Courtyard

As you walk into the Villa through the large arch entrance and gigantic front door made of Old Cedar wood, you come into one of the most beautiful courtyards that you've ever seen featuring a L-shaped private pool with bench seating for relaxing and a shallow entrance area for young children to stand in. Along the pool, is a beautiful large natural white stone tile flooring that is designed to not slip when wet. Huge shaded corridors with terra-cotta tiles border the white stone with 3 heavenly hammocks that are situated in the columns as well as four large teak wood lounge chairs for tanning in the sun closer to the pool on the natural white stone tiles or relaxing in the shade in the corridors with the terra-cotta flooring. In front of the rooms and living room are rocking chairs and tables for enjoying the outdoor living in the courtyard and its serene and perfectly maintained surrounding garden. The outside bar borders the living area with large sliding glass windows that connect the kitchen to the courtyard. The bar is decorated with a beautiful and unique tile pattern from Granada that's wonderful on the eyes. There is a barbecue for outdoor cooking. Not to be forgotten is the hot water outdoor shower for after surf sessions and time in the pool. There is strong Wifi signal to stay connected throughout the courtyard..

Living Area

Large glass sliding doors and screens lead you from the courtyard to the living area. The very spacious living area with an extremely high ceiling decorated with large wood beams is the perfect place to pass time between in the day while not at the beach and enjoy the evenings. It has AC, large ceiling fans and screen doors and large sliding windows with screens for maximum air circulation. The living area has multiple features:

*TV Area:

Two big comfortable sofas, a sofa chair, large coffee table and entertainment center all were tastefully custom made for the Villa to match in unison in front of the large 60-Inch Sony flatscreen TV with Dish Network and Apple TV for full enjoyment.

*Dining Area

The custom made Old Cedar wood dining table is a huge slab of beautiful wood with benches and individual seats and the end of each side of the table.

*Office

There is a large desk and drawers with two seats for any work on the computer that needs to be taken care of.

*Game Room

We fit a ping pong table and foosball table to add some excitement in the Living Area.

*Kitchen

The inside bar area is at the entrance of kitchen area on the granite island. The fully equipped kitchen has custom Old Cedar wood cabinetry with tons of space. The kitchen has two sinks one on the island and one in front of the large sliding windows that open up to the courtyard and outside bar. With lots of space, it's a great place to cook or just hang out.

It doesn't get any better than Villa Colorados

This is the third year we have stayed at Villa Colorados for Christmas/New Year's week. We love this beautiful home. The design is perfect...all one level, simple, open, yet everyone has a place to go for privacy. It flows effortlessly from the pool/patio, to dining/kitchen/den, and to the four bedrooms. A quiet river runs along the property in the back yard, which adds something special to the property. Monkeys hang out in the trees. So easy, clean, and well-maintained. There are two employees who work daily to care for the property; one of whom, Santiago, has been there all three years. They are kind and help keep the property secure and safe. We never worry about leaving personal items behind when we are at the beach. In fact, most of the time, the front door stays open. The owner, Mateo, and his young family, live in a detached home on the property. He is available as needed to answer questions or help with planning activities. For example, Mateo recommended a world class surf instructor for my daughter and arranged transportation to the Managua airport. The beach, pool, bar, and Pili restaurant are conveniently located no more than a three minute walk from the house. I highly recommend Villa Colorados.

Making Memories!

This was one of our best family vacations! We traveled as a group of 6, including two teenagers. The house is wonderful and has everything you need. Its beautiful, clean, comfortable, and felt like home away from home. Our teenagers’ especially enjoyed the pool, Wi-Fi, and satellite TV. We could not figure out the Apple TV part, but had all the US channels and my husband was able to watch his college football games. We took advantage of the meal plan and had an amazing chef. Gloria, made delicious foods and juices for breakfast and supper. We left it up to her to decide what she made, and we were never disappointed. We had Mateo set-up our airport transpiration. We had an early flight home and had to leave Villa Colorados around 3am, I was a little nervous about being on the roads so early but our driver was awesome, he was there on time and got us to the airport safely. We had planned on renting a golf cart, but decided against it once we arrived at the house, we really enjoyed walking and getting to the beach club was fast and easy. We did rent bikes for one day from Scoops and Spokes and had fun riding and exploring the community. Be sure to stop by Scoops and Spokes and get Ice Cream, try the tacos from Vana Tacos, and the smoothies and drinks at Pili’s, it was all incredibly tasty. I recommend the Yoga class at Mark and Dave’s and highly recommend walking over at low-tide or taking the trail over to Gigante. We also set up a half day trip over to San Juan del Sur, it was fun to see more of the country, but SJDS was not for us and we would have much preferred just to hang out and spend the day at Villa Colorados. This vacation was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. The people are friendly and kind, my only wish is that I knew Spanish so I could socialize more. Ken and Mateo were great to work with, they were always prompt with responding and answering all my questions. Villa Colorados and Nicaragua now have a special place it our hearts, we would not hesitate to go back!

