A Little Gem in The West Highlands, Argyll Inveraray Loch Fyne views, sleeps 4
Fairfield is a delightful, two bedroomed Edwardian cottage all on one level. It is situated on the Northern shore of Loch Fyne, has panoramic views of the loch of& the surrounding hills and is ideal for doorstep walking up into the hills or along the shores of the Loch. It is also a perfect base from which to explore the West Highlands. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard which successfully combines the convenience of contemporary living with the warmth and comfort of a cosy cottage. Many of the original features are retained, including high ceilings, doors and fireplaces. Whatever the weather or time of year, the wood burning stove in the sitting room (an addition to the central heating) ensures the cottage remains warm, inviting and very welcoming after a day on the hills. The cottage has been furnished with a fine eye to detail, from the restful/understated colour on the walls (Farrow and Ball), to comfortable beds, fine linen and soft furnishings which reflect the Highlands. There is a local village store/post office and cafe within five minutes walking distance where you can buy newspapers, eggs milk bread etc. The nearest supermarket is in Inveraray. The area is well known for its fine food and produce with the original Loch Fyne Oyster Bar and Inverawe Smokery being close by (around 45 minutes by car). Furnace is only six miles from Inveraray. With the famous Inveraray Castle and Jail it's a “must do” visit”. The Loch Fyne Hotel -on the outskirts of Inveraray, offers a great Spa day if the weather is inclement. Lochgilphead, Crinan Canal, Kilmartin Glen and Oban (the Gateway to the Isles) are all within 20-60 minutes drive. Taking a ferry to Mull and/or Iona ( Iona Abbey) makes for a fabulous day out. A home from home with a multitude of things to fill at least a week, Fairfield is a wonderful place in which to unwind, relax and explore both the immediate countryside and further afield. Haste ye back!

A true gem located 10 minutes drive from Inveraray. Great day trips in all directions. Kitchen, bedrooms, living room and patio room are all pleasant, comfortable and cozy with all you need to settle in for a few nights.
The cottage was very sweet and suited our needs well. We were so pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the little town of Inveraray was, and had fun dining/walking around there. We also enjoyed exploring Loch Lomond from Luss - we took a short little boat ride and then had a picnic near the water. A very relaxing leg of our trip :). Thank you, Patsy.
A beautifully decorated cottage with all mod cons. I little bit of description for walks near the house would have been a nice addition as we weren't sure if we could venture through the rear garden gate with the dog

Thank you for your review Karen.
Scotland has a ‘right to roam’ however there are often sheep and lambs in the field behind the house and therefore I wouldn’t want to advise a guest with a dog to go through the field. However, it is mentioned in the description that there are ‘doorstep’ walks up to hills behind house-sorry you missed it. Glad you the cottage though!
well presented property was a little concerned about shower over bath as have slight mobility problems but worked well Enjoyed time spent in the conservatory watching the wildlife, A really lovely break and would stay again.
We all loved the property. It was comfortable, clean, had all we needed and was in a fantastic village with friendly people. Easy to get to Inverary with the wonderful castle.
We had a lovely stay, the accommodation was spotless and wonderfully presented. Lots of little extras which made it very homely. The bed heaters were much appreciated as the weather had turned cold. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area!
The cottage is lovely and cosy and very clean. We felt very comfortable during our 17-day stay in the cottage and enjoyed sitting in the winter garden with the beautiful view of the countryside. Very nice location on Loch Fyne, very good starting point for trips to the coast, islands and Glasgow.
Very nice contact with the landlady!
The property lived up to its description- little gem. It was ideally located, comfortable , clean , pleasantly furnished and had a welcome pack of essentials which we were very grateful for. A very enjoyable week in a beautiful area with plenty to see and do. The added bonus was great weather . Would definitely recommend.
