Chez de Le Monde is owned by an Australian couple, Glenn & Robyn Hammond. We fell in love with Collioure back in 2011 when we first visited whilst celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We have since made several trips back to enjoy everything the village has to offer. In 2016 we decided to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary in Collioure along with our two children Ben and Mitch and their wives Brooke and Bek. The whole family agreed that Collioure was as pretty as we had described. During our stay we decided to have a look at what real estate was for sale and by chance came across a very authentic and very typical French home. We instantly fell in love with it and the rest is history.
Why they chose this property
Being Australian with a love of the water and sun we didn't want to compromise on location. It was buy a property overlooking the Mediterranean or don't buy one at all. When our agent mentioned he knew of a property that met our brief it was surreal. The minute we stepped inside we were taken by its spectacular waterfront position, the magical forever changing view and the properties beautiful interior finish. Add to this the fact that its within easy walking distance of most things Collioure has to offer without being in the hustle and bustle of the noisy tourist strip.
What makes this property unique
With the buildings date of 1642 etched in a sandstone plinth, this property exudes charm that sets itself apart from many of other Collioure properties.
The main bedroom is on a different level to the living area ensuring peace and quiet if you want to slip away for a little siesta to recharge your batteries.
Both levels have the same uninterrupted water view that also captures the Chateau Royal De Collioure, the 1000 year old Catholic church, Eglise Notre Dame des Anges and the numerous beaches that surround the bay of Collioure.
Internally, the properties metre think stone walls and mix of contemporary and modern furnishings offers a comfortable home away from home to really enjoy your holiday.