Ken's home was great! Property lived up to the pictures and was located perfectly within Iguana. Great home for hanging out and moving in and out of the beach. Kitchen was fully equipped which made it easy for our group to just bring groceries. Mateo was incredibly responsive to all our inquiries and made the stay here that much easier. Will definitely be back in the future!

Villa Colorados is paradise! We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation!

Mateo and Villa Colorado’s Staff, Thank you for a wonderful visit at your Villa. I know that there has been much turmoil in your country throughout the past two months, and as a result much fear has arisen from many of your potential clients resulting in canceled trips. We are very happy that we did not cancel our vacation. We wanted to write a quick note in regards to our experience getting to and being in Nicaragua. From the planning of the trip all the way through our last drop off at the airport in Managua, our entire family was well taken care of and never did we feel that we were in jeopardy or danger. Your expert drivers, staff, locals, and everyone else that we encountered was kind and considerate. Many people have made the change to fly directly to Esmeralda airport near Playa Colorado’s, which is a quick and easy way to get to the coast, however after driving to and from Managua with 4 adults and 4 children (ages 10-13) I can honestly say that we felt completely safe. I am confident and hopeful that the Nicaraguan people can attain the rights that they deserve and that in the meantime people from all over the world will continue to enjoy the beauty of Nicaragua. Incredible family surf vacation

We always have the best time at Villa colorados! The house is perfect for an active family with. Fooseball table, ping pong table, hammocks and pool. The host, Mateo, helped us with anything we needed. The cook, Sandra, made absolutely incredible meals for breakfast lunch and dinner. The house was beautifully decorated with Nicaraguan art. It’s on the river, so we saw monkeys every day. We loved it!

Simply AMAZING!

This house is gorgeous! I was so impressed with the layout, thoughtfulness, and beauty of this property. The pictures don't really do it justice. It is spacious, well equipped, and the perfect oasis within the bigger oasis of Hacienda Iguana :). Also, just a 2 minute walk to the beach and the yummy restaurant Pili's. I will definitely be returning here! A special thanks to both Ken and Matteo for their excellent client care. Both of them stayed in communication with us leading up to and during the stay. Matteo made sure that we knew if we needed anything to call him and he'd take care of it. He also set up meals for us that were great! My husband and I couldn't wait to take our 9 and 7 year old boys to Nicaragua. We were so excited to see the house in person because the pictures looked so beautiful. We pulled into Playa Colorados and couldn't believe our eyes. The house was gorgeous and so much more then we expected. There were Monkeys in the trees, and birds chirping everywhere. Mateo had set us up with a terrific cook, Sandra so we had lunch waiting for us when we pulled in from the airport. The boys immediately jumped in the awesome pool and then we sat down for a home cooked meal. The house is super comfortable, clean and has everything you need. Internet, tv, foosball, washer, dryer, etc. The house is perfectly located, tucked back from the beach in a lush landscape of trees. You can walk to the beach and even get a drink at the local beside bar. You can also walk to town which has restaurants, grocery stores and rentals. We highly recommend this house and can't wait to go back!

Beautifully designed home with ultra luxury amenities!

Transportation to and from the local airport was very easy and took only 10minutes. First look at the house is a "jaw dropper!" Great staff always working to keep the house and grounds perfectly maintained. Sandra was our chef and she provided delicious meals in a timely manner (brought in beautiful fresh whole fish daily and accommodated special dietary restrictions) House manager arranged a nanny that helped supervise the children (Awesome!) Everything was in great condition. House manager did a very good job of being present and assisting with anything and everything making luxurious service at our finger tips.

Perfect surf rental

This beautiful yet simple home was the perfect setting for our family surf trip. It was the perfect sanctuary to come back to after a day of surfing. The ping pong table was a source of entertainment for the guys while the ladies lounged on the hammocks. The meal plan is highly recommended. The food was fresh and delicious. Mateo was so helpful with any detail that came up when we were there. Highly recommended.

Absolutely wonderful! A beautiful gated jungle on the Pacific Coast.. A hidden gem!

This is a fantastic home that has everything you need! Mateo is an awesome and very helpful guy!!! He will answer all your questions and assist you with any activities you may be interested in. Our boys had an amazing time surfing and just hanging out. Everyone you meet is so friendly and accommodating. I recommend the meal plan so you can just relax. The food, fruit and juices are so fresh! The staff is so lovely. I really can't say enough about our visit but my husband and I are thinking about buying a place there for a vacation home. Do take a flashlight in case you walk to or from the beach after dark... There may be a snake, spider or even a monkey.... You are in a jungle.... So relaxing and the beauty of going there is that you can do as much or as little as you choose to do....be sure and see the sunset and the sun rise before you leave.... I hope you and your family have as much fun and relaxation as we did! Enjoy!

