weekend and enjoyed our stay immensely. Cabin can be hard to locate in the dark…but you can’t beat the location. Close to Ohiopyle but not in the hustle and bustle of town. The cabin is a work in process with remodeling and updates, but that did not dampen our stay. Fully functional kitchen and baths and cozy bedrooms. We spent most of our time exploring the Laurel Highlands, so we were good. Again…can’t beat this location! Hope to return next summer.

Rustic but new

The house was super cute! It was a little difficult to get to. There is signs at the beginning of the road saying no GPS signal. We had gps but it lead us to the house not the drive way. The mailbox is on the opposite side of the road as the drive way. The only other thing to be aware of is there is no direct route to the front door. This was not hard for us. But I could see it being hard for some people. Overall the house is super cute and functional! I would love to see it once the house is finished.

Amazing unique place

The longer we stayed the more we appreciated the uniqueness of this house. Such a great setting tucked away so it feels like you’re in isolation. Promote to ohiopyle state park was super convenient as we hiked and went white water rafting. Ron was a great host

Work in progress

Great location. House has many changes in levels as one moves from room to room; adding to the charm of the adaptive use though the years. Additions are unfinished but functional. Small piles of construction debris around the house and barn.

Fantastic property close to the GAP

This was our 5th visit to the farmhouse and once again we loved it!! It's close to the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) and Ohiopyle State Park so plenty of great cycling and hiking. We also enjoy relaxing in the front porch and out on the patio. Our pups love their walks around the property. We'll be back!!

Cozy house with modern touches on a great property

We loved our stay at Ron’s place. Kitchen and bathrooms are well appointed for such an old home. Bedrooms were comfortable and the bathrooms clean with a great shower/bath tub upstairs. The property is really cool with a stunning view from the hill, a great patio, and two different fire pits to choice from. Only 5 minutes from Ohiopyle and it’s fun adventures. Highly recommend this house and we hope to stay there again!

Great getaway close to Ohiopyle

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the house and outdoor area. The patio was great, especially in the evening when the weather cooled off. The house is on a very private lot and was a wonderful place to relax. Ron was very responsive and we would definitely stay here again. Looking forward to returning with some friends .

Our stay was too short! :)

We had a fantastic time in and around this quaint, mid-1800s, farmhouse! Wish we could have stayed longer! The view from the top of the hill is stunning, and the patio and fire pit area were great for playing games in the evening and roasting s'mores. The kitchen is nice and updated, while the rest of the home has a cozy cabin-like atmosphere. Despite there being no AC, the house was very comfortable in the cool of the evenings (even in July). The location is perfect! It feels like there's no one else around for miles, but yet it's a very short drive to town and all the great activities that Ohiopyle has to offer. We loved the hiking trails and kayaking the Middle Yough (we weren't brave enough to try the Lower)! Ron was a helpful host! He responded very quickly and provided great suggestions and directions. We were happy with our experience in this rental!

Fun stay, wonderful location

Ron was always willing to help and available. Our vacation was really nice enjoying the park and it was a wonderful place for our dog to come along with us. As it was listed in the website, the house has no AC so the heat was a little overwhelming at times but other than that our stay was really enjoyable.

Wonderful location!

We enjoyed our stay at this unique home. The house was larger than we expected and is in a great location with total privacy. We didn’t even use the living room because we spent all of our time outside enjoying the patio and fire pit. As many others have mentioned, the views from atop the hill are incredible. My only suggestion would be to add some stair runners on the steps going up to the 2nd floor, as they are steep and slippery, and could be an issue for anyone with small kids or older folks (or dogs). Based on others’ reviews we brought a baby gate to keep our dog from having a potential mishap. Overall we really enjoyed this stay!
