The property had everything needed for a stay up in Acadia, from kitchen supplies to general household items. Location was also great to get to all the various areas of the Park and not deal with the busiest areas. Great overall stay!
Clean, quiet, nicely decorate, well equipped, ample room for six, close to trails, and easy communication with the host, Amanda. Very welcoming and comfortable. Nice to call "home" for our visit to Acadia.
Everything was great! Very good location to Acadia and Bar Harbor.
The one thing that was a small issue or an annoyance was that the dryer squeaked very loudly at times for several minutes and then would stop. Otherwise it was great.
Highly recommend. The house was even nicer than the listing. Very spacious, had everything we needed. The location was excellent, especially is you like to walk/hike. The neighbors were very friendly. We hiked up the cadillac mnt south ridge trail for sunrise. The trail head is .5 mile from the house and is safe to walk to. You can take the trail at the end of the road and make a left onto the quarry trail. Stairs will take you down to the park loop road at the bridge. Then take the otter cove trail. You can take that to the Gorham mnt trail or ocean path trail which has much to see. All without a car. We started our trip labor day weekend, so this was super helpful. If you're wondering about biking- Acadia is not bike friendly for casual bike riders. We are not road cyclists, just like to ride around instead of always driving. But not safe, which was disappointing. Stick to the carriage trails for biking, which were beautiful. We didnt feel safe biking to bar habor but you can take the bus from the grocery store. Its not on the bus route map. Sit on the bench and flag down the bus as its going by. The bus schedule seems to be very flexible but they do keep on time for depatures from bar harbor.
This place was perfect for our family (2 daughters-6 and 8). The amenities there were great and there was more than enough room for all of us to stretch out and relax after a day on the trails. It is centrally located to everything in and out of the Park itself (Bar Harbor, Thuya Gardens, etc.). You can even access a feeder trail at the end of the street which takes you to Quarry Path. From there you can get to a multitude of trails. So you can hit the trails from the cottage without even having to get in your car. We like to try new destinations every year, but if we ever make it back to Acadia, we'll be staying here.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. It was perfectly located on the island, outside the bustle of Bar Harbor but just a 5 min drive from city center. We will definitely stay here again.
We stay at Otter Cove Cottage whenever we get the chance. Amanda is a great communicator and host. House is spotless. Location keeps you out of the craziness in Bar Harbor and an easy drive to all parts of the island.
Location extremely convenient to everything we wanted to do, without being in crowded area. Cabins were very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Amanda, our host, was very prompt with communications before, during and after our stay.
Fantastic location with foot access to the Otter Cove and Quarry trails for walks with kids, scenic morning runs along the park loop road, wonderfully cozy cottage with fresh wildflowers, amazingly comfortable beds, and convenient on-site laundry! Highly recommended. Especially for families with young kids who want to stay close to trailheads.
We have stayed in many rentals and this one is at the top of our list! The host truly thought of everything we could need and we had a terrific stay exploring Acadia and the local area. The location is absolutely perfect. Quiet yet close to everything we needed.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property. Amanda was very responsive to any questions. The property is well appointed and in an excellent location. We hope to come back!
The house is in a great location between two great cities and some amazing hiking trails. The property manager also did an amazing job of making sure our stay went well - she even provided a crock pot when we asked for one. We would stay here again.
Great place and perfect location. It is a few minutes from Acadia and about 12 minutes to Bar Harbor - the best of both worlds. The house was extremely clean and if we ever come back, we would stay here again!
The property was exactly as described. Clean and well appointed. Amanda was very responsive. We loved being able to walk to the ocean and the bee hive!
Had a great 3-day stay despite rain & colder than avg temp for late May. Amanda was a great hostess, responding right away to a couple texts I sent. We arrived an hour before checkin and appreciated being able to get settled in early. In addition to being very close to many trails, this home is the most comfortable we have ever booked. Super comfortable mattresses & bedding. Several nightlights. Shades kept out the morning light. We slept great. The cottage is bigger than it looks from the outside. Amanda has thought of everything—Acadia placemats, coasters & artwork. There was salt and pepper, garlic powder, foil, paper towels & sandwich bags. No dishwasher but not a problem. Nice pans & utensils. Plenty of dish towels & potholders. We cooked most of our meals, grilled once & enjoyed eating together at the big table in the kitchen. Everything was bright & clean. We weren’t asked to, but we took our shoes off at the door to try & keep the floors nice since they looked so clean when we arrived. There were hooks by the door for jackets and a rubber tray for shoes. The L-shaped couch was comfortable for watching TV. Our 2 sons enjoyed lounging on it while watching YouTube (good WiFi). We watched a couple movies and even played Bar Harboropoly. Amanda has several Acadia guide books that we used. We washed & dried several loads of clothes. Weather kept us from hiking as planned but this home is perfect for relaxing & spending time together so we still had a great time in Acadia.
It was perfect for our family to enjoy being out of the way, but close enough to walk the trails, go into the little towns, get food and supplies. We loved it and made great memories there. Thanks for sharing
Wonderful cottage and Amanda is a great host. Everything you need. Great to be able to walk from there to Gorham and Ocean path. Very comfortable and nice amenities!