Off The Charts

Of all the surf trips I have been on never stayed in a place even close to as nice as this. We went down the last week of April with 7 guys and had an amazing time staying at Mateo's house and surfing Colorados. The house is incredible and it exceeded all of our expectations. It is very well maintained, it is clean and all of the staff are super friendly. Mateo and his family truly thought of everything when they were designing and building the place. On top of the accommodations the food was INSANE. Every meal was delicious and right on time. Can't wait to get back down there with my family! Thanks Mateo!

Amazing Vacation in Playa Colorados Paradise!

We arrived in Nicaragua hoping for an unspoiled tropical family vacation, and found exactly what we were looking for at the Playa Colorados Surf Villa! We brought our 5 kids and a friend, and they had the times of their lives. The family never tires of talking about the memories we made on the trip. Nicaragua is the unspoiled beautiful vacation spot that Costa Rica was 25 years ago. The newly built house, pool and grounds are beautiful, sitting on the banks of a lazy river surrounded by the jungle, a short 3 minute walk to the beach. Each morning, monkeys, birds & butterflies would fill the trees. The beach was amazing, with the best, most consistent waves our surf loving family has ever experienced. Non-stop offshore winds made for perfect barrels every day. An added benefit of the offshore winds was the lack of bugs and humidity! We brought all the bug spray home - never needed it. I've never enjoyed a tropical vacation so much. The layout of the house is perfect - each air conditioned room opened onto the central courtyard and pool. The family gathered in the great room after dinner at night, played ping pong by the pool, or headed back to the Iguana Beach club for late night fun. The staff was great and really made the trip. We hired the chef Sandra for the week, and it was a great call. Fresh juices, smoothies and fruit each morning, great lunches and dinners too. The rest of the staff was very friendly and kept the rooms and property manicured. Special thanks to Mateo, the onsite manager, who catered to our every need. The Hacienda Iguana Beach club, located 100 yards down the road at the beach, was the social hub of the trip. Super friendly staff, great drinks, and the best view of any bar I've ever been to. My sons discovered the magic of the open bar tab there. LOL! Prices are still very reasonable in Nicaragua. Horseback ride on the beach - $20 for 1 hour. Private half day boat for deep sea fishing with Captain Robby - $100 plus tip. 1 1/2 hour massage - $60. We never got a chance to play the surprisingly nice golf course - next time. I recommend a trip to the small town of El Gigante, a mile or two down the beach. Laying on the beach at night with the kids, looking at the stars... I could go on and on - the trip was just amazing. Thanks so much to Mateo and the Blevins family for sharing your tropical paradise with us! Can't wait to spend another vacation there!

Amazing!

Myself and 3 friends spent the week at Mateo's place and it was the greatest vacation/surf trip we could have imagined. The place is clean and in a perfect location with a 2 minute walk to surf. The food which was freshly prepared was out of this world and we are still talking about it now. Mateo and Kevin showed us around and helped with any questions we had. The pool is perfect and a great way to relax when we weren't surfing. Overall, the place and experience couldn't have been any better. We will definitely be back again soon!

Everything We'd Hoped For!

We (my family with kids ages 7,8,11 and 13 and my mom/her significant other) spent 3 nights at Villa Colorados and it was just perfect! The house is as gorgeous as it looks and the only difference on the outside is that they now have a ping pong table on the pool deck! We spent our days lounging in the hammocks, playing in the pool, and jumping waves at the beach. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. The cleaner and gardener are around most of the day but we weren't bothered by this at all. We also had Sandra cook for us which was a true luxury and highly recommended! Our kids were not on the meal plan but we could easily take them to the restaurant / taco joint in the marketplace area of Hacienda Iguana and to the beach side cafe. Worked perfectly for us. The beach club scene was a bit more party than we'd hoped for but it was spring break week so not too surprising. We didn't miss it though and the beaches were never crowded. The house is quite close to the beach and very convenient. Lots of monkeys and birds to be seen. Mateo and his father (who we communicated prior to booking) were both extremely helpful and responsive throughout the process. Everything run to American's high standards. Can't think of anything we'd change!

Absolute Paradise

My husband and I booked this trip early on in the year and so there was a lot of anticipation and excitement going into this vacation. All I can say is that this place went over and above what we were expecting! From the moment we arrived at the airport, we had the VIP treatment thanks to Mateo and his crew. The house is absolutely gorgeous - perfect for both couples and families. Our days were filled with surf sessions, relaxing by the pool, long beach walks at low tide, and checking out the monkeys and other wildlife. Evenings included watching the stunning sunsets and having delicious drinks at the beach club (such a rad bar on the beach and just steps away from the villa). Mateo and his crew made everything perfect - from the ease of transportation to the delicious food cooked daily to the photos and videos taken of the guys surfing - all we could have asked for and more!
