About this property

Boutique Cottage in the heart of Mumbles with parking - family & dog friendly!

A beautifully furnished and deceptively large cottage in the heart of Mumbles. Situated directly opposite the Norman Castle (Oystermouth Castle) this is a jewel in the crown due to the central village location yet providing 2 off street parking spaces it offers the ability for families to meet up and share a wonderful holiday cottage.
Perfect for families & couples alike with luxurious fittings.
The cottage consists of 3 floors. In the basement there is a large playroom to keep little ones entertained with a whole host of high quality toys, including a rocking horse, tent, puzzles and colouring in with soft cushions. Also in the basement is a wet room, and utility room - great for after sandy trips to the beach!
Upstairs is the hand made wooden kitchen with belfast sink, range cooker, and large american fridge freezer. Everything for cooking has been provided for from a blender to whizz baby food, plastic plates and cutlery to everything to cook a hearty meal! There is a large, sunny open plan dining area leading on from this with its own tv (with sky channels).
Also on this level is the small patio, and front more "adult" living room with its wood log burner, luxurious sofas, beautiful bay windows with shutters for privacy, together with a downstairs loo.
Upstairs on the first floor are the three bedrooms and bathroom. The master bedroom is an open space with fully fitted wardrobes along one wall, views of the sea front and the Mumbles lighthouse, a luxurious King bed with duck/goose feather duvets and pillow cases, stylishly decorated in neutral yet nautical theme to match the rest of the house.
The twin bedroom has two single beds, and the third bedroom has a bunk bed which we recommend only for children's use (due to limited head space).
The main bathroom has a roll top bath, separate shower, and underfloor heating.
Everything for a young family has been thought of from a travel cot, stairgates throughout, black out blinds, a high chair, baby rocker, potties and toddler plates etc. All we ask is that you provide your own bedding for the cot.

A great holiday

The property is situated very well with easy access to shops and beach, with all the gorgeous Gower beaches a short drive away. We took two dogs who were very happy with their holiday. The accommodation is spacious, with great facilities. Three toilets! Great for a family. We are now planning our next trip.

Great family house

A lovely house on three levels, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a toilet, great for a family! A big, well-equipped kitchen with a separate dining area and a lounge with a smart TV. There is also a bed in the basement. The location is brilliant, with shops round the corner but the Gower Peninsula just a short drive away. Thoroughly recommended.

Great place, great location, helpful host. Superb for families. Well appointed. A wonderful holiday home. But its charms obliterated by serious fall tripping over step up outside bathroom and somersaulting down main stairs. And then turning on ankle on shadowy garden step on way back from A&E. Wish there'd been some warning of hazards, or better still, floor/ground level ramped to avoid step. I was lucky, but it could have been so different.

Convenience and comfort!

Lovely house convenient for all Mumbles has to offer. Comfortable and homely, just as described. Parking was so useful! Overall a wonderful family holiday home.

Excellent holiday retreat in an excellent location

We had a great stay at this property. The house was exactly what we needed for us and the 2 children. The house has plenty of room, is tastefully finished with a wonderful nautical theme, and the playroom in the basement was a superb extra. We can't wait to stay here again.

Originally from this part of Swansea I grew up enjoying sunny bike rides along the promenade and Joe's ice-cream, swings in the park and playing mini - golf. Exactly what I want my children to remember of their childhoods too!!

Why they chose this property

Ticks all the boxes - large enough to provide spacious sleeping arrangements plus an upstairs bathroom, separate lounge to the kitchen which is open plan to a sunny dining area, and the added bonus of a downstairs playroom and wet room. Has been likened to a tardis rather than a cottage! Plus the off road parking for 2 cars is a total rarity this central in the village!

What makes this property unique

Upstairs bathrooms, separate wet room, off road parking in an exceptionally central village location is priceless!! You can go on day trips around the gower / beaches safe in the knowledge you can always park right outside your own door. No steep hills to walk up from parking as with other holiday homes i'm aware of!
